Welcome to the first stop in your appraisal career—Hethereau, a sprawling and vibrant metropolis!
Neverness to Everness (NTE) is looking to be the 'Persona meets Grand Theft Auto' game we've always wanted. The urban setting of Hethereau is incredibly detailed, dripping with neon and personality. While the combat looks as fluid as you’d expect from Hotta Studio, it’s the 'lifestyle' side of the game that really excites me.
Being able to buy property, customize cars, and manage a business gives the world a sense of permanence that many open-world gachas lack. The supernatural 'anomalies' are a great hook, turning mundane city objects into terrifying bosses. If the final release manages to balance the high-speed racing with the tactical combat, this will be a massive contender in the RPG space.
Vibrant supernatural open-world metropolis
Squad-based combat with wild supernatural powers
In-depth lifestyle features: car customization and business management
High-speed urban exploration and 'joyride' mechanics
Look for environmental cues like glowing objects or strange weather patterns to find anomalies. Each anomaly requires a specific elemental setup from your squad to defeat.
In between missions, invest your Beetle Coins into local businesses. Owning a café provides passive income and unique buffs for your hunters.
Yes, NTE is free-to-play with in-app purchases for characters and items.
I’ve enjoyed pretty much everything about it so far. Performance is good, graphics are amazing, the setting is phenomenal, and there is a good bit to do at launch. Racing, fishing, exploring, missions, bonds/dates with characters, and probably more that will be included too. I actually found a half court basketball court on top of one of the high-rise buildings in the city that was really cool. It would be great if you could shoot a basketball around up there or something with friends but its just visual at the moment. I would also really like to have a player house at the top rural town of the map but currently limited to city apartments. Not the biggest fan of how many characters are part animal but it doesn’t take away from the experience of the characters or personalities as far as I can tell. I personally play the game with the Chinese audio, not the English audio, but vocals and sound are really good from what I can tell. Excited to see more characters, hobbies, houses, and story as this game grows.
I played this game for the past three days and for the most part, I think it’s very fun and enjoyable. There’s a bit of device lag but, as it just came out, I’m willing to overlook it for now. I also think some of the game aspects are very interesting, especially the gacha system and ascension being more self-customization. The character designs are alright, but seem to be more style over substance. The world feels very big and lived in and I absolutely love driving around (poorly because I can’t drive) the city scapes and exploring. However, while my issues are relatively minor, there is one major issue that cannot simply be ignored. This game uses generative AI. It is extremely blatant, right down to the most minute of details, and it’s such a genuine shame since there are clearly talented artists working on this game. The AI utilization is unignorable and completely drains all the enjoyment and enthusiasm I and many others had for this game. Furthermore, the developers lying regarding its usage is incredibly scummy. If they are willing to lie about something this obvious, what else are they willing to lie to us about. Until the seeable future, I cannot in good faith continue to play a game that refuses to respect the artists that work for it by undervaluing them with their utilization of AI. The game may be fun in a bubble, but a game that cannot respect its artists can never truly support its players. Period.
Honestly this surpasses my expectations. It truly is amazing. I will write some things to be requested. I feel the co-op things can be a little bit more to offer. Like how FFXIV is, I feel like this would surpass it. Second, maybe skateboards, or hoverboards would be really cool. As would boat houses, and maybe different treasure islands we can explore. I love the chaos zones as well, I feel that can be played with a lot, like a chaos labyrinth, with high rewards. I would love something like streets of rage at the arcade, where it’s your character that can do knock off 4p beat em ups or shoot ‘em ups. I like the idea of games inside games. And the ultime chill fest. A mall would be really cool. To see the in game clothes what they look like. Also, offering a way for your character to work as clerks for in game would be nice. To run a cafe, police force. Etc. crossover events would be very nice too, like honkai, punishing grey raven, or even final fantasy dissidia, but yes. More dungeons, pvp, as many characters as possible 👌🏾🔥🔥🔥
First I would like to state that this game is hands down one of if not the most free to play friendly game on the market. 50 pulls = select ANY S rank standard unit. Hundreds of pulls ~400 total. No 50/50. The gacha is a game-board that lets you actually watch your rolls. Such a cool idea! Just gave out another free 10 pull & another S rank selector for a standard unit. On top of all of that, the first time you clear a boss, you can get a S rank arc for all of your units. & they are their signature S rank arcs, not some knock off generic version. The combat is flashy, and fun to view. Aesthetically the combat is my favorite out of all the flagship gachas on the market. Character design is peak. The story is as to be expected from a 1.0 story. I really hope they step it up for future patches, the story is decent but nothing crazy at the moment. Next, my absolute favorite part about this game is the City Tycoon system. Being able to buy cars, houses, businesses, etc is a really neat mechanic. You can also do “city life” activities that include but not limited to: fishing, taxi service, bank heist, delivery driving, etc. This gives the game life, and makes it feel like there is always something to do. Hands down my favorite part of the game. Earning fons and collecting waifus. I look forward to seeing what more gets added to future versions, thank you devs for this masterpiece. You’ve got my attention.
You can tell the dev team put lots of love into this game. I normally play on PC and it’s beautiful there, but on every platform you’ll find a bunch of references to anime culture (lots of anime tropes, as well as nods to Spirited Away, Initial D, Your Name and Re:Zero are a few of the ones I’ve found so far), a living breathing city that actually FEELS like a city, while also having its own beauty spots. As I write this, I’ve been getting over a heartbreak for a few weeks, and I love just going to Caltrop Lake with Mint and taking time to be happy for what I couldn’t have irl. NTE is a game that makes you feel human, and the ability to live a fast life or get in touch with your human side is one of the best things a game can deliver in my opinion. The dev team knows how to make a game that appeals to the explorer, the action hero, the average joe and the melancholy. It’s hard to appeal to everyone, but this game does its best, and that’s evident in the life and breath of Hethereau.
Its a great game, very pretty and the character designs are great. The early game is very generous and if youre lucky— you can get three five stars from the standard banner extremely early. The combat feels great, the driving is fun. My ONLY gripe is that while yes, the female characters are the selling point for most people— I REALLY wish there were more male characters, and that they were dateable like the female characters. The fact that no matter the gender of the MC, you can only date a woman, feels like the game is trying to appeal to a gooner fanbass instead of people who just enjoy casually playing gacha games. Thats about my only problem though— ASIDE from the jail mechanic. It’s funny, but if you dont have enough money to pay the fee or get caught one too many times trying to escape it basically locks you out of the main game and becomes really tedious of going through the prison days over and over again. Anyways, good game, pretty visuals and fun combat.
I really want Neverness To Everness to succeed—it has a lot of potential, and the character design alone pulled me in. I especially liked characters like Mint and Nanally. The world and overall concept are genuinely interesting, which makes the current issues even more frustrating. The biggest problem right now is the sound design. Audio quality feels noticeably low—voices sound muffled, and the mixing is off. In several scenes, especially early cutscenes, it feels like effects are missing entirely. The result is similar to a poorly dubbed anime where original audio is suppressed and dialogue is layered over it. It gives the game an unpolished, cheap feel. Performance and animation also need work. NPC animations often appear low FPS even on medium to high settings, and increasing to high or ultra doesn’t resolve it. There’s noticeable stuttering throughout gameplay, including during pre-rendered cutscenes, which shouldn’t be happening. I’ve also seen NPCs sliding across the ground while walking, which breaks immersion. Lip sync is another issue—characters’ mouths don’t properly match the dialogue, which reinforces that “bad dub” feeling and makes scenes harder to take seriously. Overall, I really want to keep playing and support this game, but in its current state it’s difficult to stay engaged. With improvements to audio quality, optimization, and animation polish, this could be something special. Right now, it just isn’t there yet.
(EDIT: had to lower my rating, even after having a hotfix the game still crashes, if anything is crashes even MORE now and devs refuse to at the bare minimum, acknowledge the issue and say they are working on it. this game definitely isnt mobile user friendly) everything about the game is really good aside from how often the game crashes. theres been hundreds of reports on it now in the official discord server yet devs have released no statement about it and as of yet, no fixes. its not an issue with devices or graphics, the game isnt optimized well. i really hope its able to be fixed soon, i could understand being kicked a few times but me and many other players that have high performing devices cant even make it through 1 cutscene without being kicked and it really ruins game quality and playtime enjoyment. if you are having the same issue, i would just recommend deleting the app until theres a fix or until devs address it.
