Hot Springs Story 2 is another masterpiece from Kairosoft, the kings of the 'pixel-art tycoon' genre. If you enjoyed the first game, this sequel adds a significant amount of depth without losing the cozy, addictive charm. You aren't just building baths; you're managing a complex resort ecosystem where the placement of a 'Beautician' next to a 'Cauldron Bath' can drastically change your popularity with specific demographics like supermodels or ninjas.
The addition of outdoor elements like footbaths and the ability to invest in the surrounding area (like building a ski slope or an amusement park) makes the world feel much larger. The game manages to be relaxing yet deeply strategic—you’ll find yourself obsessing over the perfect layout to trigger 'combos' for maximum profit. It’s one of the most content-rich Kairosoft titles to date, offering dozens of hours of play as you strive for that elusive 5-star rating. It’s the ultimate digital retreat.
New baths exclusive to the sequel (Cauldron, Oil Drum)
Seasonal changes that affect resort aesthetics and guests
Deep investment system to grow the surrounding town
Classic Kairosoft pixel art and polished sim mechanics
Use the 'Invest' feature to develop the local forest and city. This attracts new types of guests who will spend more money at your facilities.
Place facilities near baths to create 'Combos.' For example, putting a Milk Vending Machine near a bath increases its appeal to young guests.
You must satisfy special guests and reach specific milestones in popularity, facility variety, and annual revenue as featured in the travel guides.
It’s a good price for the gameplay offered. I’ve put a few hours into it in the past two days. I will say I’ve noticed layout really makes a difference when it comes to customer satisfaction, on my first save I kind of had a messy layout, I was making a lot of money but the special guests were unhappy after their stay, I found this was due to my layout. So in my second save I am being more careful about how I lay everything out, kind of just making sure there is equal entertainment and food to the amount of rooms. On my first save I put a lot of rooms by each other and then clumped restaurants and activities together but on my second save I am kind of creating divisions if that makes sense. Anyhow point being, special guests are maxing out in satisfaction from their stay waaaaay before I even hit my first million in currency on my second save because of how I am doing my layout now. With this being said, my first save does just fine, even with special guests being unhappy with their stay (it really doesn’t effect gameplay) but if you want to be immersive and run it like it’s a real business you’d care about the small details that don’t necessarily effect the overall picture.
Sooooo Goooood!!! This is the sequel you’ve been wanting! Well aside from Dungeon Village (kairosoft please stop making free to play dungeon type games and just give us another pay once and play dungeon village updated like you did with hot springs!) I love love love this game. All the classic features with very compatible and excellent new ones. This is classic Kairosoft updated the Right Way. I can’t stop playing. Gameplay ten....million stars Cute Characters ....uh Yes! Stuff to do...more and better than ever Music... Delightful So worth buying if you’re a Kairosoft fan. I will lose so many hours of my life playing this Gem! Just buy it now!
I was really excited to play this because I loved the first game but I was left a bit disappointed. The items have become very insignificant as far as their effect. It would barely raise two or three points and the negative effect for using an items has gone up significantly to a point where you are kind of forced to reboot the game so it’s not as damaging and it’s no longer exciting to acquire new items because of the dread of the expected negative effects. Second, the customers are many but they no longer feel as special. They each come and go endlessly. You satisfy one, next day you gotta satisfy another the same way same deal pretty much. Third, the point system with the group tours could’ve been better too. It took a good chunk of time just waiting for points to accumulate. A lot of the game felt like time fillers to be honest. Where the previous game, you forgot about the time as you kept playing but this one you can’t help but be aware of the time and how wasteful it kinda is. The positive is that there are many more stores and customers but it didn’t feel as special and exciting after play.
I don’t know what’s up I genuinely like the game and I enjoyed it playing it for hours it’s a real step up def one of my favorites. Although all of a sudden on day the front of the door where the customers come through was inaccessible I tried deleting alot of stuff and it still didn’t change anything so therefore I was getting no customers what so ever and there was nothing I can do about it I wanna continue to play the game but I have no idea what to do. Idk if it’s a big but if someone knows something I’d appericate it overall tho amazing game!
I normally adore Kairosoft games. Let me put it this way, these are the Only games I pay for…. Which is why I couldn’t give this just 1 star. This one seemed like it was going to be good, as usual, but right at the point where I Rank up for the first time, the game crashed. And continues to do so. I deleted and reinstalled, it got worse. Now you can’t even save! Even going into the menu makes it crash. Unplayable. I really hope someone at the company reads this. This needs fixed so I can fix this review. Thank you!
I started playing this game when I was procrastinating. I was quickly addicted and spend days on this games and not doing my work. So one day, I said I’m going to uninstall this game and come back to it when I finish my task. Because of the save button, I thought I’m saving the progress onto iCloud or something. But after I reinstall the game, all my previous progress was lost.
I love this game and I play it everyday and I have a lot of fun doing but the update thing is annoying there is a mouse that pops up on my screen and it’s obnoxious I not even playing on a computer and when I get 40 medals for ten bearington hammers I only get one! And the hot springs for the men and women usually you can change the gender for the hot springs when you’re building it but you can’t now! Please fix it this game is awesome!
I played the original, and many Kairosoft games. This game is more than recycled ideas; there is more depth, customization, and management in this game. New animation. New music. New items. So if you weren’t sure about buying this game, and you like management games and the original Hot Spring Story, you won’t be disappointed. Buy it. Good job Kairosoft!
