The game offers multiple difficulty settings—Easy, Medium, Hard, and Expert—making it suitable for all skill levels. With features like Daily Challenges, Endless Mode, and helpful power-ups like hints and notes, Crossmath is a perfect way to improve your mental math and keep your brain active every day.

Dinsun Expert Review

Our Expert Score

84/100

Math Puzzle Games: Crossmath is the kind of game that makes you feel smarter just by playing it. It’s essentially a crossword puzzle, but with numbers and operators instead of letters and words. For anyone who enjoys Sudoku or basic arithmetic, it’s incredibly satisfying. The difficulty levels are well-scaled; 'Easy' is great for a quick mental warm-up, while 'Expert' will actually have you reaching for a piece of scratch paper.

The 'Daily Challenge' is a great hook to keep you coming back, and the 'Endless Mode' is perfect for when you just want to get into a flow state. I also appreciate the 'Hints' and 'Advanced Notes' features, which prevent you from getting hopelessly stuck on a single grid. The UI is clean and distraction-free, which is exactly what you want in a brain-training game. It’s an excellent tool for keeping your mind sharp, whether you're a student or just someone who wants to improve their mental math skills.

Very responsive developers!
Wed Jun 26 2024 Search Function Lacking

Two days after leaving a review about app crashes, the developers released an update that fixed the crashes. This could be a coincidence, but a few other reviews mention how active the development team is in fixing issues and refining the app. Super cool! It would be neat to have more milestone awards to try and get (like the daily puzzle trophies, but for different difficulties / etc). Also, I would love to be able to use my coins or graduation caps to buy different skins for the puzzles or permanently unlock new features / ways of playing / skins. Just a suggestion! I'm a new daily player and adore the function of this app.

The Levels of Difficulty Seem To Be Confused & Events Impossible

I’ve waited about a month before writing this review to make sure I had really experienced everything. While the gameplay is fun (provided you like math puzzles of course), the difficulty levels seem to be all over the place at times. I had “Expert” puzzles I finished in under a minute, and I had “Medium” puzzles that took actual work and several minutes to solve. The events are also an issue. I spent nearly an hour for several different days trying to complete the postcard or whatever they’re called. Not one time did I actually finish to get a reward, and I’m a completionist/perfectionist. If you have to spend over 5 hours to finish the event, any fun is long gone, and it feels like a chore. Overall I’m sure there are other similar games with a much more reliable game. Follow-up: I just got an email and it was talking about more questions about their premium service. I didn’t even know the game had a premium service, and I never asked them any questions about it. It says it’s from a team member, but I’m fairly sure it’s an automated email considering it has nothing to do with what I wrote in the review. I wish I could change it to 0 stars, but I is the lowest it goes.

UPDATE: There is not much to change here; the math is still fun for my grandchildren and a good brain exercise for me. I am still managing the ads at an acceptable level, although I am not happy with the explanation of the “free from annoying ads” issue. They are looking at the heating and battery issue associated with game. I do want to add that customer service and the development team have been very responsive to my concerns and have been forthcoming with specific responses. They have been timely and professional and very patient with my questions and concerns. Now if they can just let me delete all those “events” that keep popping up, I will be quite content with this game. Original Review⬇️ I have only had this game two days so I cannot fully evaluate it. 1-The math side of the game is fun and keeps my brain refreshed with math skills. It does have varying levels of difficulty which is great for my grandchildren. I had my 6 year old playing the easy level and she was doing quite well and excited to be “solving equations” as she put it. 2-Based on the reviews, I see many people are unhappy about the overuse of ads. I will cut some slack here because I have not yet been bothered too much; although it may happen in the near future. The game is new so perhaps the company will make adjustments to the ads. I will give them time 3- My biggest complaint is the start of added features…all these events that have already started to pile up on my screen. I do not join groups to play online so I wish I could opt out of these features. 4-I absolutely agree with other users that the game in its present form uses a great deal of battery life and does get both my iphone and my ipad hot. This does concern me as I do not know what is going on in the background to make this happen. This game does not have action-packed graphics or audio so the basic game should not cause such a drain unless my device data is being harvested.

Love the game but…

I love how challenging this game is. It gets the gears in my brain working - plus there are equations/combos I never would’ve thought of! However, I have two problems with the app: 1. What do I spend the coins on? I’ve searched all over the app and the app’s entry here in the store and yet, I can’t find anything that says what you can spend coins on. So for now, I’ll just collect them. 2. The excessive and lengthy ads are getting annoying. I usually don’t mind ads but it’s gotten ridiculous! For one thing, they’re often longer than each game. Especially when you have to watch the full 1 minute “here’s what you can do in this game app” but then have to wait another 15 seconds of just a screenshot with the game’s app store entry popping up be fore the X to leave the ad appears. Also, what’s the point of having the “skip ad” option after a few seconds if you still have to wait before the X to leave appears? For the 3x coins ads, I sometimes have to watch a second ad just to get the bonus. Not to mention that after I’m given the 30 coins, ANOTHER AD IMMEDIATELY STARTS! As I stated, I usually don’t mind ads and I get why you have them, but the length and amount is ridiculous. If possible, please fix this.

Enjoyable game —- too many ads
Sun Sep 08 2024 puzzled***

Like many reviewers, I enjoy playing these math games very much! However, the advertisement situation is getting out of hand and it’s affecting enjoyment of game play!! When tapping “continue,” too often tapping the (x) to exit the advertisement, my browser to “purchase” the product is accessed. Going in and out of the game several times before the ad was stopped and game play available to resume. Lately, after completing a game, I do not have the option to “continue “ and view shortened ads. There is only the option of the “ad claim x 3” option. This dramatically slows game play and exponentially decreases my enjoyment of the game. I have tried closing out of the game and/or shutting down my device to try to reset the “continue” for shorter ads option with no luck.

A few things that can be fixed …

I always want to open a chest, and you have to complete 20 puzzles first. It takes some time to complete the expert levels , and sometimes even the hard ones! I think that maybe this game could do less levels to complete to open a chest or make it give you a chest when you pay 5 coins in the game . Also think about little kids who want to play the game doing easy or medium mode . They might take a long time to get a chest unlocked because you have to play 20 times! In this game , sometimes when u open up the game, it just closes it right away . But it helps you learn math because it can make u learn division, addition, subtraction, and multiplication! To me it’s a great game otherwise the problems.

Someone cares

Just got the game today. I Have tried many brain games and can say that fast forward on ads is perfect plus (so far) ads start muted. Excellent!! Thank you for a very playable and challenging game. I will play for awhile to make sure I’m addicted to the play (likely) and I’ll buy the ad free version. Why? Someone at this game company has shown that they care about players and do not abuse them with ads that just peeve you to the point of just deleting the app and moving on. I highly recommend this game as good playable ad based games are few and far between! Congrats from me!

I don’t like this design
Fri Jun 28 2024 JDawgy72

I don’t see any good reason for them to combine puzzle size with difficulty. Example: easy puzzles seem to be tiny and have few missing numbers. If I’m actually doing math, it’s very easy to work out what the missing numbers are. But then the puzzle size is so small I don’t actually get to practice very much, which is what I really want. If I jump up to medium difficulty, the puzzle size is better, but now there are too many missing numbers so I need a pencil and paper to sort out what the right solution is. My opinion/skill might change if I played this for a while, but I’m deleting it: There’s no way I can get into a groove playing this game…Bad design with difficulty… and also way too many ads.
