Minor improvements
Crypt of the NecroDancer has always been one of the most innovative roguelikes ever made, and this Crunchyroll edition brings all that rhythmic goodness to mobile with some fantastic extras. The core hook—moving and attacking on the beat—remains as tight and challenging as ever. It's a game that requires both strategic planning and a great sense of rhythm, making for a uniquely intense experience.
The addition of Hatsune Miku as a playable character is a stroke of genius. Her unique playstyle, which changes how you move and dig, adds a fresh layer to a game I’ve already spent hundreds of hours in. The mobile controls are surprisingly robust, though I still prefer using a Bluetooth controller for the higher-difficulty zones. Having the Danny Baranowsky soundtrack alongside the ability to use your own music makes the audio experience world-class. If you have a Crunchyroll membership, this is an absolute must-download.
19 playable characters with unique styles
Award-winning soundtrack with 6 playable remixes
Online cross-platform multiplayer for up to 8 players
Custom music support (non-DRM)
Daily and Weekly community challenges
Don't rush your moves. Each monster has a specific movement pattern tied to the beat. Learning these patterns allows you to dance around enemies and strike when they are vulnerable without taking damage.
When playing as Miku, you can move in all 8 directions and use your 'Sing' ability to charm monsters. Her movement is more fluid but requires constant rhythm to maintain her attack chain.
Yes, this version of the game requires a Crunchyroll Mega Fan or Ultimate Fan membership to access.
Good game, but the original iOS release had backbone support and I can’t get it to work with this version? Please fix
This is an amazing game it has a great art style an amazing sound track and unique game play. To the people complaining that it’s locked behind a subscription this is not the first time this has happened just look at Netflix it’s the exact same thing Crunchy Roll isn’t the first. To the reviews that say this should be free just no! It! Should! NOT! The developers deserve to be paid for the love and effort they put into this game! I fully believe that having a way that the developers get paid that doesn’t shove adds or micro transactions in your face every two seconds makes this a far better experience in all respects! The only real criticism that I have for this game is it doesn’t support the backbone controller and while I can connect a controller via Bluetooth like a DS4/Dual Sense and an Xbox controller it isn’t as convenient to do so. And I don’t know why the Backbone is not compatible with this game. My friend has a Razor Kishi and that is compatible but the Backbone isn’t; I don’t get it.
So im not really sure why people are tweaking out over the fact that its a free game but you need a Crunchyroll subscription. Like, this game is literally from the Crunchyroll game vault.
Game doesn’t work, just stuck at login screen. If I pay the 12 dollar a month subscription will it let me play the game? The text is not clear and it’s not worth risking it for more than most premium games cost to buy, per month.
I would give it a 5 star review but they forgot something that was In the description in the featured section it said it has a exclusive danganronpa soundtrack and playable characters so I downloaded the game for the danganronpa soundtrack and it isn’t there. I want to know if this is a bug for it not showing the danganronpa soundtrack but I hope i can hear a response to know if it will be fixed pls and thank you.
Great game adapted well for the iPhone. The only downside is that you need to be subscribed to crunchyroll. In my case, I already was subscribed so I’m fine but I understand that most people who don’t have a subscription will not be able to enjoy the game here. If that’s the case, the game is in every platform then. Still, I recommend the game 100%. Super fun and high replay value.
Unavailable. Don’t have a crunchyroll subscription, which is ridiculous. I am a fan of Necrodancer. I am not a fan of crunchyroll. These are completely separate entities, and yet, the objectively bad entity is, for no reason, required to access the good thing. Bad business, objectively, and the executives are stupid on both Necrodancer’s side and crunchyroll’s. Boo. I hope crunchyroll as a company fails and everyone who works there loses their jobs, and all the executives lose all of their money, forever.
This game has fun music and a unique play style. You move through the dungeon and attack the enemies to the beat of the music. Don’t listen to the morons who complain about a subscription. This app is only for Crunchyroll subscribers. If you don’t have Crunchyroll subscription, you can’t play the game. Simple!
