House of Power: The Game is an interesting hybrid of life simulation and tactical RPG, clearly inspired by reality competition shows. You live in a house with a group of diverse characters, forming alliances and competing in challenges to avoid 'eviction.' As an expert in niche simulations, I found the social engineering aspects of the game to be surprisingly deep.

The challenges are a mix of puzzles and reflex-based mini-games. However, the real game happens in the conversations between tasks. Managing your 'Loyalty' and 'Threat' levels is a constant balancing act. If you're too good at the games, people will target you; if you're too quiet, you'll be seen as an easy vote. The visual style is a bit dated, and the dialogue can be repetitive, but the core 'Survivor' style loop is very well executed and kept me coming back to see if I could make it to the finale.

Needs some big changes

I really love the concept of this game. 1. I think at the beginning of the game, you should be able to change your character. I like the idea of personalizing instead of being boxed into a male role. 2. I think the gameplay from running to election should be longer. There should be far more option to make money along the way. The limited options seem to jeopardize the campaign, and you still cut it way too close at the end and aren’t able to win. 3. I have tried about 8 times up until now to beat this election and I can’t see a clear path without spending real money (at least $20) to buy more in the game and do what is needed. Hopefully this is a relatively new beta-ish version with far more versatility to come. I will redownload at that time.

You can’t even get through 10 minutes of gameplay without a paywall, in addition to multiple pop up ads that take time to watch. You can skip the wait (45 minutes!) by paying for a subscription (instead of the usual remove ads option) or watch 5 ads that range from 30 seconds to a minute. Most games make you watch two to even three ads to continue. Because I assume that this happens frequently in the game, it ruins the flow of the game and makes you wait. No, I’m not going to pay five dollars a week to play this game. They should’ve just charged the money upfront. You can get an Apple Arcade subscription for seven dollars a month, why would you pay five dollars a week for the single game? Or $40 for a whole year. A much better deal yes but still. Why would I spend $40 on an app? It looks like a promising game so that’s why I’m giving it two stars, although the AI generated images on the app page seem kind of lazy. My experience is based on the limited gameplay that I had. It looks like a good game. The art style is nice, with the exception of the text boxes. And I know that the creators are not a giant video game company. They need to make money through it, but it seems that it would be more beneficial to charge upfront to download the app.

A Cash Grab Disguised as a Game

I had high hopes for this game because, on the surface, it has potential. The concept is solid, the graphics are decent, and there are glimpses of a fun experience buried beneath all the greed. But unfortunately, the developers seem more interested in draining players’ wallets than actually delivering a game worth playing. Progression is painfully slow unless you’re willing to spend money, and even then, it feels like a never-ending cycle of paywalls. Every mechanic is designed to push you toward microtransactions, from energy limits to overpowered premium items that make free players feel completely irrelevant. Instead of rewarding skill or dedication, the game rewards those who spend the most money. It’s frustrating because this could be a genuinely great game if the developers focused on creating a balanced, enjoyable experience instead of treating players like ATMs. If they ever decide to tone down the aggressive monetization and actually care about gameplay, I’d be happy to give it another shot. Until then, I wouldn’t recommend wasting your time—or your money.

Not a good game

I put it at five stars so the developers can see it quicker. I'm going to be so honest this game is really not good and its super hard. No matter what choices I make by the time I'm elected I run out of money and can't play anymore and I'm really not about to put my own money into it. The problem is the election campaign part because everything is so expensive and you get little amount in money, where realistically there should be more money making form donations and fundraising. And if I get past the campaign and win the election, I still lose money into the presidency. This game is really bad and I don't recommend!

I don’t even know understand how this game has a 3.5/5 rating, it’s a complete trash cash grab. This is the complete experience you’ll have playing this. You’ll be interested download the game, start playing a story line and making decisions on what type of office you want to run your campaign from, what type of employees you want to higher for 3-4minutes, and ad pops up (not even fully into the game mind you), then you start making decisions on how you want to market yourself and your campaign, where to make your first speech, what issues you want to focus on, all 5-7 minutes in, book another ad (not even fully into the game yet mind you), then you start deciding how you want to defend yourself against your running rival for TWENTY SECONDS ONLY, BOOM paywall / adwall. “Want to pay weekly, or yearly subscription, or you can watch these FIVE ADS to get the next part of the story free” this is CHEAP AND BORING not worth even downloading.

DO NOT DOWNLOAD-Money Grab

This has to be the biggest joke of a game I’ve ever seen. I was very excited to try this out, but after 30 seconds into the game, a cheap ad popped up.. I couldn’t help but laugh. I spent another 3 minutes in the game, and it tells you to either pay WEEKLY to remove ads, or an absurd amount of money for the YEARLY ad removal. If you don’t choose these options, it punishes you by making you watch 6 ads to continue the game. While playing the game, every option costs money.. I got less than 10 minutes into the game and im being forced to spend real money to continue playing. There are no other options other than spend money if I want to play the game more than 10 minutes. This is nothing but a money grab. It’s pathetic. They don’t want you to play the game, they just want your money. Absolutely ridiculous. If I could give negative stars, I would.

Deserves zero stars

There is no way this app has 4 stars legitimately. The app starts out alright. There isn’t any sound, music or nothing in terms of audio. It starts off ok, you’re a generic white dude but in the first 5 minutes you are forced to watch 2 ads just to continue. Then immediately you are stopped in your track and are required to pay for premium or watch 5 ads in a row and premium is $5 a week!!! It really should be $5 forever. The dialogue was not written by someone that understands English well. It has been proofread so errors seem to have been fixed by the construction of the sentences are horrible. The animation are essentially just people fading in and out of view. The interface is pretty bland. This is just a money grab. Downloaded and deleted within 10 minutes.

Game forces you to pay with money or forces you to watch endless Ads
Sat Sep 27 2025 932XB

When you reach the point of having to wait to continue the story or watch 5 Ads, even after you watch 5 ads, you will STILL WATCH MORE ADS! The game also forces your decision to continue. Choose the wrong one, and you won’t have enough campaign funds to continue. That or your influence is too low that you can’t continue, that is, until you have to pay real money to do so. This game was NEVER FREE to begin with. Eventually you will have to pay. Also, this game is EXTREMELY BIAS. I am a moderate. But this game ONLY REWARDS you if you have a certain political belief system. Specifically you have to be a left-wing liberal. Which I will say, it is no wonder why you liberals lose! You are. a bunch of hypocrites that silence all of us!
