1. Fixed the issue of full-version career saves being lost on some device models.
2. Adjusted the UI size of toolbar buttons.
3. Added "Picking Offset" in the settings options, allowing adjustment of the offset distance of items in hand to prevent them from being obscured by fingers.
4. And other optimization items.
Backpack Battles is an incredibly smart twist on the auto-battler genre. While games like Teamfight Tactics focus on positioning on a board, this game focuses on positioning in your bag. It’s essentially 'Inventory Management: The Game,' and it's surprisingly addictive. The depth comes from the intricate synergies—placing a 'Lucky Clover' near a weapon to increase crit chance, or arranging food items so they trigger in a specific order.
The asynchronous multiplayer is a stroke of genius. You aren't playing against a live opponent, but rather a snapshot of another player's bag from their current run. This removes the pressure of a timer and lets you obsess over the layout of your items for as long as you want. With multiple classes that play completely differently, there is a massive amount of build variety. It’s the perfect 'one more round' game that rewards both strategic planning and creative problem-solving.
Deep, complex synergy mechanics
Asynchronous PvP battles against real player builds
Multiple character classes with unique items
Satisfying and addictive inventory puzzle-solving
Pay close attention to 'adjacency' bonuses. Many items have stars that point to neighboring slots. Filling those slots with the correct item types (like food or weapons) is the difference between a weak bag and a god-tier build.
The game alternates between the shop phase—where you buy items and organize your bag—and the battle phase—where your build automatically fights an opponent. You have 5 'lives' to see how many wins you can get.
The battle is simulated automatically based on your backpack setup, so you can take as long as you need in the shop phase.
The devs have fixed most of the issues I’ve had with the game in the past. They made the ui a little bigger, fixed the clunky controls, and made it easier to rotate items. The only improvement I’d like to see now is the maybe a way to zoom in or make the objects bigger? Regardless much better than when it first came out. Thanks for the fast updates.
I’ve been waiting excitedly for this game ever since it was announced. I belated hundreds of hours of Backpack battle on Steam and to have it available mobile was exciting. Overall the port is pretty well done. But there’s a few issues. I’ve played the mobile version for about 3 hours at the time of writing. Text is very small and some symbols are almost impossible to differentiate. Not sure how this could be addressed since the screen is obviously smaller. The worst issue is the touch controls. For game who’s whole mechanic is organizing and setting up items precisely the movement of items is literally the only interaction we have with the game. It’s frustrating at best. Items will lock (preventing combinations) seemingly randomly and will do it whether the manual movement tab is open or not. Other times if you place an item on top of another item you’ll have to move the old one, makes sense. But sometimes that old item will be moving off the screen and you have to figure out how to get it back on screen. This can cause you to misplace items and ruin your entire build. Finally seeing where the stars for each item will lineup is also impossible. Since the items are so small they get covered by your fingers. I truly hope these control issues get addressed soon because what is a very hyped up app for people that love this game has turned out to be initially very disappointing.
I think it just needs a better tutorial on controls. Works great on mobile. Hold an item with one finger and tap with the other to rotate. Everything runs great on an iPhone 13. I’m disappointed this doesn’t have good touchpad support on my MacBook and I can’t rotate there, but this is a great game well worth the one time payment. No ads or other microtransactions. What a breath of fresh air. EDIT: I have discovered how to rotate on macOS. If you open the application settings of the game from the top bar while you are playing and turn on “touch alternatives” - you can then hit the spacebar while you’re dragging an item to rotate it. It seems to be fully playable now, but I am still of the opinion that all these controls need to be more obvious to the user.
Played this on pc and it’s really fun, mobile is exact replica, however there should’ve been a better implementation of the ui for mobile use. Buttons are far too small and when playing on mobile >50% of my time is spent trying to manage the small screen and small buttons, etc.
I got this game because I love it on PC, and unfortunately it looks exactly the same as it does on PC. Things are difficult to see and read, and as an iOS user, picking up items from my bin will at times close the app. Additionally, when attempting to sell items in your box, the item UI covers the sell chest, meaning you have to lift the item and re grab it to see its sell price. I LOVE this game and will happily amend to a 5 star rating if the UI sees some very serious work.
Loved the PC version, but playing on a smaller phone screen is too difficult and cumbersome. I wish there was an option to zoom in on your back pack build screen. As it is quite small. It’s difficult to finely rotate items and place them where you want. I often find myself placing an item accidentally in wrong spot. Should be able to zoom in on your back pack and storage container. Please add this feature.
When moving around items in your bag, you have a really good chance to have your item sold automatically without you wanting to or even being close to the chest where you sell your items. With no undo button this glitch is making the game unplayable.
I’m a HUGE fan of this game on PC. This is exactly the same game which is awesome but the UI really needs a mobile update. I can’t figure out how to lock items in the shop and everything is fall too small on my iPhone. Still a 5 star game but I’m really hoping for a mobile UI pass.
