Meowdoku! is a clever hybrid logic puzzle game that combines the grid rules of Sudoku with spatial deduction mechanics. Players place aloof cats into colored grid segments so that every segment contains exactly one feline while strictly obeying proximity constraints. Crisp presentation and charming visuals make every deduction a delight.

Our Expert Score

92/100

Meowdoku is a brilliant, understated masterpiece of logic design that successfully updates classic grid puzzles for a modern mobile audience. By fusing the constraint logic of Sudoku with the structural tracking of Minesweeper, it constructs a fresh puzzle vocabulary around 'exclusive cat territories'. Players must navigate colored segments ensuring each area contains exactly one cat, while strictly adhering to the 'Aloof Rule'—meaning felines cannot share rows, columns, or touch diagonally.

This creates a remarkably deep tactical loop where guessing is punished through a heart-based system, requiring players to fully map out constraints before committing. Coupled with non-intrusive ad placement, crisp haptic feedback, and a clean minimalist visual palette, it avoids modern mobile engagement traps to offer a pure, zen-like state of cognitive flow. It is a rare puzzle game that feels simultaneously cozy and intellectually demanding.

I think I’m becoming addicted to this game ngl

Genuinely I love this game so much, I downloaded it before they added the daily streak, had it for 3 days and I was already at level 500, now I’m over 1000 already 😼 So imagine my how excited I was when I noticed you guys consistently updating it I like that you changed the ranking of the leadboard from how many cats you have from completed levels to how many fish you have, it makes way more sense. I love that when you use the hint button it actually explains to you why there is or isn’t a cat there, not just giving it to you. I love the voice acting that got added as well, and the ads aren’t that bad, yeah there’s quite a few but I like that it only after you complete a level. My only thought for this coming from someone who’s gotten to levels over 1000, the levels do start to repeat after what feels like 100 I think? But it’s hardly noticeable and it’s not like you’ll remember it enough to immediately figure it out, I don’t expect you guys to have 1000 different levels but that was literally my only critique

Addicting but Ads ruin it.

I have never rated an app before, but the ads on this app frustrated me to the point of leaving a review. The game itself is addicting. It’s fun, cute, and actually becomes pretty challenging as you get deeper into it. I genuinely enjoy playing it, which makes this even more disappointing. I don’t mind watching ads to support a free game—that’s expected. But these ads are excessive. They go on forever, and even after clicking “Skip” or the “X,” they often continue through multiple screens before you can actually close them. It starts to feel less like supporting a free game and more like fighting the ad just to get back to playing. I even tried contacting support, hoping to give feedback directly, but that was another frustrating experience. The chatbot asked whether its suggested articles solved my issue. I selected “No, I need to talk to someone,” and it immediately responded with, “We’re glad the information was helpful. If you have any more questions, feel free to reach out to us anytime!” There was no way to actually speak with someone, so the support chat felt completely pointless. This could easily be a 5-star game because the gameplay is genuinely enjoyable. Unfortunately, the excessive, difficult-to-close ads and the lack of real customer support take away from what would otherwise be an excellent experience. I hope the developers reconsider the ad experience and improve their support system, because this game deserves better.

The game has already changed

I’ve only had this game for a few weeks and the developers have already decided to completely change the game. There is no longer an undo button for when you accidentally misclick and can’t remember what the board was like before. There is also no longer an option to draft or practice the moves you’re gonna make before you do them, so that all has to be done in your own head now. It helped immensely to be able to visualize it. The developers removed these options to make you opt to watch an ad for a hint or cat placement. In my opinion, very scummy considering there are already tons of ads. You get an ad when you restart and every time finish a level. These are not skippable ads and I end up closing out the game just to avoid being forced to watch an ad that I didn’t agree to and am not getting any kind of reward for. Seems the devs realized the game was gaining popularity and decided to make more money off it, but sacrificed gameplay and the overall experience of the game. Not to mention, you eventually run out of unique puzzles and they become repeats which is just boring to play over and over. Bring back the things that made the game more enjoyable earlier on and introduce more unique levels!

Fun but terrible!!

The game is fun. The ads are terrible. I don’t understand why this is the model. Ads are scamming, some of the ads are perverted, really creepy adult orientated games put on a fun little cat logic puzzle game. Then there are ones that try to scare you into thinking your phone is full of viruses and it makes sense because the game acts like a virus. They remind me of old pop-up ads from 25 years ago. I would never give money or buy any of these products advertised in this way. Eventually, the sound quit working probably because of all the scam ads I don’t know really. But it wasn’t as much fun without any sound. Seems like there could be a better model making money selling games that are cool than selling awful. Terrible ads I had to break away delete the app and good riddance unfortunately. Ps i have read through the other reviews and some of the developer responses and I don’t trust these liars. They act like they don’t know they have perverted ads on a game rated 4+. And worse they act like they don’t know they have scare based ads that pop up during game play disguised as a message. They act like it is the players responsibility to screen shot it like it is a big surprise to them. Those types of ads should be illegal and the developers should be responsible. Either way they know and they lie in my opinion

Could be fun but impossible

The premise of the game is interesting… But at some point you have such big boards with only so many colors so… You’ll get like the first two cats because there’s no other option because those colors only have like one square… But once you cross out the ones that they can’t be you still end up with like 12 different options of where the next cat could be in like each color. And you only have three times you can mess up… So it’s not like about skill where if you figure out the logic, you can understand where the cats should be and get a perfect score… That’s essentially impossible once you get past like the eighth level or 10th level… at some point you’re just kind of like guessing squares because there’s no other way to figure out where the cat should be. Basically, these aren’t puzzles. The first few levels, sure. But once they make the boards big enough and only have like six colors on the board, it’s just a guessing game.. and then you run out of lives and then it asked you to watch an ad to get more lives and yeah, that’s all it is. It’s just ad revenue. I get that ads are necessary for games to be free, but the free game itself should actually have a component of like requiring skill or logic and not just being like a guessing game. I really like the game until this point.

🐱🧩💗 I’ve been playing Meowdoku for a while now, and it has honestly become one of my favorite games to relax with. 🐾💕 It’s the perfect mix of calming and challenging—easy to pick up when I want to unwind, but engaging enough to keep me thinking. Every puzzle feels rewarding, and before I know it, I’ve spent way more time playing than I planned because it’s so low-key addicting in the best way. The adorable cat theme makes everything even more enjoyable and gives the game such a cozy, charming vibe. What I love most is how unique Meowdoku feels compared to other puzzle games. 🌸✨ I’ve played a lot of mobile games, but I’ve never found one quite like this. It manages to be fun, relaxing, and mentally stimulating all at the same time. The design is cute, the gameplay is smooth, and it always gives me something to look forward to. If you’re looking for a game that’s both soothing and entertaining, Meowdoku is definitely worth trying. It’s an easy 5-star game for me, and I find myself coming back to it again and again! 🩷🐱🌟

Fun for a bit. Stopper at level 100

Fun but too many ads. However, I was frustrated because I couldn’t figure out how to get each add to go away. I would wait wait. I thought of closed the app ams brought it back up it would restart the add but it doesn’t. So now as soon as an add plays , I swipe up to close out, then go back in. Stupid to have to do that but it works. Also sometimes I click once but my hand must shake a little and hit it twice. So far it hasn’t happened enough to take away more than one heart but every-time I takes away a heart it has been an accidentally second tap. Maybe make it so you have to click three times to say it is a cat. I dont know maybe that would be annoying too. Also this may be dumb but for some reason the red x when you get one wrong is super distracting to me. Can you make it so of after it shows red, you can click it again to turn it white. Weird thing to be distracted by but for some reason it is. Lastly, Does it get more challenging? So far up to level 100 it is pretty easy haven’t lost a level but used a few hearts. Do you think it would make it more challenging to make more boxes or not always lumping colors together?

Deceiving, don’t play

With the amount of 5 star reviews this game receives I can only come to the conclusion that the people writing the reviews have not played the game long enough to realize how insufferable the ads become. Early on the game tries to hook you by allowing you to breeze through levels without facing any advertisements, then slowly forces more and more ads upon the player. It gets to a point where you are watching 5 second ads after every single level. This wouldn’t be that bad if after clicking the X button to close the ad, even more popups are shown that must be closed out of. The idea of the game is genuinely fun, but there are other apps where I could play the same exact game without having to pay with ads, or I could spend a little bit of money for zero advertisements where I could actually enjoy my time playing the game. The game is also not as challenging as it’s made out to be, it’s simple pattern recognition that gets repetitive after the first 20 levels. If you are playing the game to actually improve cognitive function, just play Sudoku, it’s much more challenging, and actually has a learning curve that is satisfying and worth your time.
