Clay Jam Classic is a visual triumph. In an era of generic 3D models, seeing a world that is clearly hand-crafted with love and fingerprints is a joy. The aesthetic alone makes it worth the download, but the gameplay is surprisingly engaging as well. The 'gouging' mechanic is a clever use of touch screens, making you feel like you're actually interacting with the soft clay ground.
It's a very lighthearted, funny game that doesn't take itself too seriously. The character designs are grotesque in the best possible way—like something out of a '90s Saturday morning cartoon. It’s perfect for kids, but there’s enough charm and high-score chasing to keep adults entertained too. It’s a unique, colorful, and 'squishy' experience that stands out in any game library.
Stunning hand-sculpted claymation graphics
Unique 'path-gouging' control system
Over 20 hand-made monsters to squish
Hilarious sound effects and soundtrack
Unlockable power-ups and custom pebble skins
Don't just aim for the biggest monsters. Squishing several small ones in quick succession builds a combo that makes you grow faster than hitting one large enemy every few seconds.
In the boss battle, wait for the arrow to turn green before flicking. A perfectly timed flick sends the beast further, earning you more 'Clay' to spend on upgrades and new hills.
Yes! Every asset in the game was actually made from clay and then photographed and animated digitally.
This game was one of my favorites growing up, I remember the last time I saw it was in 2018 and installed it on my phone to play but never got around to it. Since then, I haven’t been able to play it properly. It’s been so nostalgic coming back to this game, I don’t understand why it was ever taken down but it was worth every penny to see it like it once was. Truly a magnificent, charming game.
The game is just the way I remembered it… with one exception. Everything in the shops are half the price they were in the original, which kind of takes some of the fun away from playing the game. Especially now that Monster Love’s back: I managed to complete all the quests on the very first island, and did one round of Monster love, and ended up with enough money to rebuild the next world and unlock the third. Unless there’s another twist in this game (I.e, another island) that can balance this out, it’s a little underwhelming to find out I can essentially unlock everything with a ton of excess clay.
My sister and I used to beg my mom to let us use her iPhone 4 back when this first came out so we could play. We played this game soooo much as kids. We talk about it all the time and about how sad we were when it was taken off of the App Store. I randomly checked today and it was back! I happily payed the $3 just to get my hands back on this amazing game.
Used to play this game constantly as a young child. When I heard it was coming back as an adult, I was so overjoyed I immediately pre-ordered. The gameplay is so smooth and the nostalgia is so high I genuinely shed a tear playing it again. Only difference is now I have the cognitive ability to be better at navigating the little pebble! Yay!
thank you fat pebble for bringing back this masterpiece of a game, I truly loved it a lot and I had missed it since its removal, but you bringing this game back is a puzzle piece to my happiness, I now often dedicate some of my time to even drawing and sculpting YOUR clay monsters as a way of making fanart. Thank you.
Clay Jam is fun, you should download it. No ads no limit and it's hand made (which gives it x5000 more reasons to love). It took 2 tries to get in the groove of things but once I got it I couldn't stop. I love being able to beat my last score and keep trying to consume every clay creature/ thing.
I used to play this all the time when i was younger and was so upset when i saw you couldnt download it anymore a year or two back. I just thought about it and decided to do a google search and saw it was available to download once again. This was my childhood im so happy
When I was little I had a tablet and I used to play this game all the time with my little sister it was so much fun I’m glad they got it back but I don’t see the reason for the 3 dollar price tag but regardless it’s sm fun and me and my sister will be playing it
