Fixes for known issues and feature optimizations.
Refantasia: Charm and Conquer is a polished JRPG/Kingdom Sim hybrid that leans heavily into the 'Isekai' fantasy genre. You play as a Lord who must build an empire while managing a roster of powerful heroes and romantic interests. The art style is typical high-quality anime, and the character designs are very expressive. The kingdom management side is surprisingly deep, requiring you to balance resources and research to stay ahead of rivals.
The 'Charm' aspect involves building relationships with various consorts, which adds a social-sim layer that many Kingdom games lack. While it definitely encourages consistent play (and has the usual gacha elements), the sheer amount of content is impressive. If you like anime-style storytelling mixed with strategic base-building, Refantasia offers a very comprehensive package that keeps you busy on multiple fronts.
Deep kingdom management mechanics
Stunning anime-style character art
Romantic social simulation system
Epic hero-based RPG combat
Focus your resources on one hero for each 'attribute' (Strength, Intellect, etc.) early on. A specialized team is much more effective in the Arena and for clearing high-level campaign stages than a balanced but weak team.
Visit your consorts daily to increase your 'Intimacy' levels. High intimacy not only unlocks new stories but also provides significant stat boosts to the heroes associated with those consorts.
Yes, it features hero summoning mechanics, though many powerful heroes and consorts can be earned through gameplay events.
This game is definitely not bad. I personally enjoy all the things there are to do and am having fun with the game. However, it could be made even better. This game is similar to all the games in its genre In that the games progression mostly relies on building towards stacking numbers just in a more advanced and convoluted way. All games of this genre including this one lack a meaningful main mode that utilize the characters you collect in a unique or strategic way out side of just stacking their power level. Raid Shadow Legends, while kind of a meme, managed to do that rather well actually, making certain characters have differences and feel unique because of their unique abilities. I realize however thats not what this game is centered around and I’m not even asking for that complex of a system. It doesn’t even have to be combat related. Something that would give me a feel of input and strategy with my characters rather than just making their numbers higher to beat others would be much more satisfying and very welcome.
I’ve been playing the game for just over a year now and have been enjoying it. Problem is, recently after my family internet was changed (at the end of January 2025), Refantasia has been suffering from horrible connectivity issues. The game will constantly freeze for a few seconds every ten~ish seconds or so, and resetting WiFi, using cellular data, and restarting the app/phone does not help at all. I would have assumed the problem is because of the new internet except for the fact that literally all of my other apps and games on my phone have no connection issues whatsoever; ONLY Refantasia is having this issue. Please check this if at all possible. Otherwise the game is something I hope will be able to play for a long while. Thank you! Edit: nevermind, uninstalling and reinstalling solved the issue.
The game so far is fun for me, it’s nice to just relax a bit and tap away and I currently enjoy the story. Besides that I have put in a bit of money so I’m probably having an easier time then others due to that, but I currently I only have two problems. 1. Light connection issues where it has trouble loading the game properly and is a bit slow in areas. 2. Paywalls on things, right now I’ve only found a costume event that was paywalled and to me it doesn’t really feel right, while I’m fine with an easier pathway if you do spend money in the game, it should never be impossible unless you pay money. If you do everything in an event you should have a fair chance at minimum to get what that event entails, but it was completely impossible without spending 50 bucks for just that single costume. (That’s if you did everything possible in the event as well) Overall I plan to stick with the game, I just hope they don’t increase the paywalls and ensure a fair chance in the future.
I like the game so far. I do have a few things for the developers I’d like to see in the future if it’s possible. For example, I’d love the option to have Lady character instead of the Lord. I love games like this and I never see the option to have a female character to play as, but I understand the demographic lol. However, the more I’ve been playing, the more I realize that you should not be wasting that much into the game. It’s incredibly unfair that the same exact people in my server are all the Paragons. They spend a lot of money just to obtain the Paragon rights or Titles as soon as they see another player get 1st place or close to it. I was almost Paragon and spent a good amount of money just to obtain it - only for someone to spend a larger amount and ruin anyones chances of getting it. I realize this game is meant for the money players, but it’s really frustrating and disappointing to the rest of us where we aren’t able to even obtain any rewards or get a chance because the same person keeps winning every single ranking - obtaining the titles, Paragon rights, and outfits.
Playing as a free to play player means constantly having content far out of reach. Playing for 10 months at a relatively dedicated rate I still never acquired the items necessary for a single Norse companion. Each new update that introduces new content pushes the total required number of items for the additional content, i.e the Egyptian companions/consorts requiring twice the total number of items as previous updates. The developers may introduce new things to entice players but then they create insane requirements that are far beyond what anyone can hope to reasonably achieve without spending large sums of money. If the gameplay was remotely interesting it might not be an issue but the game comes down to just being one giant stat check with mini games that are reskinned bargain bin games that have existed forever. It’s either a reskin candy crush that’s somehow more boring than the original or a reskin of a matching game. They even have a reskin of their own reskin of a game (bartender battle/chocolate whatever). It’s a shameless money grab masquerading as a game that is entirely dependent on people liking anime girls too much. I deeply regret spending anytime on this game.
Could’ve been great, could have gotten a higher score from me. If the event to get the costume didn’t cast you an arm, leg, and your very soul. You literally have to spend over 50$ dollars to get ONE decent costume. Black desert charges you half this much and is better than what you get here. Like 20$ just to get 5 candies and you need 270, and this looks like a daily charge so 20$ every day just to get 5 candies. Even if you do the event it’ll give you at best 15 candies, leaving you with 255 more candies to get. I did the math and if you purchase the minimal of the 5 candies per day you need to charge a total of 1020$ for again, only ONE costume. This is bull crap for what you want, and if you don’t care about the materials gained from charging the vip awards then it’s even worse. You’d get 1020$ worth of items that you don’t care about all for just that costume that looks pretty good.
The game becomes increasingly hungry for your money and with challenges like World Boss do the world boss with very limited time of the day. Makes the game very grind rather being fun. Also the Halloween Event is short and impossible to earn the main prizes. Makes pay to get them instead of putting in the time to earn them. I’ll consider changing my opinion if the world boss can be approved on / future events be done better. Another thing I’ve been really hating is exclusive outfits can only be earn in this very small time window where you HAVE TOO SPEND CASH to even have a remote chance in getting. It would be alright if it’s once in awhile but now it has become every other week! This makes me not want to play the game at all anymore. Edit: I found that the World Boss piece is completely broken. Every time I go to play either it’s not the time slot or the “boss” is already beaten and thus I can’t fight it and clear my missions. Just another reason for this rating.
The game is a lot of fun. It is incredibly addictive so heads up to the people who suffer with addiction problems. Get ready to spend more money than you originally thought. Sure there is free play… but to advance at all you have to spend money. LOTS OF IT! This latest “crossover” is just a sad cash grab because they know people are going to pay it. The devs response to the outcries of “this company is way too greedy” is to increase their greed ten fold. I’m sure I’ll get some typical dev response here along the lines of “we’re sorry city lord but rest assured our team is hard at work to make your experience more enjoyable” and blah blah blah. People keep playing, they’re going to keep finding ways to separate you from your money. I don’t mind spending some money. This game used to be a lot of fun. However now it just seems like it’s more of a chore of constant clicking than actually being fun and enjoyable. Way to go devs… your greed seems to know no bounds.
