As a bassist, I’ve tried many apps to help with reading, but Bass Sight Reading Workout is one of the most practical. It bridges the gap between 'knowing the notes' and 'playing the notes on the fretboard' under pressure. The app presents you with musical notation and requires you to identify the correct position on a virtual fretboard, which is exactly how your brain works when reading a lead sheet.
The progressive difficulty is well-structured. It starts with simple open strings and first-position notes before moving into more complex accidentals and higher register positions. It’s not a 'game' in the traditional sense, but the scoring system and timer create a sense of urgency that mimics real-time playing. It’s a specialized tool, but for its niche, it is excellent.

Tips & Walkthrough
Before starting a session, select which area of the neck you want to focus on (e.g., Frets 0-4). This allows you to master one position at a time before moving up the fretboard.
Gameplays
In the workout mode, notes will appear on the staff. You must tap the corresponding fret and string as quickly as possible. Points are awarded for accuracy and speed.
