Gameplay is fun & satisfying. At first the game’s logic takes considerable thought, but with practice it becomes almost second nature. I like that I can choose to solve puzzles at my own pace or challenge another player to a head-to-head competition where speed is crucial. There are a lot of different elements — and changes made to how things work — which are not very clearly explained. There would seem to be much room for improvement there. A recent change to challenges has been particularly disappointing. Previously, one could survive 2 errors on a challenge puzzle, while a 3rd error would render you “out of lives.” After an update, a single error now results in being “out of lives.” That’s a huge (unannounced) change requiring a significant rewiring of tactics. I think a more reasonable change would have been to go from allowing 2 errors to allowing only 1, rather than none at all. Maybe I’ll get used to it, but maybe not: so far it has really slowed the pace of challenge play and made it much less fun, so I’m not sure I’ll continue playing enough to make the adjustment.

Fair, but still evil design

Every puzzle is solvable without trial and error or boosts. Even the very hard levels. You can place x to mark where a queen can’t be. Thats the good. The bad. 1) you can only place a queen by tapping an x, and you cannot remove an x without clearing them all. This is obviously intentional, and I could forgive that, but..2) mid level ads as soon as you unlock daily challenges. I’d rather skip the 2 coins, as I have no need of boosts. Nope. You get two lousy coins and an ad. 3) selling temporary ad removal is mean. 4) selling permanent ad removal only on the screen that appears every 20 ads or so is just evil. I am not kidding. It’s not in the store. If you decide you want to remove all forced ads, you have to suffer through more until you are offered it again. 5) even if you pay to remove forced ads, there is still that free spin notification which will not go away until you watch the two minute ad and spin the wheel just to soak more dough from people with OCD. Now I am getting long mandatory ads with no skip button. With the tired of ads popup after each one. And the notification on the second wheel spin still won’t go away. So it’s clear that if you don’t need the rewards, this game will force the evil reward ads on you anyway! Even if I was a millionaire, I would not spend a cent now. If I could rate negative 1 million stars I would. Do not make an app which a smart person can avoid the ads, and then ramp up the ads to the level a non smart person would see when they do it!!!

Unplayable and hot phone.

Downloaded this and the amount of ads you have to deal with seems higher than other games, you spend more time in ads than you do getting to play the game. The biggest issue though is that they are almost all “playable” ads, so you have to sit through the video part of it, then you have to wait on the “playable” part of the ad to get past it. These for some reason cause my phone to heat up to the point that it starts lagging so badly the game becomes unplayable. I only have maybe 2-3 games downloaded at a time, and have a very minimal amount of apps that are necessary like my bank and bill apps, and I don’t keep a ton of videos or pictures on my phone, I keep my cache clear and I end all apps so nothings running in the background. Whatever those playable ads do is burning up my phone (iPhone XR) and it’s just not worth it to play a couple levels in between ads that take longer than the levels take and make my phone unuseable until it cools down. Edit: I don’t mind sitting through the ads to play the game, but the fact that the “playable” ads cause the extreme overheating issue is the problem. Promoting buying the paid version to get rid of the ads is fine also. But almost melting my hardware and then telling me to pay for the game to avoid that is wild XD

Great game, I think tournament is rigged

Like the title says the game is great. It’s full of ads so be prepared to buy the ad free thing if you really want to play it. But still, great and fun game. Solid app. Not too many glitches, if there is a random one a simple closing the app and reopening it fixes it. My issue with this is that the tournament is literally rigged. I haven’t lost but 1 1v1 match, I’m 80-1. Yet I enter a tournament, solve a puzzle in JUST UNDER 5.5 seconds, and somehow get eliminated because everyone in the top ten solved a puzzle in sub 5 seconds? I don’t think so. That may have been the ghost of someone’s very best time on that puzzle, but if that’s the case then the tournament idea it’s stupid because it’s taking your current versus everyone else’s best. That is misleading at best. Anyways, I really just needed somewhere to vent about that because that is simply ridiculous, but like I said in the first paragraph. It’s a great game and even if the tournament is stupid I’m going to keep playing it. 4.5/5 recommend

Ads issue

The game concept seems fun, I was only about 10 levels in before needing to call it quits so not sure how it gets more difficult because it was very easy. The problem with this game though is the ads, this game has unskippable, full minute long ads, every couple minutes or so. And I don’t mean optional ads to increase your rewards, I mean full length unwanted ads that come for no reason. A lot of mobile games have optional full length ads, and unskippable ad pop ups every once in a while that can be skipped right away or in 5 seconds. This is the first game I ever played that had unskippable, full length (minute long or more) ads that MUST be seen every couple minutes. I downloaded this game thinking it could be a good no WiFi, airplane game. Well guess what? The game doesn’t work without WiFi, so there truly is no way to bypass the ads. The only reason they require WiFi in this game isn’t because the game itself requires WiFi, but just so that ads can play. The WiFi is necessary for ads to play, and that’s the only reason WiFi is required to play the game. This is awful and incredibly greedy, the devs don’t care about their game, just squeezing every last dollar they possibly can.

Overall great game but there are some bugs

My only issue is sometimes the sound cuts out after an ad and I have to close the app and go back in to get it to work. This is especially a problem when trying to go back and do previous daily challenges as it will often do it over and over forcing me to complete a level completely soundless. I love the sounds of the game so its kind of a bummer but otherwise it's a great game. Also, I already completed the Queen's treasure challenge but it keeps prompting me to start the challenge again. Obviously I cannot because I already have the treasure. It would be really cool if you came up with new challenges for us to move on to as we finish them. I like the feature of being able to pick up where you left off if you don't finish, but it would be cool if you had new Friday challenges when you do complete it.

First of all, I paid for no ads. They’re so long and so painful that I did purchase the option to omit them. Some still sneak through and if you want to go back through the daily challenges, you have to watch a full ad before accessing the level. Some ads are well over a minute. The game also malfunctions on occasion and requires you to watch an ad for today’s challenge. That’s a bummer. Ads aside, the leaderboard is fake which is so sad. Everyone you talk to will say they’re in first place once you bypass the other “players”. Also… the leaderboard is for nothing. What does it get you? Does it ever reset? It’s been months. Lastly, there’s a queens challenge that gives you a new shape to play with and a few extra hints and coins. To get this you have to watch ads after every single level. Level: 20 seconds. Ad: 95 seconds. Frustrating. And after you get the new icon, that’s it! Nothing else unlocks. The challenge resets the next week and you don’t win anything other thank coins or hints again. I’d love to have other modes or challenges or thing we could unlock. I hate the dangling of ads after completing levels (and really, the dangling of ads EVERYWHERE) after o paid to have them removed. I really love this game. I just wish there was more to do or more to unlock. Lastly… am I crazy or are levels repeating themselves?

Full of ads, fake leaderboard, but fun game

I love the game Queens, so I downloaded this app. However, it’s full of ads, which makes up hard to play unless you buy adblock. Even when you buy adblock you STILL have to watch ads if you want to play past daily challenges, for every single one. And they’re not short ads either, their 45-60s ads per daily challenge. Besides that, the global leaderboard is also fake. I know this because I got to the #1 spot within a day and when I downloaded this app on another device, my original account was nowhere to be seen at the top (also all the names and scores of the other top players were completely different). This is a let down to competitive players and I would really appreciate an actual leaderboard with real players. Besides that, it’s still a fun game and I do appreciate the different skins and challenges, so I’d still say the app is worth downloading if you’re willing to either shill out $3.99 for no ads or to sit through an ad every 3 minutes.
