Moving away from the high fantasy of Kingdom Rush to a gritty, rusted-out post-apocalypse was a great aesthetic choice. The gameplay feels faster and a bit more frantic than their previous titles, largely due to the 'Tactics' system. Having to actively deploy airstrikes, landmines, and hero units keeps your hands busy and makes the combat feel much more engaging than just watching towers shoot.
The progression system, which involves unlocking and upgrading cards for your loadout, provides excellent replayability. Because this is on Apple Arcade, the balance is perfect—there are no frustrating paywalls or grinding for premium chests. You earn everything through skill and strategy.
