Neolysium is a visually arresting experience that feels like a love letter to the golden era of minimalist puzzle design. From the moment you launch the app, you're greeted with a sleek, neon-infused aesthetic that manages to be both stimulating and incredibly relaxing. The core gameplay loop revolves around manipulating geometric structures to align light paths and energy flows, creating a satisfying 'click' in your brain every time a solution falls into place.
What truly sets this title apart is the lack of hand-holding. While the initial levels introduce mechanics with elegant simplicity, the later stages demand a high level of spatial awareness and forward-thinking. There are no timers or high-pressure fail states, allowing you to inhabit the world at your own pace. If you're a fan of titles like Monument Valley or Lyne, Neolysium offers a fresh, futuristic spin on the genre that is well worth the download for any logic enthusiast.
Over 200 handcrafted logic puzzles
Stunning neon-noir visual style
Dynamic ambient soundtrack
No ads or timers for uninterrupted focus
Always look for the primary light source first. Rotating the main prism should be your first move in every level to see where the light can potentially reach. Don't be afraid to leave a beam 'hanging' while you solve the secondary nodes.
Chain light through multiple mirrors to build up power. Some gates require a specific intensity of light, which can only be achieved by converging two separate beams into a single collector.
Yes, if you find yourself stuck, you can use the 'Pulse' feature to highlight the next correct mirror placement.
I love these types of games. Only thing with this one is that the music / sound doesn’t stop when pausing, leaving the app, and I would say that the discard button is a little too close to the play button, but not sure how to resolve that because the card size and layout is good.
A product of a bygone era. Anyone who was around when the iPhone first came out is probably familiar with the boom of fun little $0.99 or free games that came out with nearly no ads and the only goal being creating a fun game. This is just like that. A game that asks nothing from you but to enjoy it. Open it up and play around with it whenever you want — no annoying notifications or micro transactions. No daily rewards creating artificial FOMO so you feel obligated to open the app up all the time. This is what games as art should be, and I can’t recommend it highly enough.
I really enjoy the game a lot! I recommend the game at the price point! The main reason for the review is because I don’t see any other way to let the developer know about the bugs. Bug 1. When playing the special sapling card the should put new cards in the deck it does not add them. Bug 2. When playing the last card in your hand that is supposed to add cards to the deck, it adds the cards but does not give you one in your hand. The game just sits there without ending the game either. Bug 3. Sometimes the game blanks part or all the screen and freezes, and most often causes the game to restart. Would like a way to send bug reports directly! So it does not effect the reviews! Thanks for a great game! Excited for new improvements and add ons!
I’m updating my prior review to now be 5 stars. Bugs are fixed, you can easily zoom in on cards, everything is smoother and very refined now. This is a great strategy game at a great price, with no data collection or IAP. Relaxing and enjoyable, yet challenging. Interesting choices to make. Thank you developer! Highly recommended.
I really like the concept of this game, but it needs quite a bit of balancing, tuning, and debugging. There are a number of cards that are strictly bad plays, and others which seem to be intended to synergize with cards that don't exist. Cards sometimes vanish from my deck during a game, or duplicate themselves in my discard pile. Would love to try the game again after it receives some polish!
Interesting game, stunning artwork, great price. Easy game to pick up and play.
I love this game but I often am very frustrated because of a bug. Cards from the standard deck disappear and never make it into my hand. For example, the standard deck contains 3 batteries. In my latest play through, only ONE battery showed up in the ENTIRE GAME. Other times, the LOVE card won’t show up either.
