King of Crowns is a surprisingly deep 'lane-battler' that mashes together tower defense and card-based strategy. You aren't just placing towers; you're summoning legendary heroes and casting spells to defend your throne in real-time. The tactical depth comes from the 'Counter' system—sending knights to stop archers, or using a fire spell to melt an armored giant. It’s all about resource management and timing.
The art style is fantastic, using a high-contrast 'paper-theatre' look that gives the medieval theme a unique identity. The progression is satisfying, with a huge tree of upgrades for your castle and your army. While the late-game levels can be quite difficult, requiring a lot of trial and error with your deck, the game never feels unfair. It's a polished, fast-paced strategy game that rewards quick thinking and long-term planning in equal measure. If you like Clash Royale but want a deeper single-player campaign, this is the one.
Dynamic real-time lane combat
Over 50 unique heroes and units to collect
Deep deck-building and skill-tree upgrades
Epic boss sieges and fortress defense
Stunning stylized 3D graphics
Don't focus all your troops on one lane. The AI often sends a 'distraction' unit to the middle lane while preparing a massive push on the flank. Keep enough 'Mana' in reserve to deploy a group of fast-moving scouts to the side lanes at a moment's notice.
Winning battles earns you 'Royal Gold.' Spend this in the Armory to increase the health of your castle walls. If your walls are strong, you can afford to let a few small enemies through while you save resources for a devastating counter-attack with your Elite Knights.
Yes, you can challenge other players in the 'Arena' for rank and exclusive legendary cards.
As an avid player I can confirm that this app is worth it
Our family plays Five Crowns a lot - I love this app!! Easy to use!!
Why did I get charged for this app
Nice app for keeping score, but it doesn’t keep historical game statistics. Really hoping to find an app that keeps track of all the games we played.
