Fishing Star World Tour, now part of the Crunchyroll Game Vault, is a fantastic example of a 'hooky' RPG (pun intended). It manages to bridge the gap between a hardcore fishing simulator and a colorful, anime-style adventure. The variety of fish—over 180 species—is staggering, and the 'fight' mechanics require genuine strategy. You can't just mash a button; you have to manage line tension and react to the fish's movements in real-time.
The progression system is where the game truly shines. Each new location feels like a distinct 'world' with its own ecosystem and gear requirements. Being the Crunchyroll version, the lack of ads and microtransactions is a massive breath of fresh air, allowing the game's natural balance to show through. It’s relaxing when you want it to be, but intensely competitive when you're trying to land a legendary Boss fish. For Crunchyroll members, this is an absolute must-download.
180+ types of fish to collect
40+ fishing spots worldwide
Fully unlocked Crunchyroll Game Vault content
Motion control support
When the fish jumps, stop reeling immediately. If the tension meter turns red, you have 0.5 seconds to release your finger or the line will snap.
Unlock new locations by completing 'Grand Prize' missions. Catching the Boss Fish in each area grants access to the next world tour destination.
It is primarily a single-player journey, but there are global leaderboards for largest catches.
Logging in every time to play is annoying.
Unfortunately it doesn’t work on my iPad even tho it says it does. It stays stuck on the Crunchyroll logo with a black screen. I preordered and it’s very disappointing to waited for no reason.
The game itself is not too bad, however having to manually log in every time you want to play is very annoying
Game doesn’t load past the crunchyroll screen
Stays stuck on the Crunchyroll screen
