If you are a fan of J-Pop or the virtual singer scene, 'KAMITSUBAKI CITY ENSEMBLE' is an absolute treat. The production value is sky-high; every track feels like a music video come to life. The rhythm mechanics are precise and satisfying, with a 'flick' system that feels much more natural than in other competing titles.
What really sets this apart from games like 'Project Sekai' is the atmospheric, slightly melancholic vibe of the city itself. It feels like a cohesive world rather than just a menu for songs. The tracklist is excellent, featuring some of the best hits from KAF and the rest of the studio. It’s a bit storage-heavy due to the high-quality assets, but it’s worth the space. For rhythm game enthusiasts, the 'Expert' difficulty provides a genuine challenge that will test your fingers to their limit.
Extensive library of KAMITSUBAKI Studio songs
Multiple difficulty modes: Easy, Normal, Hard, Expert
Interactive narrative tied to rhythm gameplay
Stunning anime-style visuals and character art
Customizable judgment timing and interface
Choose a song and difficulty. Notes will fly toward the judgment line; tap, hold, or flick depending on the note type. Time your hits with the rhythm of the music to maintain your combo and achieve a high rank.
Completing songs earns you 'City Points.' Use these to unlock new districts in Kamitsubaki City, which in turn reveals new story chapters and hidden tracks. Customize your UI with themes based on your favorite virtual singers.

I really want to like this game as KAFU is my favorite voice synth, and I’m REALLY glad there’s a game that focuses on her and others from her company, including songs sang by the voice providers themselves. However, the lane definition is too… structured? Maybe this is a skill issue, but in every other mobile rhythm game I play, pressing the edge of a note isn’t an issue, but in this one, since the lanes are so rigidly defined, your finger can fall near the edge of a note and it’ll be “wrong” even though you’re technically touching the note. It leads to a feeling of frustration since it’s a bit hard to judge where the exact center of the note is during fast play for me, and it isn’t something I’ve encountered in day, Project Sekai or D4DJ. It leads to difficulty feeling like it’s coming from the wrong place. Maybe I’ll adapt, maybe I won’t, but it does add additional frustrations.
As a music game, this one is quite good in itself. The design of the sheet music and such is fine. However, the only drawback is that it has extremely high requirements for the placement of your fingers. You often miss the notes because your fingers are slightly off-target. To put it bluntly, the feel of it is not good.
This game is perfect for kamitsubaki fans, there’s a good selection of songs from VIP and VWP! There’s songs I really like that I can play. The game is very easy to play and it’s very entertaining. I kind of expected more things in the game before i started it, to be honest. I expected this game to have features other rhythm games had, like leveling up characters. I like how i can go to different sections of the map to go to different places. It’s interesting how i can see the top 10 scores on a song? (Sorry I don’t really know how to write reviews) In my opinion, it’s worth my money. This game requires no WiFi! I was very excited when this game came out. The VIPs are silly and funny C:
as a ton of other people said, the ui can make it hard to play on mobile (and pc too probably) but i enjoy the sound effects and the song list is good! like the store as well, pretty good game
just a sloppy poorly executed and rushed “game” with terrible registration and 30 dollar packs for again, a game that was rushed. i can easily FC MAS LV 34s on proseka so it isnt a skill issue along with the chart design being terrible and if anything unoriginal. anyone with basic knowledge and an ounce of creativity could make charts better than this and thats saying something because this games charting is just god awful. id love to play a game in the future with cevios but for now, this game was a waste of money.
It’s a great game for anyone who’s a fan of kamitsubaki. it seems like a lot was changed since the time of the other reviews; now the game is much more polished and less buggy.
Compared to the PC, this version of the game is frustrating to play because of the hit detection. It feels like the game doesn’t register your inputs unless you hit a very specific place on the screen, and even then it may not even register it. I haven’t had this issue with any other rhythm game on my iPad
Amazing rhythm game but I do think the season pass is overpriced
