MySims™ Kingdom is the more adventurous sibling of the original MySims, and it’s wonderful to see it on Apple Arcade. While the first game was all about town management, Kingdom feels more like a lighthearted RPG. The 'Wandolier' mechanic gives you a clear sense of purpose, and the writing is genuinely funny—King Roland and his quirky knights are great fun to interact with. The transition to mobile has been handled with care; the touch controls for building are surprisingly precise, which was my biggest concern.
The game looks great, too. The updated textures and lighting breathe new life into these islands. It’s an 'easy' game in terms of difficulty, but the satisfaction comes from the creativity and the 'aha!' moments when you figure out how to build a specific contraption to solve a villager's problem. It’s a massive amount of content for a mobile game (over 3GB!), and it feels like a full console experience in your pocket. Perfect for anyone looking for a long-term project to sink their teeth into.
Epic Storyline: Help King Roland save his kingdom from ruin.
Vast Exploration: Discover varied lands with unique themes.
Advanced Building: Create complex contraptions to solve quests.
Customization: Personalize your Sim and everything you build.
Enhanced Visuals: Updated for high-resolution mobile screens.
As a Wandolier, your primary tool is your wand. Use it to collect 'Manas' and build structures instantly. Follow King Roland's quest line to unlock new islands, each with its own theme and unique building challenges.
Unlike the original MySims, Kingdom features more quest-based gameplay. You'll need to build specific contraptions, like bridges or water pipes, to solve puzzles and help the local citizens. Use the build mode to experiment with different mechanical parts.
This Apple Arcade release is primarily based on the expanded Wii version's content and gameplay style.
