We have fixed some bugs and optimized the app. Enjoy!
Nighty Night! is arguably one of the most beautiful and thoughtfully constructed apps ever designed for early childhood. Instead of relying on loud sounds and flashy visual rewards that overstimulate a child's brain right before sleep, this app utilizes warm, muted papercraft aesthetics and a soothing, rhythmic acoustic soundtrack to gently wind down energy levels.
The tactile quality of the art is exceptional. Each animal has an authentic, hand-painted charm that feels like a classic physical storybook has magically come to life on your device. The voice acting is whisper-soft, creating a warm, cozy atmosphere that naturally prepares a child for bed.
For parents struggling to establish a consistent, peaceful evening routine, this app is worth its weight in gold. It turns the chore of getting ready for sleep into a cooperative, interactive ritual that kids genuinely look forward to ending their day with.
Stunning, handcrafted 2D illustrations and sets designed by artist Heidi Wittlinger
Sweet, calming vocal narration available in multiple languages to assist with language learning
Gentle, stress-free interactions specifically tailored for toddlers aged 1 to 4
An Autoplay mode that transitions the app into a passive, beautiful video bedtime story book
For the most effective wind-down experience, guide your child from left to right across the farm buildings. End the interactive journey with the house dog, as his sleepy yawning animation acts as a great natural mirror cue for your toddler to close their eyes.
The app features a gentle, non-overstimulating point-and-tap mechanic. Children tap on sleepy animals to see them perform a cute little animation, then tap the light switch in their barn room to turn off the lights and put them to bed, accompanied by soft narration.
Yes, while the core app includes a wonderful selection of domestic farm animals, parents can unlock expansions featuring exotic forest and pond animals via one-time purchases.
I’ve had this app since my 10 and 12 year olds were toddlers. And I still have it on my phone! It was always soothing when they needed to calm down and, every once in awhile, one of them will still go through the program. I live that you can change the season and the language. The interaction with each animal is so fun, too! I ALWAYS recommend it to parents with small children. In fact, I’m finally writing a review because I’m in the process of sending a link to yet another parent!
Very rarely do I take the time write reviews, but for my youngest daughter, this brilliant, interactive and visually stunning night-time endeavor is simple enough for her delicate mind and soothing enough to lull her into a peaceful slumber every time. Putting each animal down for their peaceful rest is something that she looks forward to, whether nap time or bed. Thank you for your contribution to the childhood of my babies, you are always a welcomed attribute in our Christian home.
I’ve had this app on my phone since my granddaughter was 6 yrs. old. She and I enjoyed it together, however when her twin brothers were 4yrs. old and not speaking much, this app helped them to understand speech and to start talking. It will stay on my phone! I have tried to encourage other people to get it. Greatest thing in learning tools. I’m a retired teacher so I know!
Since i was 2, which was all the way back in 2013, my dad showed me this and put me to sleep, ive loved this app, im kinda bummed they make you huy the spider cat pony goat and other animals now but this app still gives me that nostalgic feeling. I love this app. My dad left and this just brings me closer to him, he didnt leave by choice. One day we will live together again, but for now.. Nighty Night!
Although you might think you are purchasing all of the animals in this app when you buy it or when you purchase the bundle beware! There are many animals that you will not have access to unless you make additional purchases. For this price for a silly little app that you will spend about three minutes using you really should have access to all of the animals. Requiring someone to spend another dollar 99 to purchase three animals and then another dollar 99 to purchase three more animals is ridiculous. These should all be included when you purchase the app.
My kids love this app. My two year old plays it every night; the cricket sounds does a great job killing him to sleep. He was very disappointed though when the snowman left after the new year. We also wish that we could buy the jingle bells video on the iPhone. We have it on the iPad, but there is no option to buy it on the iPhone.
Love this app - we’ve been using it for YEARS (through three kids). So why the 3 stars? This score is ONLY for the current version and only for one small - but very distracting - issue... the time/date/battery/WiFi indicators remain on screen and tilted to one side throughout the entire app! I’ve uninstalled and reinstalled twice, but nothing gets rid of it. If this is fixed in a future version, I will give it the 5 stars this app deserves!!
I bought Nighty Night bedtime story a few years ago when my granddaughter was young and I still listen to it now that she is a teen. I understand that Alistair Findlay is the narrator. I just love his voice. Does anyone know whether he narrates NN Circus. I didn’t find his name listed in the credits for either this app or the Circus
