Bug Fix
Dwarf Journey is a compelling action-roguelite that feels like a love letter to classics like Rogue Legacy. You play as a dwarf exploring a procedurally generated cave system, searching for eternity while battling a variety of pixel-art monsters. The progression loop is tight: you go as far as you can, collect ores and blueprints, die, and then spend your earnings on permanent stat upgrades and new gear. The inclusion of a 'Rune' system adds a nice layer of customization, allowing you to tailor your build to your playstyle.
The controls are sharp, which is essential for the precision platforming required in the deeper levels. While the UI has some minor issues with modern iPhone notches, the core gameplay is rock solid. It manages to strike that difficult balance between being punishingly hard and encouragingly rewarding. For fans of the genre looking for a premium experience without the typical mobile fluff, this journey is well worth taking.
Procedurally generated levels for high replayability
Deep crafting and gear upgrade system
Customizable Rune system for varied builds
Challenging boss battles and varied enemy types
Prioritize upgrading your health and defense early on. Focus on finding runes that complement your weapon type to maximize your damage output in boss fights.
Navigate through randomly generated rooms using touch controls or a controller. Use your pickaxe for melee attacks and find blueprints to unlock powerful new abilities.
Yes, Dwarf Journey supports MFi and other Bluetooth controllers for a more console-like experience.
Its a fun game. Nice to have a rougelite more like Rogue Legacy than Dead Cells. However, the UI does not take the iPhone notch into account and important parts of the interface are obscured when playing the game with the notch on the left side. I use a Backbone controller to play this game so having the left is the only option. Would also be great if the game was aware of the controller and would hide the touch UI
Ok, let me start by saying, that I found the first few hours playing this game really fun, and if it weren’t for these issues that I’m about to talk about, I would probably be giving this a higher rating. I am a huge rogue like fan, started with Dead Cells, and now I have, like, twenty and counting. And when I saw that there seemed to be another one for the collection, I was extremely excited. I downloaded the game and found the beginning very fun, interesting leveling up mechanics, I was into it… …Until I reached the level cap… Now, don’t get me wrong, I love a difficult game, but having to, basically, face the same brick wall with a different combination of these 50 levels, just trying to get some progress, having to face the same levels, with the same enemies. Now, I know a rogue like is supposed to be somewhat repetitive at some point in the progression. But this game reached that point, A LOT quicker than other titles I have played. If the developers added some level diversion, like those similar to that of Soul Knight, that would greatly extend the game’s ability to be entertaining for longer. But, anyway, that all that I have to say about this game, the general game mechanics are nice, but the same levels and the same enemies without any diversion can get dull very quickly.
Fun game! I wish I didn’t have to start over from the beginning when I die. How about an option to start at the level you died?
I’ve really enjoyed this game so far. It is repetitive by nature, and the entire point is to build your stats, buff your equipment, and go further the next time. My only feature request is that I wish there were cloud saves so that I could maintain my progress across both my iPhone and iPad.
This was a really fun game. I enjoyed the mechanics, combat and no frills action. It’s a rogue lite that has you handling a dwarf packed with all the elements you would expect. Combat and enemies are fun. Difficulty can be hard but not too hard. Only gripe with it is that it’s on the shorter end, would definitely love to play more of it.
This game has smooth controls, great upgrade system, and good ol’ platformer mechanics that balance difficulty and skill wonderfully. Top of the line game for sure.
Really another amazing game! Just want more of it. More levels more skill tree more secrets/ surprises! More from this developer please!!! Wish you the best!
It has a lot more replayability than one might think.
