Laya's Horizon is quite possibly the most graceful game I have ever played on a mobile device. While the Alto series mastered the 2D plane, this move into 3D open-world flight feels like a natural and breathtaking evolution. The controls are the real star here; they feel tactile and weighted, making every narrow miss through a stone archway feel like a genuine accomplishment rather than a canned animation.
What I appreciated most was the lack of pressure. There are no timers forcing you to hurry, and no enemies hunting you down. The island itself is the challenge and the reward. Whether you are chasing a mysterious bird through a dense forest or simply watching the sunset from the highest peak, the game maintains a consistent sense of wonder.
