Bug fixes.
After I finished the first installment of the series, I rushed to play the start playing the second one. The diabolical box is as good as the curious village, with more puzzles (some are difficult like chess) and new mini games. The end of the story is still a little bit sad but very touching like its predecessor. Overall, I think that playing the Professor Layton game can make you both play and learn at the same time.
Literally one of my favorite games! I’m so happy they’ve started bringing them to mobile so I can play them all over again. The puzzles range from quick and easy to long and challenging. However, the actual draw of this game is its story, which is funny and emotional and intriguing and mysterious. Big fan and I am looking forward to more of these games in the future!
This is a near perfect port of the original DS game! My only gripe is the “true” solution for one of the puzzles near the end isn’t the same as the original! It was such a cool way to solve the puzzle and provided one those “omg” moments that’s unforgettable. I won’t spoil it for those who have never played the original, but the current solution doesn’t even make sense and robs today’s players of one of the greatest moments of the Professor Layton series.
I loved these beautiful and challenging games back when they were on DS, and am so incredibly excited to play them again! The pictures are so beautifully clear and the puzzles are the same balance of challenge and uniquity! Absolutely love the adaptation...
I love the Layton series and this entry in particular. My only gripe is that I have an auditory disorder which causes my nose to bleed when I process noise at certain frequencies. Every sound in this remastered version is led in, unfortunately, with a very jarring sting that triggers my nosebleeds. So I can’t listen to the game! But it’s okay. Everything else is polished and wonderful! Thank you Level-5!
I loved playing these on my DS, I’m so excited to see these being out on the App Store. The hundreds of puzzles, beautiful environments and character designs, and the interesting story make this game worth buying. I hope we get to see more games as well!
I loved this game when it came out on the DS. It introduced me to the Professor Layton series, and this is a fantastic port. The story is great, the animation is awesome, and the controls work very well. Definitely a must buy for fans of the series or people who like puzzle driven stories.
This game. Man, this game. What else can I say? This is my second personal favorite Layton game, next to Unwound Future. (Please do that one next, btw) I’ve sold every puzzle, finished every mini game, and even still have the original DS copy with me. The story in this game is beyond phenomenal, as expected from you guys. Especially the ending. The wholesome and heartwarming finish to an challenging yet rewarding game. In the future, I might even do a Layton cosplay because he made that much of an impact to me. From, A fellow gentleman
