Bloodhound SSC is a high-speed technical sim that captures the engineering marvel of the world's fastest land-speed vehicle. It is less of a 'racing' game and more of a precision control challenge. As an expert in technical sims, I appreciated the focus on the aerodynamics and power management required to break the sound barrier. The sense of speed is well-conveyed, but it is the tension of keeping the car stable at 1000mph that provides the real hook.
The graphics are functional and clear, focusing on the desert landscape and the mechanical data of the vehicle. While it lacks the 'fun' of an arcade racer, it excels at providing a realistic look at the physics of supersonic travel. The challenge modes—which task you with hitting specific speed milestones while managing engine heat—are rewarding for those who enjoy the 'test pilot' experience. It’s a niche title, but a highly polished one for fans of engineering and land-speed records.

Once you pass 700mph, your steering input becomes extremely sensitive. Use tiny taps rather than holding the joystick to avoid a high-speed rollover that will destroy the car instantly.
Keep a close eye on the 'Temperature' gauge. If your jet engine overheats, your thrust will drop, making it impossible to hit the record speed. Use the airbrakes sparingly to cool down without losing too much momentum.
No, it is a technical flight-sim style game focused on land-speed record attempts.
This game is really fun. The game needs updates such as thrust effects and you should be able to control from any angle and please add 3rd person view. I would give this game 5 stars if it had these changes.
This game is a blast except the forward view glitches for no reason and only shows the sky so you can’t see the blue line you are to follow. Shutting the game down does not reset the issue. Also, when it does work right and you make it through the gates at over 1000mph, you see the record is over 24 million mph. This game could be great fun if the developers cared a little bit. I would like my .99 cents back.
This is one of those, "OK, just one more try" kind of games. It's all about fine steering control and timing the activation of the different vehicle systems. Follow the blue line. Activate the systems (jet, afterburner, rocket-1, rocket-2) at the proper times or speeds. The external views are almost superfluous: if you have time for sightseeing you're not going fast enough. I'd give it five stars if the control panel didn't disappear through the gates. That makes it difficult to monitor the systems to optimize your run. It does look cool, though.
Unless some pretty drastic updates are made this game is not playable. When driving, you must control the vehicle from the cockpit. But you cannot see the lines you're supposed to stay between while in the cockpit, so you can never finish a full run. Please update, it has the potential to be a cool game.
Out the window view on iPad mini does not work. You can't see the ground. On iPhone 6 the second stage button doesn't work.
