Bug fixes and performance improvements
This is one of my all time favorite games, and after having to sell my other means of gaming for medical bills I was really stoked to see this was available for iOS. Unfortunately I have found one of my favorite features is missing from this version. You cannot change songs. Do it for Takumi was great fun to be able to cue up the song when I wanted to go all out on a track. It doesn’t make sense to unlock songs in the free roam mode that you will never hear again :( Aside from that, the game does run very well on iPhone and M4 iPad surprisingly even better than on my steam deck. With specs maxed out game runs without any hiccups or stutters. Controller support is automatic which is nice, but doesn’t seem to register on some screens so I have to tap the screen. There is also a bug when entering career mode where even if you tap or press on continue it doesn’t work. You have to back out of the menu and start all over and then it works. An easy fix but inconvenient. It’s been 7 months since an update so I don’t have high hopes, but it would mean a lot if the devs could add some touch arrows in the menu to change audio tracks like in the other versions of this game.
I’ve played the PC version of this game for a number of months and always thought it’d adapt very well to a phone game. Just my luck, this popped up on the app store just last month. It delivers in spades as a stylized mini pseudo simulator, but it still has some issues to work out i hope to see fixed in later updates. - notification crashes: on a handful of occasions, Ive received battery life notifications (this game is will exercise your battery) that the typical “battery save mode” or “cancel” popups that will freeze the game when you return or quit out of the stage - no pause: to clarify, there is a pause button. However i have had two instances in which i go to pause but the button does nothing and my car careens off the map - button layout: this is more of an amenity I’d like to see later, but the gas/brake pedal buttons are pretty close together, and the ability to choose from some layouts could benefit some big-thumbed players like myself who inadvertently accelerate of a cliffside hairpin now and again All in all the game is incredibly fun and, I think, more pleasantly challenging in ways than the PC version. I hope some of the release issues are fixed!!
Would be waaaay better if the stuttering would be taken care of. Hitting a turn at high speed only to have the game stutter means you're off track no matter what. Please fix this! This game deserves love! It runs this way on both a iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 13 mini. Otherwise, the game runs great and looks amazing, even on the 13 mini, which I have run at 75% resolution. It's actually pretty aesthetic. This is an amazing game with a top tier soundtrack! I want more of this game always. It's my go to even if I don't feel like gaming. I have it on every system I can have it on. Playing this on the can gives it a huge advantage over other versions, especially with what I've been eating recently. Highly recommended even with the bugs.
I Love this game it looks and plays decent. I would love to see better optimization on iOS. It’s buggy in gameplay. I didn’t mind the price bc I like the game. Noodlecake y’all are a good game company and usually don’t release something with a big bug like the save issue. Someone dropped the ball over there. Besides that if the game will run smoothly more of the time it would be great. Once the bugs get ironed out I’ll be happy. I will update my review as soon as the save bug is fixed. I’m not review bombing. I have this on switch and mobile with all dlc available on both. So I fully support the game. It’s a very beautiful rally game with so so much potential. Thanks for bringing it to mobile it’s a gamble when companies do that. Hope the game has a long future.
cool game. runs poorly. just lost all my save data for some reason after playing for a week. idk why I have less settings on iOS than I did on the switch version. idk why my iPhone 15 Pro Max has occasional framerate bogging and overheats if I play above 30fps all low settings. idk why the whole game reset itself today, after playing for a week. but I probably won't be playing this anymore after that. the career already felt tedious to me, but that's more of a game design preference. losing all of that tedious effort tho, that's pretty lame. also, if I wasn't playing with a controller I would probably be more annoyed by having zero touch control configuration options. also, playing on a tv over usbc seems wonky. it's better when I lock it to 30fps, but disappointing. · conceptually I like this game. the driving physics felt a bit odd to me, but not terrible. remembering dirt rally, I think that was easier to control with controller. visually I like this game. it feels a bit bland at times, and maybe curbed performance limiting effects are a part of that. something about the style on this one works a bit less for me than absolute drift did.
Maybe im missing something, but this is totally unplayable on Mac. The buttons cannot be held they must bve spammed to work. For example, I'll hold the acceleration key but it only acelerates for a second before letting go. same with steering. And its almost like the game can only take one imput at a time. Maybe its better on touch screen, but its impossible for me to play on keyboard. Im really bummed about this. The game looks super fun and I was really exited to try it out. I just wish I could actually control my car. To the devs- please tell me if I'm doing something wrong, or if not, please fix the controls, I would love to play your game.
To be honest I have been excited for this game for a while now. Preordered and got it. Game is beautiful. All the tracks, maps and cars. Hope there’s more in the future. Tho it is very frustrating when the game still doesn’t feel very optimized. My IPhone 15 Pro Max runs very hot. Only this game. I play Call of Duty mobile max settings. Devil May cry.. many power hungry and graphic intensive games. And for whatever reason this beautiful yet simple art style is cooking my phone. In an era of these super powerful phones with extreme performance I feel this should be a piece of cake. Hope to see 120 frames in the future.
Graphics are actually beautiful for the style it’s in. It’s very challenging depending if you’re going for speed but I have no issues with a controller hooked up. Also any news or information on everybody losing their data? I was pretty high up in the story… gonna stop playing until I hear news about our unlocks being fixed. Overall great game but please troubleshoot the loss of the saved data.
