Our Expert Score

88/100

Chrome Valley Customs is a breath of fresh air for car enthusiasts who are tired of the same old generic match-3 clones. By leaning heavily into the 'restoration' fantasy, it creates a gameplay loop that feels genuinely rewarding. You aren't just matching gems; you're earning the parts needed to turn a rusted frame into a show-stopping muscle car. The car models are impressively detailed for mobile, and the customization options—from paint finishes to engine components—actually feel substantial.

What sets this apart is the vibe. The 'garage' atmosphere is spot on, and the satisfaction of stripping down a junker and seeing it shine again hits that same spot as popular automotive TV shows. The puzzles are well-balanced, though they do get challenging in the later stages, necessitating some strategic use of boosters. If you love cars and enjoy the tactile feel of a good puzzle game, this is a premium experience that respects its subject matter.

Now I may be just a kid but I’m not dumb. I feel like this game should be more about cars than just some boring matching game. Now don’t get me wrong the car part of the game is really fun the way you get to customize and refurbish old cars, and I really like how it tells you info about each part I don’t know why but it’s pretty cool. But the matching part of the game really gets kind of annoying and/or boring and that is why I stopped playing royal match. I am a car lover and I’m pretty sure anyone else playing this game would love cars too, but I do understand why you put in the matching thing. I think there are other ways to get players money for example in the real world people would pay a ton of money to get that done to their cars and then you could find other smaller ways for players to get coins. Now another recommendation is you could pay less money to buy less valuable parts but the more valuable the parts the more the customer has to pay to give it more of a car jobs feel. When I grow up I think one of those jobs would be really fun. Now I know your probably gonna read this then move on and think nothing of it so I just ask you to consider, consider making your game fun for car lovers or people new to them or I guess you can just go back to the same old game just like any other matching game.

Great Game!

I don’t write reviews often, buuut for this game I just had to! First, let me say: It’s sooo refreshing playing a (really good) game WITHOUT ANY ADS!! I’mma say it again,..”NO ADS!!!” AWESOMENESS!!😜I also enjoy the storyline and the character interaction with Me. The graphics are great, AND I truly enjoy the matching game part also! Check this out ~ I downloaded this game days ago, but only opened it hours ago…And Have Been Playing it Since I Opened It!! Love it!😍 However, if I’m allowed to throw an idea or two out there🤔then I’d ask •• could there be more colors added to the paints? Would you think of allowing Us to turn the vehicle “during”customizations? Also, allow Us to open the doors (since We go thru the process of customizing the inside) during the review and photo ‘sessions’? And as for the matching game part: Can We have a few more extra emeralds for the leftover boosters accumulated during gameplay, but not used?? And Possibly more mechanic coins on certain levels🥺 {This is the longest review I’ve EVER written!😁} I just have to say: Way To Go Devs!!👏🏼💯 Love the way y’all think!💗😉

UPDATED: No longer 4 stars
Wed Nov 01 2023 MadMundus

UPDATE: Although I love the premise, I can’t even give 4 stars now. The AI when firing off any power ups is non-existent. Here’s an example: There is one piston left to release a big explosion. (Sorry for the lack of correct terminology.) I merge two stars figuring one of the three that get released would target the remaining piston. Nope. The AI just sends them around randomly. Poor programming. This is done very well in other games, like Royal Match. It should be an easy fix. Otherwise, this game is just random. It’s very frustrating to repeat levels over and over based on pure luck. Original review: I love the premise of this game. Fixing up cars and customizing them to your liking is a blast. I have two major complaints, though, that prevent me from giving a higher rating. First, the Chrome Pass is just way too expensive for a mobile game. Cut that price in half, and I would buy it if they fixed the next problem. The game is just too hard at times. They only way to beat certain levels is to get extremely lucky or use many gems to continue and/or many power ups. It gets very frustrating to play the same level over and over and over and just not get the lucky drops you need to beat it. Other games get around this problem by giving you more moves per “continue” if you fail the level more than 10 times. This helps a lot! Please fix these things for 5 stars.

Was great until the new developers took over

I play a lot and love the puzzles and customization; however, with the new developers it seems like theyre really trying to squeeze money out of people to beat levels. Even the “normal” levels are insanely difficult with the allotted moves. The new supercharged reward that improves the gauge powerup is virtually useless because of this. It takes 10 completed levels to earn it and resets as soon as you lose level (a 15-30 min time slot of unlimited uses would be better). With the latest massive increase in difficulty i get to use it for one level, still end up considerably short of completion with the number of moves given, and then have to wait another 10 levels for it again. Pointless reward. The Hard and Super Hard levels are actually impossible now unless you use gems for more moves. The last one I did I attempted more than 100 times (without getting anywhere close to complete) before I finally had accumulated enough gems from random events to squeak by. These impossible levels are taking all the enjoyment out of the game. Im fine with difficult levels. Those should exist. But it is evident that all levels have become exponentially more difficult to the extent that some are completely impossible without extra moves and it seems the only reason I can come up with is to get players to spend more money. Not cool.

When I first downloaded this game, I had no clue it was a matching puzzle game. So even though I was disappointed, I overlooked this because of how fun the car restoration aspect was. The first couple hours I thought were entertaining, then I realized that the prices for things became higher. I know this makes sense in general, but there is literally no balancing the price of these tasks. Tell me why it cost more to interact with the client than to actually fix a tail light. Then the puzzles became harder to the point where the game relies on you spending money on it to progress. I was at level 173 when I finally bought the rewards thing because there was no other way to keep playing. I never spend money on phone games, and I realize now that I was fooled. This did nothing for me, it actually didn’t do anything to help me get through the game faster. Believe it or not, when the puzzle is purely luck based it doesn’t matter if you have infinite lives for ten minutes because there isn’t any guarantee that you will complete it. I’m at the point where you cannot even do a single task because it’s almost a thousand dollars to do one. I shouldn’t have to do four excruciating puzzles to do a single task. This is simply not fun anymore. If you really care about your player base, remove these problems. I don’t think you will, because you get the most money this way.

This game is fabulous in so many ways that enthusiasts can appreciate about the car builds and gameplay. I’m happy to play the puzzles as many times as I need to, but without spending actual money I wish the levels were easier throughout. Once you get to level 125 and higher they are so hard to complete and with very little booster help, that I just want to quit and go play Alchemy 2 or Baseball9. And the simple levels reward as many coins as the super hard levels. If it were easier to pass levels I’d play this game nonstop. Either make all levels easily passable or at least make the harder levels worth more coins. The Telesto, for example, has so many parts and they are way more expensive than the Colt. So I only try to pass the Telesto level once per day and use up my lives. Discouraging. Also, I’d like to echo what user JusDaShiznit said. Those are great ideas for the garage I love the effort put into mimicking the OEM vehicles without using their actual names so the game can stay free of ads and licensing. PLEASE make the levels easier to complete for those of not spending actual $$ and we will refer everyone to this game. We are involved heavily in the custom car community here on the MS Gulf Coast

great game with some bugs

i NEVER leave reviews but this is just such a great game i have to put my 2 cents in. this is by far one of the best ( if not the best ) matching games i have ever played. fantastic premise, i love the customization ( it could use some more colors but that’s just my opinion ) i adore the characters and the story, and it’s honestly such a well rounded game … HOWEVER, the programming/AI for the powerups is terrible. for example, when you get into the thousands on levels, you unlock the blueprint buckets as another challenge ( i’m not sure the actual terminology sorry in advance ). for example, if you combine the fan with the rocket it will go for the not yet revealed bulletin board instead of something more crucial like the actual buckets themselves or other obstacles you may face on certain levels. its a total waste of a move that could be game winning. other than the AI/programming being off for the automatic powerups, this game is fantastic like i mentioned previously. i hope the developers continue to put out updates and take care of this game, the new lives inbox was a great addition! keep good stuff like that coming!

Conflicted…as everyone else

This game was promising. And I’m not the type to leave a review. I saw it recommended on the “games were playing” section on the App Store, and thought I might give it a shot. The first issue was that I had no idea it was even a puzzle game, but that’s fine I can overlook it. Played the game for a solid few hours and enjoyed it. Got the first car done. I also had some spare cash lying around so I actually BOUGHT the leveling progression thing where you get the rewards. This is the first time I spent money on an app like this, and I’m disappointed in myself. As I’m working on the second car, the prices get higher for the parts and the levels get harder. And granted the levels are supposed to get harder, but this is just stupid hard. For the people who got to level 186 without paying for anything, how?? I’m stuck on level 76 WITH the thing I bought and I just can’t get passed it. It’s been two days now. And it’s all purely luck based. I really wanted to like this game, but the lives taking 30 minutes, the gems not paying out enough after every level, the balancing which is simply not there. It’s too much to overlook. You’ve been warned if you download this game. Don’t let the fun cars draw you in.
