This update fixes an issue where the Watch game would crash on WatchOS 8+ if AssistiveTouch was enabled.
Also fixes issue with not being able to restart on newer watches where force touch is disabled.
Fish In A Watch is an impressive technical feat that turns your Apple Watch into a tiny, living ecosystem. The concept of 'eat or be eaten' is a gaming classic, but adapting it to the digital crown of a watch is a stroke of genius. It feels tactile and responsive, making it one of the few games on the platform that actually feels 'made' for a wearable.
That said, the gameplay is extremely basic. On an iPhone, it feels underwhelming compared to other arcade titles, but as a 'secret' game to play on your wrist during a boring meeting, it's perfect. The visuals are simple but clear enough for the small screen. It’s a niche title, but for Apple Watch owners looking for a fun way to use their crown, it’s a delightful little distraction.
Optimized for Apple Watch Digital Crown
Playable on iPhone and Apple Watch
Simple 'eat and grow' mechanics
Clean, minimalist art style
Rotate the Digital Crown back and forth to move your fish up and down. Precision is key to catching smaller fish while dodging incoming sharks.
Monitor your size and only approach fish that are smaller than you. The game scales in difficulty as you grow.
It works best on Series 4 and up, but it is compatible with Series 3 as well.
I work at a job where I don’t have my phone but will have my Apple Watch. I use this game as a great way to pass the time. It’s easy and fun. It needs some minor bug fixes. It’s not optimized for the latest Apple watches, and as another review stated there is a bug with the frenzy jellyfish and the zoom jellyfish that needs to be addressed. I’d also like for the game to be a little bit more polished, because as your fish grows larger, yellow jellyfish don’t appear meaning your fish grows larger than the size of the screen. It’s nearly impossible to score more than 1500 points. Other than some polishing needs this game is a fun time killer.
Careful if you get a Frenzy jellyfish and a Zoom jellyfish in quick succession because the Zoom will interfere with the Frenzy and you’ll die from a larger fish while still in frenzy mode. That doesn’t happen often and otherwise it’s a decent little time killer of a game. It does get harder after about 500 points as the fish is taking up half the watch screen. Then by about 1500 points it’s basically luck staying alive since you can’t see much else but your fish. Definitely should zoom out more after 1000 points.
Around 2500 to 3000 points the game frequently glitches and all the fish disappear except mine. iPhone 14 Pro, 16.3.1
It’s so fun and addicting!! No problems what so ever, didn’t buy it at first because I didn’t know if it would be as good as it was but it’s really addicting and nice graphics, plus the fishes are so cute
This game is very fun and addicting to play. It is genuinely fun - even for a watch game! I really wish they would make a version of this that would be playable on iOS.
Fun game but on my watch the fish gets too big for the screen and I can never find another zoom jellyfish to keep playing. so I end up touching something out of view and dying. Also PLEASE add a pause function.
Haven’t played but love fish
Don’t love it. Was looking for an easy game for my child to play on the watch. It’s very antiquated and you use the dial to move the fish. Don’t recommend it.
