Shocking how extensive this game is

This game is huge, and it is so addictive. There are ska many things to do to make your players and team better. It took me a couple of days to figure out how much there really is to do in this game. I was afraid that I would not like it after playing the old games for so long. I played the original baseball superstars, baseball superstars II, 2012, and I have been playing 2013 for a long time. This game is so different from all of them, but I have loved it. The only thing that I cannot stand is the way that the computer switches pitchers on its own. I have developed a couple of pitchers so far, and I’m still working on developing more, but I still have a few of the pitchers that you start out with. Whenever I’m playing in the superstar league, it starts one of the crappy pitchers instead of one of my good ones, and if I bring in a relief pitcher that is good, the computer will pull him out within 2 innings, even if he is pitching well. That infuriates me because I will be playing a team that is good, and it will sub in my crappy pitchers and all of a sudden they will score 10 runs in an inning. I just wish you could manage your team during the game more. I love this game though, and it has caused me to do bad in school which is not good, but that is a testament to how fun it is lol.

Lot of game. Wish it ran smoothly

This is a good game turned bad due to lag. The core mechanic of the game is rhythm or timing, which makes any lag totally ruin the gameplay. The collection aspects of the game are pretty user friendly and not too customer abusive. The game takes a long time to play and to build up to match people who’ve been playing for years. The biggest downside though is the insufferable lag. Even on lowest quality operation settings, every single game mode is susceptible to frequent lag spikes even on smooth internet. Most often these lags occur when the game’s chat system decides that it’s time to bombard you with 30 some odd updates of random people you don’t care about acquiring trainers that you also don’t care about, and it spits them all at you in one second. Inexplicably, there’s no way to mute the chat feature during game play or altogether. All of the menu screens have also slowed down, making managing your resources take significantly more time. I thought this might be fixed once it started happening, but the game keeps getting bigger and bigger with more updates of more content and despite an active developing team making frequent updates and a relatively active discord communication server, this problem has persisted. Crazy that you can offer packages for multiple hundreds of dollars when the game doesn’t consistently run smoothly on any setting. This game takes too long to grind for free or costs too much money for it to have this problem.

Wow

Let me say, I was stuck on baseball super stars 2012. But it ended up crashing all the time recently. And I finally gave in and got the new one. (I tried 2013 and really didn’t enjoy it). And it’s definitely a different experience. Feels like a Nintendo type baseball game all on ur phone. Truly addicting. I wish there was just a story mode that you could play only like the old versions. Because when you play the “my player” you only play one season consisting of 7 weeks (6 season games and a championship week) and then your done with that player. They then can be assigned to your main team you use for season or online play. That is truly my only complaint. Wish I could just have a my player mode where I can make my person the video game version of Barry bonds and not have to worry about his storyline ending. But, the benefits greatly outweigh that negative. The new features are crazy fun, and I am heavily invested in this game as well as Dokkan battle. If you have free time I certainly suggest downloading it. If you don’t have free time, then you may procrastinate and fall behind on work or college haha.

Changes are preventing game from shining

I used to be obsessed with Baseball Superstars 2013. The changes they made to 2020 are just not as enjoyable. The “Myplayer” feature offers a short 6 game season along with a 1-game playoff match. It’s very underwhelming. Additionally, once your done with the season your player is just transferred to your online team and you can’t continue on to new seasons with them. The thrill you got from playing 2013’s baseball superstars is what made the game fun and developing your character season by season was what made it for me. I also think the art style of it was overall more enjoyable to the eye. The fact that there is an auto mode offers no challenge, and the trainers/players aspect is not straightforward and kind of confusing. This reminds me of every other game on the app store when it comes to drawing characters/heroes to enhance your team. It has a lot of p2w aspects. Unfortunately, I doubt the 2013 version will ever be updated to be optimized and updated and I doubt that the devs will implement the features that made 2013 version fun into the 2020 version. I will continue to give this game a chance, but overall a lot of the features just aren’t up to par with what I expected out of Gamevil. All they had to do was make a better 2013 Baseball Superstars, but instead they are trying to introduce new, confusing features that just don’t gel well with what the game is supposed to be.

Maybe user error

I love the game, I used to play the older versions back in highschool and saw this on the App Store and downloaded it. So far it’s been a ton of fun, and I’ve almost built myself a complete lineup of custom dudes. The problem is, when I try to use my team in pvp the game won’t let me control all my players. It auto plays most of my batters and only occasionally asks me if I want to hit with two outs and a runner on first.. great. Well my team is decent enough that I can score runs even when the game won’t let me bat, but then it gets worse when it won’t let me pitch and the opposing team is scoring runs willy nilly. Whatever not every pitcher is perfect for every at bat, but when the game gives me challenges like don’t give up more than 2 runs max, then the first three auto batters against me get three base hits in a row it feels a little unfair. Even when I do choose to use my pitcher, all of my pitchers are average joes because the game won’t tell me where I can create my own pitcher. The create a player only lets me make position players so I’m left out here with a pitcher with a fastball and a cutter and nothing else. Don’t get me wrong Mariano had some great stuff but these guys aren’t wearing 42 for a reason. Google hasn’t helped so maybe submitting a review here might

Love the game but I miss the old version of it..

I have always loved this game, I played the 2012 and 2013 back then when they worked, they was so fun and you got to interact with the other characters and it was just all amazing!! This game you actually got to walk around like through the park before games and interact and get into cutscenes and just have fun! That’s one thing I like about this new game. One thing I really miss is how you can’t continue your own guy, once you finish the 6 games and playoff games you have to make another, I was enjoying my guy and getting abilities and interacting and was hoping to keep him. But it actually didn’t work like it did, you can’t continue your guy and you have to make another which isn’t fun. I want to develop my own guy. Keep all the things I had and just go season after season after season. The nurse helped me and that was a great story because you actually could get a “girlfriend” I guess you can say but the story was fun. But it ended and it sucked because now I need to start over and I don’t like that. I just want to continue my guy and keep the story going and keep getting my player better! :( I hope you guys fix that and actually make it how it was back then.. I really enjoy this game though!

Good but not good

Ok first of all the game is ok the manager mode is ok where you can go to different planets but the problem is the MY PLAYER MODE people are giving the game 1 star ratings because of that mode. I got really excited when I started playing it I thought it was going to be like a full franchise where you make your way up to the hall of fame. People that downloaded this game are 80% my player mode fans so that mode HAS to be good I gave this game four stars because it has good features but could be much better and if you are a my player mode super fan then this isn’t your game and also one more thing. In the myplayer mode you can only go a six game season and one game playoffs what it needs to be is more groups top two advances and kind of like the champions league where there are two legs or something like that. Also when you win a trophy it actually means something if you made myplayer mode better then this game is a five star rating hands down but for now you can call this game a three star rating or four stars thanks for reading!

Don’t bother with “PVP”

As a single player game this is really fun. There are cool characters and the art style takes some getting used to, but once you do this game is really fun. The gatcha is pretty fair and the level up system is tedious and bland, but that’s to be expected in games like this. Playing against other teams however is a JOKE. The galaxy cup is a PVP where you are only allowed to play 3 players and 2 pitchers, so they only let you play when those characters are up to bat. Because of this, every single game is a blowout against you. Have fun while you sit and watch as runs pour in while you aren’t pitching or all your other batters get struck out. What is the point of even letting us play at all if it’s all pre decided? Luckily there is an auto button that I now use every single time because it’s no fun to try my best just to have the NPC team score 11 runs in the 8th. You still get the points, just fewer. The regular pvp is similarly awful, only letting you play portions of those games as well despite it not being a real time game against the other player, but just a computer controlled version of their team.
