Countless Army: Mobile Edition is a technical marvel. Most mobile strategy games limit you to a dozen units to save on processing power, but this game genuinely delivers on its promise of 'thousands' of soldiers clashing simultaneously. Seeing a massive wave of 2,000 skeletons wash over a fortified human wall is a sight to behold, especially on a modern iPhone. The custom engine handles the pathfinding and animations with surprising fluidity, rarely dipping in framerate even during the most chaotic moments.
Strategy-wise, it leans more toward 'macro' management than 'micro.' You aren't individually moving every soldier; instead, you're setting formations, managing the flow of reinforcements, and choosing the right moment to trigger your commander's abilities. The campaign is surprisingly deep, featuring a story that takes you across various fantasy biomes, each requiring a different tactical approach. While the multiplayer can be intense and a bit unforgiving for newcomers, the sheer scale of the battles makes it the most impressive RTS currently available on the App Store.

Always place your Shield-bearers in front of your Archers. This formation provides a defensive wall that allows your ranged units to fire safely.
Prioritize capturing the Gold Mines early in the match. Without a steady flow of gold, you won't be able to replenish your army as the battle wears on.
The game includes 'Performance Mode' settings to ensure smooth gameplay on older hardware.
You click on cards but the iPhone pull bar gets activated all the time. You click around and things change. No real click feedback just very confusing :(
The game is fun, but it does have the same issues as previous reviews have stated. I’ll keep playing it tho bc it’s really fun. Hope the developer can push some updates out so more people can enjoy it!
This game is currently only suitable with a controller. the touch system is broken and until fixed, this game is unplayable via touch. Which is really too bad because it’s a fun game. I strongly recommend not purchasing this game if you don’t have a decent controller
