As a long-time fan of card games, Eric Snider's FreeCell Solitaire Pack stands out as one of the most refined interpretations of the classic FreeCell experience available on mobile. What immediately grabs you is the tactile feedback; the ability to 'shove' cards across the screen feels remarkably natural and far more engaging than the standard tap-to-move mechanics found in generic alternatives. The visual presentation is crisp, with subtle particle effects and high-quality art that makes the game feel like a premium product rather than a simple time-waster.
The inclusion of Eight Off and Towers as bonus games provides excellent value, offering variations that require slightly different strategic approaches while maintaining the same high level of polish. The 'wiggling' hint system is a stroke of genius—it offers a gentle nudge for beginners without being intrusive, and seasoned pros can toggle it off for a true challenge. The attention to detail, from the landscape orientation support to the way the game saves state instantly during a phone call, proves that this was built by someone who truly understands the mobile gaming experience.
Includes FreeCell, Eight Off, and Towers
Unique 'Card Shove' throwing mechanic
Visual hints with wiggling/glowing cards
Portrait and Landscape orientation support
Automatic game saving and restoration
To win consistently, focus on uncovering the Aces early to start building your foundations. Use your four free cells sparingly; they are your most valuable resource for maneuvering cards. Always look two or three moves ahead to ensure you don't block a necessary card.
The gameplay centers on a fluid drag-and-drop system. You can move stacks of cards between columns or into the foundation piles. A unique feature is the 'shove' mechanic, allowing you to flick cards across the board for a faster, more tactile gaming experience.
The game was developed by Eric Snider, known for creating the original Solitaire games included with Apple Macintosh computers.
I learned this game with a deck of cards. It was very hard to win. With the app, I can use the “undo” button as much as I want which keeps my winning streak at 100%.
I'm just getting adjusted to updated version; the game continues to be more than expected!
I bought this when my old FreeCell game wouldn’t work after an iOS change, and I needed a few things: 1) An undo option 2) Ability to play in landscape mode 3) Non-buggy functionality I got all of that in this app. It’s excellent!
Playing in landscape mode it’s almost impossible to select cards near the top of the screen without accidentally pulling down the Notification Center
Well written program! Very fun!
Not bad, eh?
I really enjoy FreeCell. Thanks I don’t get tired of it.
Ive been playing this game for a couple of yrs. now, and I'm always looking for a free cell game thats better. I can't. This is the BEST FREE CELL anywhere. The other ones try to get you to buy thiers because they have all these different backrounds and fancy stuff. To a real free cell player , its the game and how it works. There's no sliding cards into place ( I hate that) with this one you just tap. It also has auto complete. I'm being very honest when I tell you, this game has never froze up on me, or had any kind of trouble at all. NEVER!! It' the best game on the market. Try it once you' ll never go to anything else. I love it. I've had it sooo long, but I never get tired of playing. Thanks for such a great game. Please make a Solitare. Please. BB Holmes
