Reigns: The Witcher is a brilliant marriage of two seemingly incompatible worlds. The 'swipe left or right' mechanic of Reigns has always been about the burden of leadership, and applying that to the world of The Witcher—where Geralt is constantly forced to choose between 'the lesser of two evils'—is a stroke of genius. The writing perfectly captures Geralt's dry wit and the grim, morally grey tone of Sapkowski's world.
What makes this entry special is the combat and the 'Sign' system. When you enter a fight, the swiping changes from political decisions to tactical strikes and dodges, which adds a much-needed layer of active gameplay to the Reigns formula. The game is packed with fanservice, from cameos by Ciri and Vesemir to deep-cut references to the books and the CDPR games. It’s a perfect mobile experience: easy to play with one hand, deeply immersive, and incredibly replayable. It manages to feel like a 'real' Witcher story while staying true to the addictive simplicity of Reigns.
