My Tamagotchi Forever successfully updates the 90s digital pet craze for the smartphone era without losing the core charm. The loop of feeding, washing, and putting your Tama to bed is as therapeutic as ever, but the addition of 'Tamatown' and AR elements makes the world feel much larger. The evolution system remains the biggest draw—the fact that your care style directly dictates which of the many characters your pet becomes adds a layer of mystery and replayability.

The 'Tama Academy' and career paths (like becoming a scientist or rockstar) give the adult characters a purpose beyond just existing, which was a missing piece in the original toys. While it is free-to-play with some incentivized ads and IAPs, the gameplay is generous enough that you can enjoy the 'Tama Collection' and decorate your town at a steady pace. It’s a nostalgic trip that manages to feel like a modern, fully-featured social sim.

I really love this game, it’s cute and I like seeing what tama I’ll raise next! There are two things about it that bug me though… Firstly, with the Tama Academy Cards, it’s a little annoying that there’s a really low chance of getting a fragments and items from the cards, especially since it’s all about luck picking the cards at random.😔I feel that we should either get the option to watch a video to see the remaining card, or increased chances of finding a fragment, or have more cards to chose from since it takes a really long time for the points to fill the gauge to get a card pack😐 Secondly, I think there should be an option to be if you want to buy an item, it asks if you really want to buy it or not, because I bought a rug with gems that I didn’t even want because I clicked on it on by accident😭 Other than those two things, it’s an awesome game and the ads don’t bother me at all! If you took the time to read this, thank you!!😊

This game has a good concept, it can teach responsibility, but it gets annoying after you really get into it. My Tamagotchi just leveled up to a toddler, and it likes corn now, and the only way to get corn is to watch videos, but when I tried to watch the video, after it stopped playing, the game froze completely and I couldn’t do anything! ( I tried this a second time and the same thing happened) And I’ve seen various other comments about this, and it seems the support is just guiding people to their website to ‘get help.’ Why can’t you just check the game/update it? Please fix this glitch, it’s really annoying, and I know you can feed your Tamagotchi’s with food other then their favorites, but I would like it if I didn’t have to always feed them beginner food. Also, I know you can buy a package to get rid of adds, but my mom won’t let me spend money on games, and I can’t subscribe or follow or whatever the creator because I don’t have an account, and my mom won’t let me make one. So there, not everyone can easily play this game. So please fix this glitch and your customer support because right because I’m uninstalling for right now. I’m not trying to be rude, but I really like this game concept and I just want to play freely. Please fix this glitch. I’m standing up for all the people that have tried to tell you this, but you won’t reply appropriately. Please creators.. I love this game, don’t ruin it!

When Tamagotchis were popular back in the early 2000s I had nearly 15 of them, and bought 2 FRIENDS a couple years ago, so as someone who has been a lifelong fan I was super excited for an app on my phone! But I do have some complaints, and a very annoying bug to talk about. Glitch: My latest Tama just evolved to Memetchi, and I was given the option to study for the Gardener job. My problem is that every time I entered the building to try and change the outfit, the app froze. I couldn't see nor select any outfit options, nor could I exit the room or perform any other in-game function. I had to shut down the app and reopen it every time. I dunno if it’s just Memetchi or if this is every Tama since the firework update. It took about 4 tries over two days before this finally worked, I’m hoping it doesn’t come back. Also, I’m fairly irked that there is no potty training my Tamas anymore. I seem to recall In previous incarnations, after a certain age or number of successful interventions, Tamas would learn to use the potty on their own, I’ve seen zero evidence of this. Otherwise, this app seems to stay true to the soul of the small friends I loved when I was younger. The games are simple yet compelling, the animations are fun and sweet, and the customization is limited but still exciting. C:

The game is cute and very addicting, but there are a few glitches. Half the time you want to switch to a different room, the game crashes and won’t let me out, and I have to do a hard reset on my phone. Then, when a forced add comes, I watch the add, then it freezes at the end, won’t let me get out of the app or let me click on an x, which isn’t even there. Once again, I needed to give my phone a hard reset. When the game DOES function, I have a small complaint about the bathroom. I don’t understand why I have to help a teen or adult use the potty or take a bath. I would think that before they become a teen they should finally be potty trained and be fully capable at bathing themselves. I hope that these concepts can be improved in the future, I am still keeping the game btw, It’s just really annoying when it glitches or I need to help an ADULT on the potty. The game is still cute, I would recommend trying it out, just be warned about these glitches that happen every now and then, and if you find helping grown pets on the toilet, be warned about that, too. Overall, this is still a great game, just has a few minor problems every now and then.

I used to play this game before my first real tamagotchi product, and I actually loved it a lot. Its content rich, and I always loved virtual pets. This was before I found out about actual tamagotchis though. And even though I love the game, I definitely prefer the actual egg. Part of the reason I love tamagotchis so much is because of the cute shells and the fact that it is its own little device. I love the simplicity of just three buttons and the pixels are adorable. It also helps me forget about social media for a while. The physical eggs are also smaller than my phone and more lightweight, therefore much more comfortable in my pocket. Overall I recommend getting an actual tamagotchi, but if it’s not in your budget or you aren’t sure if you will be able to handle the responsibility and want to try it out, then get the app. The app is also just fun to play if you have experience with tamagotchis and wanna try it out since the app is free.

This game is incredible to say the least. I have been trying to find a genuine free to play app for YEARS and kept getting caught up with games like Angry Birds 2, Diner Dash and Fishdom, which everybody knows force you to spend your own hard earned money in order to have fun or progress at all. This game finally delivers exactly what it promises by allowing you to spend coins and gems that you earn by playing mini games, like a classic computer or a Tamagotchi game used to be! You will never need to spend your own money to enjoy all of the benefits of coins or gems. Everything about this app is completely brilliant, from the game structure and not having to spend your money, to the graphics and sound effects. You can tell that the developers actually care and put so much effort and time into making this charming and magical game the best on the App Store. I’m so happy with this game, as someone who grew up with dozens of tamagotchis, you did the community proud! THANK YOU!

Addicting, but filled ads and pay to win

The game is very fun for the first hour but after you have played for awhile the number of ads exponentially increase. The game also includes a career choice for you character, the requirement to complete the career and the character is to buy an outfit that costs 3000 coins, the only way i was able to achieve this was buy using the 2000 coins you are given at the beginning and grinding the piano game. Some of the characters prefer foods like bananas which you can only get by watching ads. There are so many pop up ads and before and after for 3 or 4 seconds a screen pops up printing the add which means you have to sit through that to. Now i don’t know if they had just release the subscription service but it seems like the game gradually introduces in app purchases and gives you gifts if you even just visit the shop. The whole app is based around earning money off the mini games and earning coins , not taking care of you character which takes like a minute. I know the developers responded to the reviews claiming to many adds but i would much rather it just be a 4.99 app instead of having monetized gameplay.

This game has 5 star potential. It has all the basics of a pet care game with the added bonus of multiple creatures to unlock. It features a photo album to fill by taking pics of the various stages of your creature (baby, toddler, teen, and adult) at different places in Tamatown. You get rewards for completing pages in the album. Unfortunately, every time I go to take a pic with my current pet, the game crashes, shuts down and I’m back at my icon screen. After closing the app and restarting it, my changes haven’t saved and I have to take the pic again. The app then crashes again after each attempt to take any pics for the album. And I repeat the cycle of close, relaunch, try. I just want to play the game! It’s not just with pics in Tamatown. The game will often crash anytime I try to watch an ad to double my coins from the arcade and the daily gift. I haven’t been able to spin the prize wheel since the first day I installed the app. It seems the only time an ad doesn’t crash the game is when it’s the ad that plays automatically in between rooms sometimes. Please fix these crashing issues. I really like Tamagotchi and I just want to play!
