Relaxing yet addicting game!

To make a long story short, I was introduced to this game after seeing my best friend and her cousin completely addicted to it. I was a little skeptical, but I tried it out on their phone after a brief demo of how it was played. Game play is simple- simply tap the screen and the hook will descend, leaving you nothing to do but swipe your finger across the screen to catch the fish. I have been playing this for a while now, and still find myself playing it a couple times a day. Yes, like other reviews you do see a lot of ads, mostly if you want to double your money to be able to dive deeper and earn more money while offline. While they don’t bother me too much, it’s a small price to pay rather than shelling out real money to upgrade. However, I do have a few suggestions I’d like to make to make the game a bit interesting. I’d like to go deeper, perhaps even encounter a Kraken or other big sea creatures. Maybe being able to unlock other fishing poles could help attract fish that are worth more or extremely rare. Also, maybe random things like treasure chests or a mermaid spotting would entice other player

Not enough gameplay, way too many ads.

While this game is fun, the amount of ads you encounter while playing is egregious. After each fish, you get an option to skip to the next one, or to watch an ad to double or triple your earnings. The problem with this system is that you have to watch an ad either way, as even pressing the skip button will give you an ad. In addition, one of the main ways to collect revenue in this game is with offline earnings, and similarly to the fish revenue, you have the option to skip and begin playing or watch an ad to double or triple your earnings. However this system differs from the latter, because even if you wish to increase your offline earnings, this is when the game will conveniently not be able to find you an ad to watch. This is not a fluke, as I’ve tried many times to multiply my offline earnings only for the game to tell me that “ads are currently unavailable” every time (yet it has no problem giving me an ad when i wish to skip one after my first fish of the session). To conclude, the material of the game itself is just lacking and I finished the fish + character collections within three or four days and now find no novelty in the game, as there is no more progression to be found. It’s a shame, because I see so much potential in the game, and I wish the developers would put more effort into making it a more engaging and less annoying experience.

Predatory

This game is very weird in that it is horribly monetized. First, let’s start with the gameplay loop. You tap the screen to throw your hook into the water and you drag your finger left and right to collect fish as you reel back up. Once back at the surface the game counts your fish and gives you a gold reward based on what kind of fish and how many you caught, that is the entire game by the way. When you want to collect your money the game forces you to watch an ad. The gameplay loop is way to fast to support this kind of monetization. You’ll be watching ads way more often than playing the game itself which is a good way to disincentivize people playing the game at all. If you do want to support the dev’s for the frankly lackluster game you’ll be paying $7.99 for a no ads experience. However it’s just not worth it because in the game itself is a way to gain so much money that you don’t even need to play it to get all the things in the game. The reason for the one star is because there is a horrendous subscription in the game that charges $6.49 PER WEEK! Nothing in the game that I’ve seen even remotely justifies such a predatory subscription from a bottom of the barrel fishing game. Which calls into question why such a thing is even in the game. I imagine it has something to do with young children and unsupervised credit cards.

AMAZING.... but....

This app is amazing. I love the whole concept of getting better and better fish as you get deeper. But there are a couple of problems. For some reason, it won’t let me watch an ad to get more money. Like I’ll get 40,000 in a catch and it’ll give me the option to triple it if I watch the ad, so I click it and...! Nothing happens. I’ve restarted my phone, exited out of the app, and as far as I know you don’t need to buy anything to be able to click on that. At the beginning it was working, but now it isn’t. It’s not so bad that it’ll make me delete the app, just pretty annoying. Now, the ads that you don’t earn anything from are a WHOLE other story. 90% of the time I’ll have to watch an ad after catching something and it’s really annoying. This game is super funny and I totally recommend it, but please, can you fix these two problems? It makes the whole experience less... fun. Anyways, I recommend it, but keep in mind that the ads that give you prizes don’t work and the regular ads pop up a bunch.

I entirely understand that free apps need ads in order to make money, but the amount of ads popping up is taking away from the game. After I’m done fishing I’m always asked if I want to double my catch by watching an ad. 90% of the time it will still play an ad when I click no but there will not be reward which becomes frustrating. The game is very fun and addicting, but stopping every time I make a catch to watch an ad makes me want to stop playing. I would recommend the creators to find more unique ways to include optional ad watching for boosts, and reduce the pop ups the best you can while still making money. Given a choice people will make the one you want more often, I’m more likely to watch an ad for a boost if I haven’t been previously made to watch multiple without reward. With less interruptions in between gameplay, more people are likely to enjoy this app and recommend it to others. The current amount of ads won’t be needed to make a living off the game. Overall the game has a beautiful design and is very addicting to play. Hopefully there can be adjustments in the future that continue to better it. Thank you

could be better…

I recently downloaded this game because it looked super fun, i was right and wrong! its a fun game but theres so many ads. i have to turn my wifi off while i play! and aside that i beat the game within 3 days! after that it started glitching and didn't let me buy any more boosts,every time i tried to fish it wouldn't let me go a deeper depth because i already maxed out! the numbers covered my whole screen! please fix the game! add updates or your players will be bored of it so fast. other then that the game is okay, doesn't bother me so much with in app purchases which is nice if you let a kid borrow your phone. A lot of the reviews complain about the ads so maybe fix that? try to listen to your customers at the LEAST, the audacity I swear.. anyways the only reason i gave it 2 instead of 3 stars was because this reminded me of many other games, and so im guessing you were inspired by club penguin maybe? or maybe you just straight up copied them without credit. also, i get frustrated on how i have to watch a ad just to get a boost? i want to buy the boost with coins not spend a hour of my life watching ads thanks! hope you take this to consideration! sending all hate from my iphone! :)

Love this game but...

This game is super fun and addicting! I love catching and finding new fish and upgrading so that my fishing pole can go deeper, but one problem about this app is the advertisements. They just pop up and keep on popping up. When your fishing net can only take 3 fish, in the beginning of the game, it felt like an ad would pop up every single time I caught 3 fish. And it felt like I was getting ads every second! Every time you catch all of your fish and get your money, an ad pops up out of nowhere and it really annoys me. I want to play your very great game! But with all those advertisements, I can’t. It feels like 70% of the time I’m watching an ad on this game. It’s fine when they appear once in a while, but I don’t want an ad to appear every. Single. Time. $3.99 Is actually a lot of money to just get ads off of the game. You can buy at least 2 apps with that money! Maybe .99 and that would be better. I also feel like the advertisements are very repetitive, what I mean by that is by putting on the same ad every single time. Very Great Game! Very Great Idea! Very Great Everything, event for ads.

this game is so addicting but the ads are overboard

listen, this game is one of the best and most addictive games i’ve ever played, but the ads! come on! really? i understand the producers need to make money off of ads but maybe a little less? every time it asks me to double or sometimes triple my money by watching an ad or not and just claim the money with NO. AD. but it always gives me ads even if i press no. there hasn’t been one round of playing where i haven’t gotten an ad (even if i say no). Lately it gives me the option to double or triple my money or not and i would always click double and triple even when i don’t want to because i know either way i would be getting an ad, but lately it gives my the option to double and triple and when i go to press it like always, it doesn’t let me. the button goes full as if i can’t press it anymore and i have to watch the ad. it makes me so annoyed! one time i collected $7,500 and it gave me the option to TRIPLE it!! that would give me $22,500! of course when i tried to press the button it went dull and it wouldn’t let me press. SO ANNOYING! overall this is a fun game but with all the problems listed i just want to delete it all together.
