・Added a news feature to the title screen.
・Added Bluetooth controller support.
The King of Fighters 2002 remains one of the most beloved entries in the franchise for its massive roster and refined '3-on-3' battle system. This ACA NEOGEO port is a fantastic way to experience a competitive fighting game peak on mobile. The touch controls are surprisingly responsive, but the game truly shines if you connect a Bluetooth controller.
The 'UM' balance and the sheer variety of characters make for endless strategic combinations. The sprites and backgrounds are vibrant and full of personality. While the AI can be notoriously 'SNK-hard,' the addition of save states makes learning the complex combos and timing much more manageable for newcomers. It’s a piece of fighting game history that still feels fresh and fast-paced today.
Faithful arcade emulation of KOF 2002
Massive roster of over 40 characters
Advanced 3-on-3 team battle mechanics
Global online leaderboards and rankings
MFi and Bluetooth controller support
Use two bars of your power gauge to enter MAX Mode. During this time, you can cancel special moves into other special moves, allowing for massive damage combos. Practice the timing in the training mode to ensure you don't waste your meter.
Your team order matters. Put your 'Battery' character first to build meter, your 'Balanced' character second, and your 'Anchor' (the character you're most skilled with) third to use all the meter you've built for a comeback.
Yes, if you have two controllers connected, you can enjoy local versus play just like in the arcades.
It’s pretty good for what it is. Very clean UI, very good emulation, all of that. The game itself is very good, though difficult to be able to master (especially if you’re playing this on a phone). There isn’t a training mode, which, was disappointing but I wasn’t surprised since ACA never tends to add any training mode. Dashing is pretty hard to do in this version due to the digital stick, though. Overall pretty good, though as a K9999 main, I tend to struggle a little bit due to the not so great digital stick.
Super cool that this exists, but having the raw arcade mode with no other options leads to difficulties. Without a training mode or a command list) figuring out moves is super hard while the AI is ruthless on just the first opponent. Controller support would be amazing, especially since comboing with a virtual pad is nearly impossible. Still, it's one of the best kof games, and I'm excited to see more come to mobile.
If you guys can add controller support to where I can use my Xbox controller to play I’ll give it five stars super great game other that that although it would be nice to have controller support to be able to enjoy the game to its full potential
Great adaptation for the IOS. This game becomes unresponsive to input once you add a second controller. I would pay for the option to add the Player 2 functionality when having 2 controllers connected.
I have the razor controller and there’s a way you can use it it’s at the bottom on right hand side there’s an icon cable support that lets you connect to it.
I know this is the original one is not the magic plus 2 but It has to have at least 2 power ups other than that this game is good one of the best arcade games that I have played on iphone
Whoever is porting all these titles is doing a great job. Definitely needs a training mode for all of them though please!
People pick up these kinds of games with intent to learn & master, or minimal be competitive. This is a FGC game, not casual corner. I highly doubt, swarms of casuals will buy this game. The core FGC player buys this game. You cater to your market. ❌ No UM version (sad) ❌ To NOT at MINIMUM have practice mode? (lazy devs in my eyes) Hamster could had easily ported over the 2002 version that comes w/ practice mode. Instead they chose to port the outdated, inferior version. Hamster ‘decided’ to port the oldest version of the game, for whatever reason, when they approached SNK to do negotiations on a port. Lost opportunity, and a weak approach - this was Hamster decision —> not SNK.
