Master Whist is a premium card game experience developed by Ken Fox. It features several versions of the classic game, including 4-player Whist, 2-player Whist, and the strategic Bid Whist. Designed for purists, the app contains no advertisements and does not require an internet connection, making it ideal for offline play. It serves as an excellent introduction for players looking to understand the mechanics of trick-taking games like Bridge, all while offering a clean, distraction-free interface.

Our Expert Score

80/100

Master Whist by Ken Fox is a breath of fresh air for classic card game lovers. In an era where many card apps are bloated with ads and 'pay-to-win' mechanics, this is a pure, ad-free experience that focuses entirely on the gameplay. It offers Classic 4-player Whist, 2-player variants, and the popular Bid Whist, making it a versatile app for any fan of the genre. The AI is well-tuned, providing a solid challenge without feeling like it's 'cheating' by knowing your hand.

I highly recommend this for anyone looking to learn Bridge, as Whist serves as the fundamental mechanical ancestor to Bridge. The UI is clean and functional, and the 'no internet needed' feature makes it the perfect travel companion. It’s a simple, honest, and high-quality implementation of a classic game that deserves a spot in every card player's library.

Very well done with three popular Whist versions. It is a wonderful way to get my son used to winning tricks with a partner while I am teaching him how to play Bridge.
