Visual improvements
Humbug 2 is exactly what a sequel should be: more creative, more polished, and significantly more challenging. The genius of the game lies in its character-driven puzzles. You don't just move 'pieces'; you move bugs with personalities and specific physical limitations. This makes every solution feel like a small story of teamwork.
The difficulty ramps up beautifully. The early levels feel like a fun romp through a garden, but by the midpoint, you'll be staring at your screen for ten minutes, visualizing the path like a grandmaster playing chess. It’s a dense, rewarding puzzle game that respects the player's intelligence. Plus, the bugs are just so darn cute, even when they’re accidentally falling into the abyss because you miscalculated a jump.
Over 150 brand new levels
New bug characters with unique abilities
Charming hand-drawn graphics
Interactive environments with traps and switches
Global leaderboards for 'Least Moves' solutions
Use your stronger bugs to position the smaller ones. For instance, a rolling Spider can push a Snail into a better position, allowing the Snail to act as a bridge for the Bee later in the sequence.
Always count your moves before committing. If a level gives you five moves, and your Grasshopper needs three to reach the goal, you only have two moves left for the other bugs. Plan accordingly!
While the first game is great, Humbug 2 includes a tutorial that explains all the mechanics from scratch.
First time writing a review but I love the simplicity of this game matched with difficult puzzles and amazing visuals and sounds. I can see that the creators took care into each level and creature you control. I’m looking forward to see how you all expand on this game!
Enjoying the puzzles. Thank you for making an app that has a one time payment rather than predatory pricing and obnoxious ads. Love this!
A game that challenges your problem-solving skills and has nice graphics. I really like that each bug can move in a different way. Also, no ads during the game! Lastly, these are two devs working on a passion project.
