Dungeons & Such is an old-school RPG experience designed for mobile. Explore procedurally generated floors filled with treasure and peril. With a focus on strategic turn-based combat and character progression, you'll need to manage your equipment and skills carefully to survive the deeper levels. Simple to pick up, but difficult to master.

Dinsun Expert Review

Our Expert Score

79/100

Dungeons & Such is a refreshing throwback to the era of 'coffee-break' roguelikes. It doesn't bury you in 500-page manuals; instead, it lets the gameplay tell the story. You descend, you fight, you loot, and inevitably, you die—but you always feel like you learned something for the next run.

The pixel art is charming and the turn-based combat is snappy. It's the kind of game that respects your time; you can finish a floor in five minutes or settle in for an hour-long crawl. The progression feels earned, and finding a rare piece of gear in a dark corner is always a highlight. It’s a solid, unpretentious RPG that fans of the genre will love.

Love this game in spite of a rather annoying bug

This is by far the best accessible game I have found in quite a while. There are still things that could improve with regards to accessibility, but I am very comfortable with the games interface, so can't complain. I do have a very bizarre issue, though, which to the best of my knowledge, no one else has ever had. There seem to be some quirks pertaining to the mercenary guild. I tried to hire a friend, but it wasn't working. Foolishly, I deleted the app and re-download it. Since then, my character has shown as level 79 at the mercenary guild, and no matter what I do, this does not change. I've gone so far as starting a new character with a different name, re-creating the character with the name I want to play with, and nothing has changed it. I have deleted and re-downloaded the app several times, but no matter what, the level 79 character persists. Definitely not a huge deal in the grand scheme of life, but I wish my game center data was accurate. I contacted the developer, and he seemed willing to help, but so far, nothing has changed, so maybe it isn't fixable? I thought about deleting the app, waiting a couple of weeks, and then start over. I if that would solve the. This very minor and a,, though, I would very highly recommend this game!

Definitely worth it!

I love the game. The grind down to further and further floors is something that’s always been a good time killer for me. But a few complaints. The first one is that having made a new character, I can’t seem to register him anywhere so I can’t hire mercenaries. They aren’t essential, so no huge biggie. The second thing is the interface in certain spots. If I swipe to see other adventurers in the area, their names are cut in have by the chat log. Again, not too big of a deal. But the thing that does bug me is that I figured out you can swipe where your health is to see your minions health. This doesn’t work entirely. I find myself swiping over and over to get the tab to change at times. It would help if it was a seemless transition. (I have an IPhone X. If that tells you anything.) Update: Had to come back to this and give it that last star. What makes a good game is a developer who actually listens to what people say and improves upon it. Good work! 👍

This is one of the first games I ever got super into on my first iPod and I have always loved it. Recently got back into it and I still love the game but there’s a couple things that slightly get to me. When an enemy uses a spell to confuse you it’s just over. They confuse you for 7 turns and they have all those turns to just perma confuse you. There’s no way to prevent it without just being tanky enough to wait for the rng to not keep confusing you or to try and kill the enemy that may confuse immediately. That is doable but what happens if there are two enemies that can confuse you. Like I love the game still but that will get to me. Also sometimes when reading an item description it copies all the text and doubles it slightly below the original text making it hard to read. Update I am currently confused for the next 50 turns. My point exactly. And there’s only one enemy who can use confuse. Bruh I didn’t see the enemy that can confuse at first so I didn’t kill it first turn and now I’m confused for 99 turns. Balanced Another thing. I have two power rings. One gives plus 5 strength and the other plus 4 strength. The one that gives plus 5 only sells for 150 and the one that gives plus 4 sells for 405. Interesting business concept

Dungeons & Such is one of the best values on the App Store, hands down. On par with other indie classics like A Dark Room, D&S offers 20+ hours of dungeon crawling. Best of all, purchasing the game supports a phenomenal developer and will hopefully incentivize them to continue releasing fantastic content like this. Note to the dev: The base game is terrific value, but an additional (and more expensive) one time purchase option for additional end game content could be an avenue for further monetization without starting from scratch. An “expansion” allowing the player to turn their dungeon spoils into a city builder / resource management game in which the city is occasionally raided and requires defending would be a creative way to allow us to continue putting out fully geared hero’s to work. And after investing the amount of time we have, surely there are many of us who would be willing to pay again for the added content. Tips in the jar!

Great game, but there are a few major problems.

This game is amazing, and I love that it is accessible. However, there are a few balancing issues that I feel need to be pointed out. First of all, there are points when you have a few enemies that could kill you by confusing you, or putting you to sleep. And then you have toothed worms, or enemies that you could kill in one shot Grouped up right alongside them. That, should be addressed. Secondly, fishing. Why does that even exist, if nine times out of 10 you’re not going to catch anything? I personally think that should be fixed. Thirdly, and this is just a personal thing. I think the music when you are exploring the dungeon should be looped. Also I think the volume of the sound affects should be adjusted. As a voice over user, I find that the sound effects are too quiet. More specifically, the battle sound effects. Everything else is just fine. But other than that, it is an amazing game as I’ve already stated.

Hello, this is Kevin. I am kind of curious as to if you can make the sounds for the sword and other sounds more realistic and also could you make the sound quality even better? Also, when I’m trying to fortune item and I have no ors, but yet when I press Forge, it says I don’t have enough gold. Can you fix that also? Those are the only two suggestions I have thank you. also, if a player is at level 600 and he, or she is helping another player, I was thinking that maybe the other player could cause more damage to the enemy when they are helping. Also, when the dungeon gets harder, will you add 50 more floors? Also, you add an endless mode? Whereas the dungeon floors never end. Also, could you add a weapon that starts out as attack powers one but later on if you level up so many times like for example, dungeon level eight, can you have a weapon go to as like attack power 644 when it first start? Thank you so much.

I love this game it’s very amazing and very addicting however whenever I go to the magic master it tells me that they have nothing more to teach me when I have certain spells that I have not learned yet other than this bug the game is amazing I will edit if I find any more and thank you very much I have found two more bugs to report whenever I try to wander the 40th floor it just says there are stairs leading to the next floor and whenever I am wearing the holy armor it does not apply the anti-confused I figured out the magic master problem but when I get hit with confuse my holy armor does not repel it and whenever I try to wander the 40th floor multiple times it will say there are stairs leading to the next floor but that is all it says if these bugs could be fixed that would be wonderful thank you very much

I’m really loving this game. Found the lite version while searching for D&D apps. Very glad I toke the time out of my search to play. Nearly to level 100, and moved on to the full version, which was well worth my money. I do have a few question about the game though, and was wondering if we could get an in game wiki/guild/help book type item to explain the different items? Also, any chance at future additions to the house? I’ve done some looking online, and don’t see any sort of facebook group, or reddit page or anything of the sort for this game. Not sure if people can respond to this, but if so, is there one? I’d love to be able to talk with other players, without everyone having to stop their progress down the dungeon to do it.
