Hangman Pro is the definitive digital version of the schoolyard classic. What makes this 'Pro' version worth the entry fee is the sheer depth of the word libraries. You aren't just guessing generic words; the themed categories—from '80s Music' to 'Scientific Terms'—add a layer of trivia that keeps the game from getting stale.
The multiplayer mode is where the game truly shines. Playing against a friend, where you set the word for them to guess, turns it into a psychological battle of wits. The chalkboard aesthetic is nostalgic and easy on the eyes, and the lack of intrusive ads makes the flow of the game much more enjoyable than the free clones found elsewhere. It's simple, effective, and endlessly replayable.

Nostalgic chalkboard visual style
Always start by guessing vowels (A, E, I, O, U). They appear in almost every word and will give you the skeleton of the phrase you're trying to solve.
Select a category from the main menu to narrow down the word pool. Use the on-screen keyboard to pick letters; each wrong guess adds a part to the hangman!
Yes, you can use a limited number of hints per game to reveal a letter or get a clue about the word.
This is a good game that can be played off line too. I like that I can play against the game versus other persons. My main frustrations are the vast number of three and four letter words with so few guesses allowed. In addition, there should be some special “extra credit” of some sort when the word is guessed with zero wrong guesses. I love not having advertisements.
Great game. Lots of fun, of course thr idea behind hangman is one guesses the word in 8 or 9 tries depending on how the gallows is make and how the man is made. I’ve played hang man where the gallows is 3 wrong answers and the man is 5 wrong answers. This game seems to be the best of those worlds. My strngth is I read a lot and have a fair idea how words are formed fron prefix & suffix which helps in guessing the right letters even when there is only one wrong guess left. I chose thr pro version because when I got to 100 games with a 60% win ratio, the game crashed and I had to begin again. I am hoping that that won’t happen with the paid version.
I generally love playing this game, online or off, but I hate when it adds a missed word while offline. I played the “hard” version and was up to 123 words without an error. I turned the app down and when I came back to the game several hours later, the score was 123 and 1; the game added a missed word after I had left the game. Very frustrating... I had hoped that would stop when I upped from free to pay version.
Hangman is very well thought out and I don't like to play... most of the time. The only thing that I would like to see changed is REDUCING the number of three or four letter words that have 10 to 15 possibilities... for example: bat, cat, eat, fat, hat, mat, oat, pat, rat, sat, tat, vat. I like to play to win and words like these hurt my win/loss ratio.
I enjoy the challenge and find it easy to use. I worry that the puzzles may repeat too frequently but so far have seen only a few repeats.
By using the “Hard” (words) challenge I am reminded of, and sometimes learn, words that build up my vocabulary. Double your fun!
Suggest that if you solve in less than the allotted tries that the remaining tries should rollover. Also, show the winning word as well as the losing one.
Maybe I am too stupid to figure it out but would like 2 player where computer picks the words…maybe there is a way for that…should also have a 2 minute time clock.
