Clue for the mobile phone and tablet, at last!

It's about time! I like that with this version you get to combine different characters, to suit your own personal opinion of how the characters look. If you don't care for the new character Dr. Orchid, you can pay $3 and get Mrs. White the classic housekeeper. There is also a secondary version of Mrs. White for $2, and she appears to be a distinguished entertainer rather than a housekeeper. Mr. Green has two different personas: the classic plump middle aged clergyman or businessman, or the more modern rendering of a young mercenary or playboy. There are young and old versions of Professor Plum and Colonel Mustard and Mrs. Peacock as well. Miss Scarlett doesn't change much in her two personas, but that's just my opinion. In addition to Dr. Orchid, there are other new characters to play as, like Inspector Gray, who appears to be an elderly private detective gone bad. There is Miss Peach, Prince Azure, Monsieur Brunette (with a cool eye-patch), and Madame Rose. You can play the old classic board or a more modern version that brings the rooms closer together. The weapons are still the same from the classic version. I highly recommend this to anyone who is a fan of the Clue board game, as I think they will find a lot of fun. The only bad thing I can say about it is that it costs money, a grand total of something like $20, to get all the new characters and the option of different versions of the old characters. But apart from that, I have nothing to complain. Thank you for finally bringing this game in to the family of mobile-device users!

Needs some reward incentives

I just bought the game and have played it nonstop for a day. Honestly, a lot of fun and a very smooth game. They make it simple and easy for note taking by making it automatic and also allowing you to make your own notes, with a few symbols. However, one con about the game that I found after playing for a day, is that there isn’t that rewarding feeling after the strategic puzzling you’ve gone through to win. Really wish there was some reward incentives other than seeing your name climb the leaderboard. I understand that there are in app purchases for better game cosmetics, however, I think you should unlock some cosmetics to be earned as a reward incentive. For example, unlocking certain characters with the stars you earn instead of using it towards the leadership board. I think it would be highly unlikely that someone would pay $2.99 for one character, when they can pay $5.99 for a character pack or $6.99 for a theme pack with the characters and board included. You can also add unlocking other things with stars like profile pictures, profile frames, and character frames. I took a look at the latest update which was 5 months ago. I hope you guys really take this into consideration for the next update, as I believe this could make the game so much better and so much more addicting!

I like playing clue for the strategy. While there is still some involved in this app version, I’ve been frustrated to find this game does most the thinking for you by deductions you don’t even have a chance to make (i.e. every round of guesses it automatically records on your sheet all the cards that every other player does not have, rather than having to figure that out for yourself)— and deductions many players wouldn’t even be able to make left to their own skill. The only way I have fun on this app is by playing real people and manually writing a clue sheet per every game so I can make my own deductions (and this is already with “hints off”— can’t imagine how mindless it would be when provided with even extra help). But even when you manually make you’re own clue sheet it’s extremely extra tedious by the addition of new characters every single game you play (like “Brunette”, “Watson” or “Rose”) so you can’t use the same clue sheet on your next game but have to rewrite the character options every time due to a rotating inconsistent cast of characters. Also—- not sure why there needs to be so much animation and the time lag for rolling dice. Guess I can’t speak for others- but I’m playing the game to work my brain and compete, not to be entertained by fancy graphics or watch digital dice get rolled. I love clue the board game. I wish this app could have a more “true to the original game” option for those of us that like to think and win for ourselves without aid from AI.

All the things in this Game R awesome! The only thing that I would change is maybe just leave out the purchases but if you can’t leave out the purchases I would totally recommend lowering the price or even having no price at all that’s what I would really recommend. I really like how you can switch between easy medium and hard because I’m usually easy/medium level but I sometimes do hard. Could you put a box where you could type a message to the other players? I really like to interact with people and I think that interacting with the robots or your friends or whatever would be awesome. I also like the hints because sometimes you just need a hint really bad. Thank you so much for adding the cancel button!!! I almost made an accusation (for example, Professor Plum in the lounge with the dagger), but I clicked the cancel button because I didn’t want to accuse too early, I want to verify so thank you for making the cancel button! Maybe the app can not take up so much storage? If you read this review, developers, Please listen to this review.

My Favorite Game

I was hoping today’s update would include a way to track cards shown to other players. I always play as a single player and am disappointed the updates only impact multiplayers at his time. Please don’t forget single players who want a way to track cards. Thanks! —————————————— Here is an update to my previous review. I have heard back from the developers and they are considering my request to provide a way to track cards we’ve shown to other players. I was happy to hear that because I think that’s the only flaw in an otherwise perfect game. Thanks! Hope to see an update soon! ——————————————————————————- PREVIOUS REVIEW: I love this game and bought a few other themes, then decided to just buy the whole package. I ended up spending quite a bit more that way but I’m glad I did because they’re so much fun and beautiful. My only problem is that to play it like the real game, it needs to have a way to keep track of the cards we’ve shown to other players. I’ve requested this several times but have never heard a word back from the developers. I see other responses but no one will respond to my request. I also don’t like that the number thrown on the dice is not consistent with the rooms that are available to the player. This is a great game, however. My favorite by far. I would appreciate a response about whether you’re considering a way to track cards we’ve shown to other players. It could be as simple as touching the space in a player’s column to highlight it for cards that we hold. Thanks. I hope to hear from you.

Do NOT waste your money on this game…

I wish I would have thoroughly read the reviews on this game BEFORE spending money on it… I bought this game solely to be able to play with my family now that we all live in different cities and states, but it NEVER WORKS for us!! I have YET to play a game to the end because the app WILL freeze while you’re on the play with friends option - which, again, is the ONLY reason I bought this app is because it advertises that you can play with friends. We have even been reaching out to the company several times over the past few months and reported the issue to give them chances to fix it, just to constantly be told they’re “sorry” and that they will “forward my email to the team” so that updates can be made. They have had ONE app update in the last 3 months, and it did not fix anything! We have since emailed stating that if they are unable to fix the problem then we would like our money back, and again we received the same basic response to make it look like they care about this issue when it’s obvious now that they don’t. Why would they care to fix the issue when you already gave them your money?

I love this game, but there are a few glitches

I love this game, it is so fun, and the graphics are amazing! I also love the new maps, like tropical mystery, Sherlock, Hollywood studio, and all the others! Tropical mystery is my favorite! I just need to talk about some glitches. The first one is about the AIs when playing with friends. I feel like sometimes, if you put it on easy they are harder, but if you put it in hard they are easier. And sometimes, no matter what difficulty, they get lucky sometimes and guess it too early. The last thing is a small glitch that has been going on for probably only about a week, but when I try to play with friends, I create a game, but when people join, they don’t show up for the person who start the game, and it is hard to get everyone into the game. And sometimes when the game finally starts, after a couple turns, the game freezes and it might say that the person left the game. I might like this to be fixed because I like to play this game with my friends online! Thank you for reading this!

Really fun, needs few improvements

A great classic Tudor board but odd character art. Many of the characters just aren’t fun to look at. However, the rooms on the boards have more doors and are therefore easier to get into with a low dice roll, which is great. The notation system takes basic notes for you and gives you the ability to take extra notes, which is great. But if you get your accusation wrong, you don’t have the option to go back and look at your notes to see where you went wrong. Avid players need this option! Another improvement I’d like: I want to be able to see the board after I’ve already gone into a room. That way, when I’m choosing which character and weapon to suggest, I can plan according to how close/far the next room I want to visit is. I enjoy the online mode because the timer keeps the game moving, but I’m disappointed that the “play against friends” mode requires 3+ live players. It’d be great to have an AI or two join in when I have only one friend to play against. And finally, the extra boards and characters cost WAY TOO MUCH $$. I bought the Snow Lodge board and didn’t think the art was as interesting as in the classic Tudor board that comes free with the app. There’s no way I’m going to pay another $7 to be disappointed by another board/character package. I did like that Mrs White had her own dog in the Snow character package—it’d be fun to see more pets with characters! Overall a really fun, quick-moving game in the spirit of the original board game.
