Thank you for playing Good Pizza, Great Pizza+!
Updated balance for the Apple Arcade version.
Minor issues have been fixed.
Good Pizza, Great Pizza+ is arguably the most charming food service sim on the App Store. Unlike many 'dash' games that rely on frantic clicking, this game rewards patience and attention to detail. The hand-drawn art style gives the shop a cozy, lived-in feel, and the writing for the customers is surprisingly witty.
What really sets it apart is the progression system. Competing against your jerk of a rival, Alicante, provides a legitimate narrative hook that makes you want to improve your shop. The Apple Arcade version is particularly great because it removes the friction of microtransactions, allowing you to focus purely on the joy of crafting the perfect pepperoni pie. It’s a delightful balance of 'zen' preparation and 'hustle' management.
Over 80 unique customers
Pizza News Network (PNN) broadcasts
Deep equipment and shop upgrades
Seasonal events and Pizza Pass
Authentic pizza-making mechanics
In the early game, prioritize buying 'Auto-Toppers' to save time. Be careful not to over-top pizzas, as ingredients cost money and can quickly eat into your daily profits.
If a customer gives a confusing order like 'I'm a meat lover but no pork,' use the 'What?' button to clarify. It costs a bit of happiness but ensures you don't waste ingredients on a wrong order.
The gameplay loop involves rolling dough, applying sauce and cheese, and placing toppings precisely. You then bake the pizza, cut it to the customer's specifications, and box it up for a review and tip.
If you can't pay your rent at the end of the day, you'll have to restart the day or use your savings to keep the doors open.
This game is a great restaurant simulator, and it is fun. Compared to the non-Arcade version though, it is much shorter and with less options in the store, which I hope will be worked on in updates. However, the bigger issue I think is how slow it is to gain gems versus the prices of things in the store. I keep saving all the gems for update tools, and despite reaching day 87 and completing all the stories, I’ve only managed to buy a tiny fraction, and I’m not even close to any of the many decorations that have high gem costs. By this point, I’ve been able to buy everything else I could with the cash currency. Without more chapters and everything else in the store feeling so out of reach, it is difficult to find motivation to continue playing. Also, I cannot find the undo tool despite it being the first thing I got.
Please fix the bugs. The most ridiculous one is the fact that the tongs NEVER SHOWED UP. I bought them as soon as they were available, I’ve updated the game every time an update is available, I’ve tried on different devices, and they just aren’t there. What’s more, when I tried to contact customer service about it, I was unable to provide a tapblaze account number to associate with the game because there isn’t a way to login to your tapblaze account in this version, so I just never got a response. This is despite the fact that I explained this exact issue in my email to customer service. I also just want to reiterate what others have said about the subpar experience in this version, specifically how hard it is to earn gems. I’m on game day 109 and I have almost no upgrades because I can’t afford them. Really, there’s no reason to even have two forms of in-game currency in an Apple Arcade game. You only have the gems in the original version to incentivize us to either make in-game purchases or watch ads since that increases your real-life revenue, but that’s irrelevant here, so just switch everything to the in-game cash. If that’s too burdensome in terms of coding, then at least reduce the prices for gem-based purchases.
I’ve been enjoying the game quite a bit! I never played the game prior to it being on apple arcade and I really like it; however, there are different things that will need fixed and tuned. The tong feature doesn’t exist despite me purchasing it. I also think diamonds need to be restructured given that you can’t watch ads to get diamonds like you can with the non apple arcade version. (found out through reading the subreddit and wiki that that’s a thing). Either need to make the buddies less diamonds or make ways to get diamonds easier. Otherwise, I think it’s a really sweet game that challenges a lady who already works in the service industry. Oddly kind of accurate to the way some people order.
I was genuinely excited to try the arcade version — and I still think it has real potential. But right now, earning diamonds feels nearly impossible unless you have an unrealistic amount of time to dedicate to grinding. Meanwhile, the costs of actually upgrading and progressing in the game don’t reflect how hard those diamonds are to come by. It gets discouraging fast. I want to enjoy this version — I prefer this version — but when progress feels out of reach, the fun drains pretty quickly. Either lower the cost of items or find a better way to reward players with diamonds. It’s not a complicated fix, and based on the other reviews piling up, the developers need to hear this sooner rather than later. We’re not asking for much. Just make it feel worth it. ⭐⭐⭐ — love the format, just needs better balance.
I am deeply disappointed with the Arcade version of Good Pizza. As a paid subscription service, Arcade is supposed to offer a premium experience. Instead, this version feels like a lazy port that punishes the player. Here are the glaring issues that make this game a miserable experience. 1. Gem Starvation Removing in-app purchases without balancing the economy is a joke. Rewarding a measly 1 gem per achievement means I would have to grind for a month or two just to afford basic upgrades. Is this how you treat Arcade subscribers? It feels like an insult to our time and money. 2. Glitch Where is the "Undo" tongs upgrade? I bought it, yet it has never once appeared on my prep table. 3.Incomplete Recipe Book Too many special orders are missing from the in-game manual. I shouldn't have to keep a real notebook or constantly annoy customers by asking "What?" just to guess an unlisted recipe. 4.The Math Kid's Homework is a Nightmare The kid’s math homework orders are ridiculously cryptic. If I fail once, the game should provide the correct answer. Forcing players to restart and replay the exact same day 10 times in a row just to find the solution—and still fail—is terrible game design and entirely anti-fun. This version desperately needs a rebalance and major bug fixes. Until Arcade players are treated with respect, save your time and skip this.
I really enjoy this game and the challenge of trying to correctly guess each customer’s pizza order. It keeps the gameplay interesting and makes you pay attention instead of just mindlessly playing. My biggest issue is the upgrade system. It’s very difficult to earn enough cash and diamonds to buy helpful upgrades, especially the toppings buddy that automatically adds toppings. Having to constantly tap each topping one at a time gets really repetitive and annoying after a while. I think the game would be much more enjoyable if there were better ways to earn currency or if some upgrades were easier to unlock.
The game is good, but it’s basically no different from the free version. It’s still really hard to earn currency and diamonds, and the Arcade version doesn’t give any real extra benefits. In the free version, you could at least get diamonds from ads, which was way faster than getting only 2 diamonds a day from quests. There are no in-game purchases either. Daily tasks are super easy but the rewards are tiny, so it just turns into endless grinding. The rewards are too low while diamond prices for upgrades are really high, so it’s almost impossible to buy upgrades unless you save up until the very end of the game. With a paid version of the game, you really expect something cool or useful, but in the end there’s absolutely nothing new, which is really disappointing
I love this game! I loved it before Apple Arcade. However on the Apple Arcade platform, I think it needs some updates. I would like a quicker way to earn gems or for gem items to be priced much lower. I saved up enough to buy a couple upgrades, but it’s taking a long time and then I can’t purchase the decor that costs gems. Since you can’t buy gems in this version, I think it would be helpful to update this feature, as it’s getting a little frustrating. There also seems to be a bug where the tongs aren’t working to remove items. So excited to continue playing and hopefully see some updates!!
