Oceanhorn 2 is an absolute technical marvel for mobile devices. The graphics are lush and detailed, and the sense of scale when you enter a new region is genuinely impressive. It captures that classic 'Hero's Journey' feeling perfectly, with a great mix of combat, exploration, and those head-scratching environmental puzzles we all love.
While the combat can feel a little stiff compared to high-end console titles, the variety of gadgets and the ability to command your party members adds a layer of strategy that keeps things fresh. It's a massive, earnest adventure that proves mobile games can stand shoulder-to-shoulder with traditional console experiences. If you're a Zelda fan, this is as close to Breath of the Wild as you're going to get on an iPhone.
20+ hours of main story gameplay
Stunning console-quality graphics
Diverse environments from jungles to high-tech cities
Deep character progression and gear system
Full controller support
Don't forget to use the command system. Trin and Gen are vital for solving puzzles; you can direct them to stand on switches or attack distant enemies while you focus on the main objective.
Combat requires a mix of swordplay, blocking, and using the Caster gun for elemental effects. Exploration is rewarded with hidden shards and weapon upgrades tucked away in every corner of Gaia.
Technically it's a prequel, set long before the events of the first Oceanhorn, so you can play it without having finished the original.
