Gravitas is a minimalist puzzle game that forces you to rethink your relationship with gravity. It takes the core mechanic of games like 'Vvvvvv' and applies it to a much more atmospheric, ambient setting. You don't have a jump button; instead, you toggle gravity, moving between the floor and the ceiling to avoid deadly lasers and traps. The level design is focused and clever, often presenting a room that looks impossible at first glance but reveals a clear, elegant solution once you stop thinking in 2D.
The visual design is stark and focused, utilizing a high-contrast palette that ensures you always know where the danger is. It is a 'pure' puzzle experience—there is no fluff, no story, just you and the mechanics. The difficulty curve is steep but fair, with each new mechanic (like gravity-wells or moving platforms) being introduced in a way that builds naturally on what you've learned. It’s a cerebral, slightly punishing experience that provides an immense sense of satisfaction when you finally clear a 'perfect' run.
Unique gravity-flipping mechanics
Over 60 handcrafted puzzle levels
Clean, high-contrast visual style
Haunting ambient soundtrack
In the laser corridors, flip gravity while you are mid-air to change your vertical direction instantly. This 'Air-Turn' is the only way to weave through the alternating beam patterns found in the later levels of Stage 3.
Falling from a great height and flipping gravity right before you hit the ground will launch you into the air with significant force. Use this momentum to clear wide gaps that a normal gravity flip couldn't bridge.
No, you can take as long as you need to solve each puzzle, making it more about logic than speed.
A similar concept to Tetris, this game is fun and challenging. The graphics are unique and give a lot of variety to the game.
It’s pretty much the same idea as Tetris or doctor mario, you have blocks and you want to get rid of them. I have so far had very few problems. The 1 on 1 with a friend is a really fun feature too! This is a great game to play while watching a show, waiting in line, or riding the bus and need something to help kill the time. No ads and a polished game with cool art work, very refreshing to see a game on the App Store with proper programming and polished features and nice graphics. Very much worth the money!
What a unique puzzle style game! Each level with its own theme and interesting graphics, you can play and advance through the different levels. I love quick play to get in some practice at short bursts and marathon mode when I have some extra time and want to get better at getting combos. Love this take on a different kind of puzzle game!
I played this with my boyfriend over a talk, both of us are huge fans of Meteos (a puzzle game that vanished too soon) and both play it. I saw article online about this and decided to look into it a bit more- imagine how shocked I was to see it was on App Store! (In a world where most apps with any actual love or effort in them end up on Android…) I gave this a quick shot and I will say this is rather fun! Very much feels like the spirit of Meteos (even its name after one of the planets I enjoy playing very much). It runs smoothly and has impact. I will say it could use a few adjustments- as it stands: Speeder - Meteos (and some other puzzle games) have the Speeder to drop more blocks onto your screen quickly, as well as land a stack that’s in the air to make another match after. I feel like having a speeder in this would add a whole new dimension to the game. Burning Blocks - The trash in this game takes a little too long to cool! In Meteos, all planets “trash” blocks turn back to normal at different rates per planet- but never being longer than at least 5 seconds. The blocks here take much too long to cool and without a speeder, it takes a long while to receive new blocks to make matches which in turn wastes time on the clock. Making blocks cool faster would be a benefit, or at least make it adjustable. More Options - The flashing of the screen when the round is over is rather distracting, and I can definitely see it being an actual hazard for some. Adding a “reduce flashing and effects” option or just any accessibility options would be a very good addition. Physics - The block physics are a little confusing. You can’t align a match when a stack lands in this game- and if you do it only sends up the match itself and not the stack. In Meteos, a big feature is adding to a match made to give it further ignition- making enough matches before you end up with too many burnt elements to get as many blocks off screen you can. It’s strange how it’s so restrictive in this game- combined with how long it takes for burnt trash to cool off to be used again- it would really help if you could make horizontal matches to add to part of the same stack like in Meteos. Music And Visuals - Already rather nice looking game- I hope you introduce more “skins” or backgrounds to use. And finally- this is for me personally: My favorite part of Meteos (besides the fun gameplay) are the little aliens! Seeing them vibe in the corner and get happy when you make a match, or worry when you’re close to losing! Maybe getting to see the different people of the planets you’re helping would make it a little more engaging. I know another Meteos-inspired game that have aliens- even having descriptions like the original games. With the planets already having different parameters for gravity I think it would give them further individuality if you could see the citizen or species your helping- you can get crazy creative with the designs too since well, they’re aliens! Finally: this game has a lot of clear potential and passion behind it. And respect for the game it’s inspired from. I’m looking forward to seeing more updates and for the game to grow from being inspired to an excellent puzzle experience for people who know Meteos and even people who don’t! 💕💕💕💕💫💫💫🌙🌙🪐
