Mammoth Mini Golf AR is a fantastic example of how Augmented Reality can turn a boring living room into a prehistoric playground. The tech behind ARKit 2 is used to great effect here; being able to anchor a golf course to your coffee table and have it stay perfectly in place as you walk around it to find the perfect angle is still magical. The courses are inventive, filled with mammoths and cavemen that serve as 'living' hazards that you have to time your shots around.
The scaling feature is particularly clever—playing a 'mini' version on an envelope is fun for a quick distraction, but blowing the course up to the size of a basketball court in a park is where the game really shines. It’s a local pass-and-play delight that encourages physical movement and family interaction, making it one of the better 'party' uses for AR on the App Store.
Augmented Reality gameplay using ARKit 2
7 prehistoric themed courses with moving hazards
Local pass-and-play multiplayer for family fun
Fully resizable game world for any environment
Global leaderboards and collectible trophies
Find a well-lit flat surface and move your phone to scan the area. Use the pinch gesture to scale the course to your preferred size. Once placed, physically walk around the table to line up your shot, adjusting the power bar based on the distance to the hole while avoiding the roaming mammoths.
The gameplay involves aiming and putting in a 3D space superimposed on the real world. Players must account for environmental hazards like moving animals and prehistoric terrain, competing for the lowest score across seven different themed levels.
No, the course can be resized to fit as small as an envelope or as large as a basketball court.
The AR is phenomenal in this game. The actual mini golf holes however keep me from giving it five stars. Too easy and short Worth 2 bucks FOR SURE
Way to go Ezone. Variety of fun courses, cute graphics and giving us the option of turning off ar. I haven’t seen any mini golf games as good as this. And thanks for making this a buy once. Hmm, for those who are having issues, could be background refresh or security settings. Also clear cache when you’re done and then you should be able to do new location.
Not sure why it didn’t become a hit! Maybe too short and easy but the AR is amazing. I’ve played with friends in a empty parking lot and made it a huge course, couldn’t see over the walls and the mammoths tower above you. I’ve played inside with nephews and had lots of fun. It looks like it isn’t supported anymore, it’s worth having anyway.
Easy to play. Gives my brain something to do.
Fun little game. Fun way to show someone an AR type of game. Fun and amusing to play. I like it!!
Game loads and ask to put face to camera. Then afterwards you select how many players and then it freezes, crashes, and closes. Ridiculous! Paid app should work not take people’s money! Don’t buy!
As soon as I launched the game everything glitched I’m not sure if this is a problem on the new iPhone 8 but just doesn’t work so I lost some money for nothing really.
New version not working on XS. Pre-XMAS version was working and was able to detect surfaces. New version no longer successful.
