Pleasure Goal (also known as Futsal: 5 on 5 Mini Soccer) is a fantastic arcade interpretation of indoor soccer. Moving away from the slow pace of traditional sims, this game is all about speed, trick plays, and immediate gratification. The ACA NEOGEO port captures the bright, colorful sprites and the energetic soundtrack perfectly. It's a game where you can go from kickoff to a spectacular 'overhead kick' goal in seconds.
While the roster of teams is varied, the real hook is the 'Saurus Cup' tournament mode. The controls translate surprisingly well to touchscreens, though the high-speed nature of the game definitely benefits from a physical controller. It’s a bit lighter on features than some other sports titles, but as a pure arcade soccer experience, it’s one of the most 'fun-per-minute' titles in the SNK library. Perfect for sports fans looking for a quick, flashy retro fix.
