Block Out: Color Sort Puzzle is a refreshing take on the popular liquid-sorting genre, replacing water with tactile, 3D blocks. The objective is simple: reorganize the blocks across various containers until each tube contains only one color. As you progress, the number of tubes increases and the block patterns become more complex, requiring careful spatial reasoning and forward-thinking. With no timers and a minimalist aesthetic, it is the perfect game to sharpen your mind and destress after a long day.

Our Expert Score

79/100

Block Out is a masterclass in 'zen' gaming. We’ve seen a thousand sorting games on the App Store, but the tactile 'clack' of the blocks and the clean 3D physics make this version feel much more premium. It’s the kind of game that occupies just enough of your brain to stop you from worrying, without being so difficult that it causes frustration.

The difficulty curve is very gentle, which is exactly what you want from a casual puzzler. The levels are short enough to be played in line at the grocery store, but the 'just one more' factor will often have you sitting on your couch for an hour clearing world after world. If you’re looking for a low-stakes way to keep your brain sharp, this is an excellent choice.

Hi! I’m a player of Block Out! - Color Sort Puzzle and I really enjoy it! I like that it challenges the brain to try different methods and move things around. It’s not too hard but it’s not easy either. It’s a very enjoyable game and I find solving these puzzles stress reliving. I also like that setup because that blocks remind me of Legos and I used to play with Legos when I was younger but lost all of them. I really think that this game is really fun for if you’re bored. It is something that requires a bit of patience and fast thinking so younger ages isn’t really recommend- not because the game is inappropriate! Just it may be frustrating for younger ages because you have to think outside the box. But for younger brains that really want a challenge I think this game is great! Overall, I really love this game and hope wonderful updates are to come. Thank you for reading this! ❤️

Best of its kind - BUT

You’d be hard pressed to find a game of this type that has better graphics, smoother piece movements, or more equally complicated and satisfying-to-solve puzzles HOWEVER I had to delete this and re-download it to start over because while it is fun to play, I finally reached a level that was impossible to solve within the 55 seconds allowed. I agree with the other reviews stating so many of the levels are impossible to solve within the time allowed on the first try and it’s very hard to keep a streak or win any of the streak-related side quests. I’m also not a pay-to-play kind of person, but I’d watch an ad for an extra life if that were an option. Additionally (and I reached out to the devs in the hopes that this can be addressed) there doesn’t seem to be any accommodation for colorblind players and the purple and blue openings are SO close to the boarder and background that I spend a lot of time trying to solve puzzles due to not being able to see that the purple door is open, for example. It would be great if there were a colorblind mode or if the boarder and background could have a little more contrast for those of us who have trouble seeing colors. Otherwise, this is a fantastic game.

Cheating pay to play!

Im being generous by giving 2 stars and only because mind blowingly there are zero ads without having to pay to have them removed. That being said, it makes sense why there’s probably no ads as in order to beat the levels you have to pay for practically every single one. I know this game is rolling in dough with how much people are most likely paying to play this. You’re not given anywhere near enough time to both think and clear the blocks at the same time especially with multiple challenges introduced in one level. As a result you have to replay the level multiple times but by then you’ve run out of lives and can’t proceed. You then have to wait until your lives refill. Which each one takes up to 30 minutes! None of the tools really help you so they’re practically pointless and when you do use them they cost so many coins you have to pay to replenish them on your own. You’re not winning enough coins throughout each level to earn anywhere near enough to use instead of paying. You get a daily reward supposedly but it’s never for any of the tools or more time only cheap coins which feels scammy as well. Your best bet is to just avoid this game. It’s not worth the aggravation.

My fav so far

Love the game so much. In super hard level so many times I pass it till last one seconds. OMG so thrilling and exciting. Sometimes I even screaming because I didn’t pass it for only last block! I love it and I can actually pass it without spend any money (and now I am about to reach level 700) And it seems like it will update the new level every month? or two month? I don’t know yet but still current level is enough for me to enjoy this game. The biggest fun is the game it self. I love the puzzle because it need you to use your brain to pass a level and some levels it designed very brilliant and thoughtful that gave me so much fun while I was playing. Truely thank you to the developers. Appreciate your work. Thank your for sharing this amazing game.

The game has a lot of adds, but they start coming up when you get pass level 50 or so, and the game feels rigged around 125 your not gonna have enough time to beat some of the levels so you got to use the Rocket (which takes away one block) UFO (which takes away multiple of the same color) or the clock(which stops time) I did enjoy the game at first. But in the later levels you don’t have enough time. But what’s really annoying is when you don’t beat a level it gives you the option to pay for 90 seconds the button is in the middle of the screen so if you’re playing and the time runs out, you can accidentally press to give you more time I was wasting so many points that way. They need to make it to where you have to press it twice. They know how to do it because it gives you a reminder when you deny it, it says (are you sure you don’t wanna spend the points to continue?) They need to do that same thing for continuing. I deleted it after I wasted 8,000 points that way.

Price Gouging

This is a pretty cool application/puzzle game. It has nice graphics. It is challenging and brain stimulating. However, the app developers are really price gouging. They give you 1 minute and 35 seconds on a difficult puzzle. And when your time runs out, they want you to pay 900 coins in order to extend your time for 30 more seconds. And then after the initial 30 seconds is over if you want to extend your time again, it’s 1900 coins. That wouldn’t be bad if each level you win you get 500 coins, BUT NO, WHEN YOU WIN each level, you only get 20 coins. Now, something is wrong with that. The winning the level prize must be comparable to the amount of coins you need to an extension of time. It is way out of proportion. I know that you don’t have to buy coins and it’s your choice, but in order to increase levels on this puzzle game, it’s almost like you have to purchase packages/bundles, and they get used up so quickly and you earned them so slowly that it’s not even worth it. I deleted it. Downloader beware!

Usually these kinds of games have an add every couple clicks, but this has no adds, i downloaded because of the adds seeming very fun and it seemed very brainworking, even for people who struggle without gradual learning can play this and the people who speed through can too! It’s perfect for anyone and it’s so addictive I stayed up until 1 am playing and I wasn’t even tired! Great way to pass time and have some fun! I do have one thing, I want to be able to change my photo because the avatars kind of creep me out, so maybe add a feature where you can make your profile have your picture it would be great, but overall this is an awesome and interesting game!

Literally Impossible

Every free game has a way to make money. Some load you with ads, which luckily this one does not. So maybe that’s already a big win for you. This game has timed puzzles. They start you off nice and slow and building you into a streak to make you think “I’m so smart, I’m great at this.” Then they give you your first hard puzzle. But in this game they mean “You must know the exact combination immediately or you lose. Need to pause to think? You lose.” It’s even fine to lose at first because they load you with coins. But by the time a few hard levels have come and gone, you’re out of power ups and coins and then they ask you to pay. I chose not to, which in turn makes it a memorization game. I would honestly enjoy this more if they switched to a bonus timer that counts up to determine something like a combo multiplier and ads elsewhere.
