performance improvements
Go To Ten is a brilliant educational tool masquerading as a simple card game. Based on the RightStart Math program, it focuses on the most fundamental skill in early arithmetic: 'making tens.' It’s essentially a mathematical version of 'Go Fish,' and it’s remarkably effective at moving kids away from counting on their fingers to recognizing number pairs instinctively.
The app is minimalist—some might even say 'boring' visually—but its lack of distracting animations and loud noises is actually a benefit for learning. It forces the child to focus on the numbers. I’ve seen kids who usually hate flashcards get genuinely excited about finding pairs in 'the dump.' It’s a specialized tool, but for parents and teachers using the RightStart curriculum, it’s an indispensable way to squeeze in math practice during a commute or a quiet moment.
Based on the acclaimed RightStart™ Math curriculum
Three difficulty levels for different skill stages
Clean, distraction-free educational interface
Interactive feedback (cards shake if the math is wrong)
Privacy-focused: no data collection
Look at the bottom row for two cards that sum to 10 (e.g., 7 and 3). Tap both to move them to the winning pile. If no pairs are visible, tap the deck at the top to 'Go to the Dump' and find more cards.
The game scales from beginner to advanced, requiring quicker identification of pairs and larger pools of cards. Successful matches build the 'winning pile,' and the game ends when all 29 pairs are found.
It is ideal for children aged 4 to 8 who are learning basic addition and number bonds.
We really love this! My boys shut down using flash cards and they love this! A few suggestions: I would love to see the option to add yourself being timed so you can beat your own personal best score! Like.. how many times can you make a 10 in a minute? I would also love to see advanced levels add in addition & subtraction to MAKE A 10! If you have 15...what do you minus to make a 10? Thanks for this game!
I am so glad you are finally putting these games into apps. They are so important to the program and it is hard to find time to get them all in during the school day. I hope you get a chance to make them all!
Love right start math and I really enjoy this game
Great for a different option to the card game. The app is slightly boring. My son got bored after a few minutes. No sound, no competition to the game. I hope the make some improvements!
