LEGO Batman: Beyond Gotham takes the Caped Crusader into outer space. Brainiac has used the power of the Lantern Rings to shrink worlds, and it's up to the Justice League and the most notorious villains to join forces and stop him. Our Expert Score

90/100

LEGO Batman: Beyond Gotham is arguably one of the most content-packed LEGO titles ever released on mobile. It successfully translates the console experience into a portable format without losing the charm, humor, or scale. With over 150 unlockable characters, ranging from the obscure members of the Lantern Corps to the heavy hitters of the Justice League, the sense of discovery is constant. The story mode takes you across iconic DC locations and deep into space, providing a refreshing change of pace from the usual streets of Gotham.

The gameplay follows the classic LEGO formula—smash objects, build tools, and solve light puzzles—but the 'Suit' system adds a layer of variety that keeps things fresh. Batman and Robin can swap between various specialized suits to interact with the environment in different ways. While the touch controls are serviceable, the game truly shines with a physical controller. It’s a love letter to DC Comics fans, filled with inside jokes and a massive roster that makes every session feel like a new adventure.

Lego Batnan 2 not bad but needs serious improvements
Tue Nov 21 2023 Marshall D.W.H.

LEGO Batman is a great series and DC Games never disappoint, the game is fun and all, and I have no complaints there. However, my major issues are first the counter attack its supposed to be automated somehow and you just do it and I wish there was a way to do it manually that part I wish they would change or improve somehow. Second, is starting a new game which is impossible, unless you delete the app and then redownload it!!! Highly infuriating. Warner Bros., is a great company with awesome contents but the gaming department especially the mobile gaming part of the department needs work I want to see more updates on a weekly basis, because I swear every time Apple releases a new iOS update or new iOS the LEGO games get slower and slower and worse and worse the apps need to be updated more to keep up with the ever changing apple iOS software. Big issue in my opinion.

I’m in pain

I joined and it kicked me out, then I joined again and it worked. That was the least of my issues. When I actually PLAYED the game the cutscenes were black screens with subtitles. After the cutscene the screen would turn black with no sound and I would have to close out the app completely and rejoin. After a while I realized that I could skip the cutscenes by double tapping the subtitles at the bottom of the screen, however a problem occurred with that too. I’m at the ninth level and I complete it, but a cutscene comes on… the cutscene had no words spoken in it, there were no subtitles for me to double tap and skip the cutscene. The screen remained black when the “cutscene” was over and no audio was heard. So I close out the app and restart it but it says I didn’t complete the level. I have been stuck on the same level, I have been stuck with the title screen mocking me, saying I’m 9.5% finished with the game. When I played the levels themselves, they were entertaining and there weren’t any glitches but now I can’t play anymore. Download this app if you want to pay to play 9.5% of a game.

Looks fun but..

After beating LEGO Batman: DC Super Heroes , I wanted to play another LEGO Batman game so I went to the App Store and found this game. I thought it looked really fun and brought it. After letting it download, I went to open the game and it loaded, I clicked new game, then when asked for controls, I clicked classic. It stared loading but then crashed after a few seconds, I tried again and it did the same thing. I deleted it then re downloaded the game. It did the same thing . I deleted it again, powered off my iPad and re downloaded the game for the second time. So now I don’t know what to do because I paid $4.99 for a game that won’t open

Performance Issue Report on iPhone 15 Pro Max - Needs Optimization for iOS 18
Tue Sep 02 2025 theCaiDog

To the Development Team at Warner Bros. Games / TT Games, First of all, thank you for creating this fantastic game. I'm a huge fan of the LEGO® Batman series. I am writing to report a performance issue that is affecting the gameplay experience on the latest Apple hardware. I am playing LEGO® Batman™ 3: Beyond Gotham on an iPhone 15 Pro Max with iOS 18.6.2 installed. The game suffers from noticeable frame rate drops and stuttering during gameplay and cutscenes. This is particularly frustrating because the iPhone 15 Pro Max is equipped with the powerful A17 Pro chip, which should be more than capable of running this game flawlessly. Given that this is an older title, I suspect the issue is likely due to a lack of software optimization and compatibility with the newer iOS operating system and chipset architecture. Could you please look into this and release a compatibility update to ensure the game runs smoothly on modern devices? Many players like myself would be incredibly grateful to enjoy this classic game without performance issues on our current phones. Thank you for your time and consideration. Sincerely, A loyal fan

Great ( if the game is not working for you please read)

This is a great game the graphics, the characters, and sound and music. But... the custom characters need to be brought back because it’s just not the same. And also the people who have bought the game but it doesn't work for them here is my suggestion. Play the game on a iPhone 8 or 8 plus that’s what I have and it works just great! It kicked me out at first but I rejoined and it worked! Also som of the levels weren't really working properly but I just restarted them and they worked just fine. It also let me have the game free but that might be because I’ve owned it before and at that time it didn’t work but the only difference was because it was on a different device.

Still Supporting?

I love LEGO games and even the mobile ones. I bought three a while back. LEGO Marvel Superheroes, Batman 3: Beyond Gotham, and Ninjago: Shadow of Ronin. All of them mobile. For a while none of them were supported for iPhone X. Until not too long after LEGO Marvel Superheroes was supported. Yay! But the other two still haven’t been. And it has been months since LEGO Marvel Superheroes was updated. And the iPhone X has been out quite a while now for most apps to catch up. I really hope I didn’t waste my money as I can’t ask for a refund. Nothing said that it wouldn’t be playable on the iPhone X. It just didn’t say “not supported” like most games that can’t be played on iPhone X. Or for those that do mention “not supported” usually just mean that the game IS playable but not supported to the full screen of the iPhone X. Just please update Batman 3 and Shadow of Robin.

I like this game

I like the game but their are some problems. The level the bat monster is really hard. Even when you know how to do it. In the game, Krypto The Super Dog and Ace The Bat Hound are NOT available. You can NOT drive the Batmobile and Batbike and Batwing and batboat like in the previous game. Now to the GREAT things. When you lose all your hearts you DO NOT have to start the level over. Your character falls apart and you lose some Lego studs and you have to wait a couple seconds for your character to appear again. You have a choice to buy characters with Lego studs or money. And the game DOES NOT crash in our experience. All so, the game has closed caption and has the name of the character who is talking.

Its a mobile version what do you expect

This game is actually a good bit more than i expected. As far as im aware this is just a mobile port of the 3ds version which while being less extensive than the console version still is a complete and fun lego game in its own right. For a mobile lego game its perfectly fine. I cant always take my computer with me and i wanna play a game on a plane or on trips this is perfect. Its not a 5 in terms of all other lego games but its good unto itself and worth playing
