78/100

Merge Fairy Tales is an enchanting addition to the merge-puzzle genre, perfect for those who enjoy the 'cleanup and build' loop of games like Merge Dragons. The game transports you to a cursed land that you must heal by combining matching items—everything from flowers and trees to magical artifacts. The core loop is incredibly satisfying; merging three items creates a better version, but merging five gives you a bonus, encouraging strategic board management.

The art style is whimsical and vibrant, and the 'fairy companions' you collect add a cute layer of automation as they help harvest resources. I particularly enjoyed the cooking mini-adventures, which break up the standard merging with specific item-gathering goals. It's a very relaxing experience, designed for low-stress play, though the late-game challenges and events like the Christmas specials provide a nice goal to strive for. If you're looking for a cozy, magical world to slowly cultivate and expand, this is a top-tier choice.

Amazing game

I have enjoyed this game so much. The developers do such a great job offering rewards on social media and engaging with the players. I love all the side quests and bonuses available. I enjoy that they offer daily deals to allow more game play for less money but wish you could purchase several of them if desired. The game has played flawlessly for me, with no crashing or lagging. I love you can watch an add every twenty minutes for 30 free energy but energy is hard to come by for as much as I want to play. I think it would be amazing if you could buy 1000 energy for 5.99 or something like that. The developer has been so kind in responses to Facebook questions and problems. The platform follows through with contest goals and actually follow through and give rewards. I’ve played games that are not good with follow through. Full transparency I wouldn’t enjoy this game nearly as much if I was unwillingly to buy the daily specials. I have never needed to drop big money though like in other games. I will add that I have no problem spending 5-10 every couple days for a beautiful game. This is by far my favorite game right now. Please allow like 1-2 more days in the special lands cause I frequently can’t finish all the goals in those areas in allotted time and it makes me sad. Overall a great escape and very well made and managed game platform. Thanks for a great game!!

Don’t let the ratings scare you!!

I’ve been playing nonstop!!! This game is super adorable. Challenging yet not pull ur hair out type of stuff. Waiting for stuff to get built is reasonable. Ur not having to wait 24 hours for something. Maybe 10 for big stuff, which is reasonable, I think. I had a couple glitches, yet I sent the developers the issues and they either fixed it or told me what I needed to do in the future when this happens and also gave me a coin, diamond, energy gift pack. I was shooketh!! That was a nice surprise. Thank you!! Don’t let the ratings scare you on this game. Try it and you will love it. The characters are adorable, the builds are cute as well and there are other games to play while maintaining the main one. Lots of goals to do and rewards to get and places to explore. I just LOVE it. Great job developing team. Can’t wait for more.

Fun but some drawbacks

I’ve been somewhat addicted to this game, it’s quite fun. However, there are a few things that are problematic. Star this one because it’s important: it doesn’t sync with iCloud or Game Center or whatever. The game is on both my iPhone and iPad, but they are never at the same place in the game. Other issues: One, sometimes when you get a special item, and it brings up the bottle thing, what’s supposed to be in it isn’t there. Nothing. Or you merge to get something special and then you get nothing. Two, and majorly annoying is that the little side quests like Bizarre town, they only last a few days. You can’t possibly play it enough with the energy you have or the time to play it - this time needs to be longer. It’s just ridiculous that there’s so little time. Three, the nature reserve is lovely but it takes forever to build up your animals. You might get one here and there, very occasionally a couple, but it’s too chintzy. Make it more rewarding!! I’ve had mine for weeks and I still have like 1 or 2 of a species. Four, the main level and a too small for everything that winds up on it, and there’s not much space to have to add anything. So rewards are small. It’s just too much stuff on too small a playing surface. Five, some of the things that you have to use energy for are ridiculously demanding of energy. Makes it a major drag to play when. You can only get a few things, as opposed to lower energy costs. Ther could be lots of improvements. Overall it’s fun idea.

Adorable, but …

This game has cute characters, adorable artwork, and smooth gameplay. Sadly, I may not continue to play. The poor translation to English makes me cringe every time a character “talks”. The story progression does not make much sense. If they could work on that this might be one of my favorites. Update: I got past the language issues and played through level 14. It has some features that are Exactly like some other merge games out there. But it also has some unique and creative gameplay. This game has less playing space than ANY other merge game I have played - and I have tried a lot of them. I have come back to try it again a few times and there is just too much happening at once in such a small space. I was hoping more space would open as I played longer. It just gets worse. There is almost never an empty square on the board. Then a side event or 2 will pop up and drop more producers on the board. Then another event that has you produce and build out of multiple mines to progress in that one. I enjoy having all of those things to do but I can’t do the side events. I would need to sell off other pieces to make room, then start over on them when the event is over. You must choose what to save to merge 5 and get an extra piece. I keep everything I can floating in bubbles to save space, but I merge 3 a LOT or just collect/sell pieces I would rather keep when the board fills up completely. It is super frustrating. Why not give us a little more room to enjoy all that the game has to offer?

Love the game, but also frustrating

I play this a lot as well as other merging games, and as much as I love this game, it’s really frustrating watching videos for prizes and not getting the things you’re supposed to get or, in the energy events with winning the unlimited energy for whatever period of time, I’ve never once actually been given it. It’s also pretty difficult and costly to level up and get anywhere without having to spend tons of money. Game would be amazing if they fixed the issues with the prizes and energy issues. Edit: this is how I first felt about this game but after spending a week and half trying g to get this so called “compensation” on the game that they told me to email them about, I have yet to receive it and instead keep going through circles with customer care saying that I need to send screen recordings and screen shots when it’s not allowing me to send screen recordings to them. I was told all I had to do originally was send an email with my ID for compensation. That never happened and have been being made to jump through all these hoops for them. Done with this game after spending an embarrassing amount of money and getting no help whatsoever from customer care. Changing my review to one star. Edit: I understand all of that. I have done all of those things and nothing has changed. I have done everything that has been asked of me, and yet still no solution or things I’ve been told I would be compensated with. It’s extremely frustrating and ridiculous. Edit: I finally received the compensation. Thank you.

Great game - with issues

I love playing this game. It’s relaxing, not terribly difficult, and a lot of fun. But a lot of times, the feature that allows you to watch video ads to speed up timers or give you bonus pieces, just doesn’t work. It’s not a deal breaker, but still a pain. Particularly if you are waiting for something that takes an hour. Other than that, my game pretty much works fine. I’ve seen other players say that the developers have given them rewards as compensation, but I’ve yet to receive anything. There is also no option on the game to contact the developers with issues or troubleshooting.

Too many things at once and kinda racist design

So initially it was fun to start but there’s always like 4 side events happening on the same island and you never really have a chance to use your energy to actually clear the fog/curse unless you just ignore the side quests Then they launched their sports event and the second figure you unlock is a basketball player, and he’s styled as a large Black man with oversized red lips. The Genie or “Magic Lamp” also has oversized red lips - but long and skinny, like the balloons clowns use to make animals out of. Either way it’s a pretty racist design and I uninstalled after I unlocked the basketball player cuz having his design like that (as also so far the only non-white natural flesh tone character in the game - very sus). I’d include screenshots if I could. It’s developed out of Hong Kong so there’s a lot of grammar and syntax errors in the characters dialogue but I can get past that. This though? Maybe they don’t /now/ that that’s racist but a little research and that could have been avoided. Nah. I’m out.

This game definitely gets you in the beginning. There are so many different things going on and easy to get energy and coins. However after about level 6, it finally starts to levels out. Trying to get more energy without having to spend money is getting harder to do and of course everything takes more energy to build. I’m almost to level 8 and I’m finding myself almost running out of room for all the different things that needs to be built. However the concept of all the different fairy tale characters is intriguing enough for me that I will probably still continue to play just not that much everyday since I’ll have to wait for my energy to replenish itself. I play a number of merging games like this and it’s pretty much the same issue with the energy across the different games.
