- minor fixes and improvement
Paths: Beatrice's Adventure is a poignant interactive fiction title that stands out for its emotional weight and genuine branching narrative. Unlike many 'choice-based' games that offer the illusion of agency, Beatrice's story actually shifts based on your decisions. As a connoisseur of visual novels, I was impressed by how the game handles sensitive themes of family, growing up, and personal identity.
The hand-drawn art style provides a warm, personal feel that complements the diary-like storytelling. Each of the multiple endings feels earned, rewarding players who take the time to explore Beatrice's world multiple times. It’s a slow-paced, thoughtful experience that asks the player to empathize deeply with its protagonist. If you enjoy narrative-heavy games like 'Life is Strange' or 'Florence,' this is an excellent mobile alternative.
Deeply emotional branching storyline
Over 10 different endings to discover
Original hand-drawn art style
Casual gameplay focused on decision making
To unlock the 'Harmony' ending, you must consistently prioritize Beatrice's relationship with her mother in the first two chapters, even when it seems easier to rebel.
After your first playthrough, use the 'Skip' function for dialogue you've already seen to quickly explore different choice branches and find all 10 unique endings.
The prologue is free, and the full story can be unlocked as a single complete purchase.
Where do I start?! The story is exciting and has you H O O K E D. The characters are creative and you can see they were well thought of. It has a really really interactive and fun storyline where the decisions you make impact the story in ways you wouldn’t ever expect. I’ve played it 4 times over already and I’m not bored yet with the multiple endings and trails. Definitely a game you should get. I really really think it’s something worthwhile
