Block Puzzle Sudoku Style is a clever evolution of the 'Tetris' and 'Sudoku' genres. Instead of just clearing lines horizontally or vertically, you also have to consider the 3x3 grids found in a Sudoku board. This added layer of complexity makes every move feel much more significant. You can't just dump blocks anywhere; you have to plan ahead to clear large sections at once.
The 'Zen' mode is where I spent most of my time—there's no clock, just a high score to beat and a very clean, minimalist interface. It’s incredibly satisfying to place a piece that clears a line and a 3x3 square simultaneously. While there are many games like this, this specific version has very tight controls and doesn't clutter the screen with unnecessary animations. It’s a pure, high-quality logic puzzle.

Try to clear multiple lines or squares with a single block to earn 'Combo' points, which exponentially increase your score.

Nice game, but …

Couple of bugs though: 1st which is just an annoyance is that when you go to select a piece it jumps away from where your finger is. I’ve mostly gotten used to that though. The bigger bug is that while I am dragging a piece into position, it will often place itself into an unwanted spot. I have to be super careful while selecting and dragging or the piece ends up in the wrong place, thus minus one star. (I’m not bothered by the adds, as I just turn off my Wi-Fi and it plays add free!) Just noticed, a month or several months later, that neither the piece selection jumping or the unwanted placement is happening anymore, so one of their updates probably addressed those issues which prompted me to increase my rating to 5 stars.
Algorithm change?
Wed May 03 2023 BringthefunbackI’ve been playing this game for almost a year and have loved it — to the point I was basically addicted and playing too much. So I deleted it. A week later I missed playing and brought it back but something seems to have changed. Previously, I could routinely score in the 10s of thousands. My record was over 100,000. Now? I can barely clear 1,000 most times. Did you make the game significantly harder? And if so, why? It was fun to get on long runs but now it’s just a frustrating repetition of near immediate wipe-outs. My skill level couldn’t haven’t crashed that much. It seems the new shapes are a constant barrage of full corners and large Ts. Why?? This is no fun. Bring fun Blocks back! Update: I’m done. It’s just a succession of huge pieces one after another that makes it impossible to sustain a game. Combine that now with inappropriate political ads and the dumb tricks they’re incorporating to make it hard to click out of the ads, and it’s just not a fun experience anymore. Good job, treat, you couldn’t let a good thing be and instead have screwed up your own game. It’s been good but buh-bye.
Really calming

Whole there may be a few bugs such as pieces occasionally jumping to the spot right next to where I want them, the game is overall amazing. The simplicity is extremely refreshing from all other kinds of games and it is something that you can just easily play whenever. One highlight being that it functions offline. I truly enjoy it and as stated earlier it is currently an anchor for me whilst I am studying for my exams. Thank you for developing this treasure!
Well-implemented with one annoyance

There is one annoyance however that is not enough for me to stop playing but is still irritating nonetheless. Actually, it is enough for me to stop playing. Many times I’ve accidentally swiped over the quit/restart button on the bottom left….usually when I’m pursuing a high score. There really needs to be a confirmation dialog, or at least a setting to have a confirmation dialog.
Almost perfect

The only thing I have to mention that I hope is something worth fixing is the position of the “new game” button. So many times I have gone to get that block shape on the left and accidentally hit the new game button and lost my game. This invariably happens when I am doing well and getting a pretty high score. If that could be repositioned somehow it would be great! I occasionally hit the settings button, too, but that doesn’t lose my game so no problem there. Otherwise awesome job!!
Location of ads and buttons
Sat Dec 17 2022 LilyPotter130It would be helpful to move the “new game” and “settings” buttons and ads to the top of the screen. Most people hold their phones at the bottom. While holding the phone in this completely normal fashion, it’s very easy to trigger these buttons and ads. It’s bothersome to have a game interrupted by accidentally hitting the ad, which starts to play loudly. It’s irritating to have the game interrupted by accidentally hitting the settings button. But it’s EXTREMELY ANNOYING to have a good game going, and accidentally trigger the “new game” button, which resets your score to zero. This happens to me frequently, and I don’t imagine I’m the only one. I’m certain this is an easy fix.

Move the Start Game button!
Sat Jul 02 2022 Sweetsue52Please move the start (and the settings) button to the top of the page where it is less likely to accidentally cause a game to be lost. I have the iPhone version of this game and find my average score is 5k to 8k with my highest being 21,700. My highest on the iPad is about 1800 but some games end before I reach 100 and my average is less than 500. I have yet to have a single block or a diagonal of 2 blocks as an option to play to score on 9 in a row or a 9 block square on the grid. I’m ready to delete the iPad game completely. I agree with the other reviews that there are annoying bugs and without fixes, I cannot recommend this game.
