Best sudoku for iOS.
Thu Dec 21 2023 86smopuiMI've been playing sudoku using this iOS game for years, but very sporadically. Yet I've always loved it. The interface is perfect in that it doesnt provide cheats or shortcuts, but does help to keep track of things that are otherwise not the fun part of solving a sudoku (for instance removing all the scratch notes for a digit once you've solved something that eliminates the possibility of them being in other squares. Lately I have been playing more and I had the urge to try different tile sets. And for the first time playing this game I experienced an ad (I think they normally only play after you have won a game and then elect to start a new one... I'm usually too spent). The ad played and within 5 seconds the sudoku call game creators had it set to let me skip it. And get right back to playing. Then it dawned on me how much I appreciated not getting ads thrown at me left and right, not having them interrupt me at any time during a game, and even on the rare occasions when they did play, being able to skip. Bought it immediately for $4.99. Too cheap. I wish I could show the developers my appreciation more. Add a tip jar! And thank you!
Bad Scoring System
Thu Feb 13 2020 ServiceXFor the most part I love everything about this game. I have one big issue that really affects gameplay. The scoring is done by multiplying a number that lowers as the time counts on to the number put into the empty box. The issue is how many numbers are missing and which numbers are missing. On expert it could be 23-26 numbers given. So having three extra numbers gone gives you a higher score then having more numbers to start with. And it depends on how many of each number you already have. If you have most of the 9’s and zero 1’s your score is going to be dramatically lower than if you had most of the 1’s and zero 9’s. So, the majority of the score is not coming from how fast or well you’re solving the puzzle, but rather which numbers are missing in that round. I have to start over whenever I have a board with too many high numbers and too few low numbers. That means I can never have a play streak because I don’t want to have a low score and waste my time with the board I know I can’t do well with. On average, I probably play one out of every six boards. I just wish the scoring was different because it shouldn’t rely entirely on what numbers they choose are missing, instead of speed and skill level. It’s not that some of the boards on expert are easier than the others, it’s just that if most The nines are there and most the ones are not, filling in a one multiplied by the time number that gives you your score is worth a lot less then putting a nine multiplied by the same. Rather than a point value based on the missing numbers they could just make filling in a blank number worth the same no matter which of the numbers are missing.
Can't play the game anymore

I've played over 8000 games but tonight I sadly could not finish what will possibly be my last attempted game! Used to be the ads appeared between finishing one game and starting the next. This is acceptable. Now, however, ads come up every 15-30 seconds. This makes the game unplayable and certainly no longer enjoyable. It's been a nice run but sadly will be ending if this does not get rectified! ☹️ Update: Intrusive ads isdues seem to be resolved but some recent update(s) now appears to have altered and drastically slowed down the game play. Now when selecting an empty cell it takes the game a very noticeable delay to highlight already filled in cells in the same horizonal row and same vertical column as the selected empty cell. It now takes a very noticeable pause for that cell to be filled in with your chosen number. Not sure if this was intended to improve the player's user experience but it certainly doesn't. In fact, it degrades it. Can you please just leave the gameplay as it's been for so long? That consistency of user experience is what made this app stand apart from many others! Makes me wonder if the developers are implementing changes because they can and seem cool from a coding perspective but they aren't getting any honest feedback from players before they publish updates? 🤷♂️
The latest updates have ruined the game
Sat Aug 23 2025 KenkadetI have been playing this game pretty regularly over the years and the latest update has really ruined the game. It is now glitchy and slow to respond to key actions in the game. This slows down the game and takes the enjoyment out of it. I am keeping this game downloaded with the hope the developers fix these issues. It’s been a couple months and there hasn’t been any noticeable improvements when I check back. I will give it a month or two more but it the issues are not resolved this game will go in the trash heap. Too bad since I enjoyed the game before the updates that ruined it. Update 22 Aug 2025: I tried the game out again after an extended pause and it looks like all the annoying bugs that ruined the game have been fixed. It is back to what it used to be. Fun game play without the glitches. I have seen some reviews mentioning annoying ads in the middle of game play but I have not seen this. The ads have consistently been between games/matches. This is how it has been the entire time I have played the game.
Dangerous ads?

While we don’t control the ads directly, we do remove those that violate our guidelines, and this ad has been blocked. We hope you’ll give the game another chance and enjoy a smoother experience. If you encounter more such ads interrupting the gameplay, please screenshot and report them to support for a prompt resolution. We appreciate you taking the time to help us to improve the player experience!" I redownloaded the app, and now when I play I am not getting ads that interrupt game play or ones that interrupt and take me to a scammy site. I am much happier to play it now. Thank you for the response and fixing it! (Older review update) Update - at the bottom of the info about this app, there’s an option to “report a problem” to Apple. I did this and reported it as a “scam or fraud”. Hopefully the app creator fixes this issue. The app started opening safari in the middle of game play to sites that look like they’re malware. How can the app be allowed to open safari? It seems like the sites it goes to are dangerous. I don’t trust this app now. In addition, the constant ad movement at bottom of screen during game play is very distracting and obnoxious.
App is ruined
Tue Dec 23 2025 HfksiyevdjdhdbiI see a lot of people already mentioning the ads and wifi play. What happens if I decide to play in an area that has no wifi? Does that mean I can’t initiate a game until I do connect to wifi? I see that you’re response is that it only has to be connected for the game to sync and load but, if there’s no initial wifi, you can never play it? So I’m on an airplane for 5 hours. I can’t play a game without having to pay for wifi on the plane? Or if I’m traveling in a country where my data or wifi is limited, it won’t let me play? This is absolutely stupid. I don’t know why that feature has to be implemented. This is the first game I have ever come across that does this. Also in terms of UI look, I hate the larger letters and numbers. Just everything being scaled up is an awful look. There’s no way to change the font size, just the theme. It looks ridiculous, almost comical. Please revert back to what the people enjoyed about this app, otherwise you will continue to lose users. The ads are ridiculous and the paid version says it’s not accessible in my country. I live in the US, so what other countries is this only available in? It seems that your responses doesn’t really address much except that wifi is only briefly needed and that the ad issue will be noted. This solves nothing and it’s giving you guys negative reviews. Consider what your users want vs what you think will get you the most money. Because it seems that you won’t be with the user loss. I will be deleting this app. Which is very sad and disappointing. I have been using this app close to 10years. Hopefully you care enough to listen and make actual changes, and not just take notes.
Best Sudoku App I’ve ever Used
Wed Oct 18 2023 ah091023I rarely write reviews, but in this case, I really had to. I’ve had this app for a few years now, and it’s the only game that I’ve kept on my phone and used consistently. I have adhd, so my apps tend to have a a quicker turnover than normal. 🤣🤷🏻♀️ I also have a very painful chronic illness that keeps me bedridden in pain more days than it doesn’t these days sadly. When you have to deal with that amount of pain, with no real end to the suffering in sight, you have to find mindless, yet stimulating, low-impact activities to help distract your brain and body… at least enough so that you make it through. Your app has provided me with countless hours of entertainment/ distraction over the years, and I thank you so much for that. And thank you so much for taking the time to develop such a high quality, smart, seamless app. It has helped me tremendously. 🙏❤️ To all the people complaining about ads, especially those who have been playing for years… you do know that you can remove the ads for like $2, right? 🤣🤣
Miserable, money grubbing!
Tue Oct 15 2019 ClionamacFirst off, let me say that I have loved this game and that this has to be the only game that I actually consistently played. However the pop ups have made my enjoyment of the game non existent....in fact, they only serve to aggravate me to the point that I’ve stopped playing the game for weeks at a time. I frequently give up playing after one or two games because the ads and the pop ups just take so much from my enjoyment of the game that it’s just not worth it. No more. I’ve been playing it for years, and in fact I have paid to be rid of these ads. However after one of your upgrades this fact was apparently lost and in spite of having paid, I am again stuck with ads. This I find not only poor business practice but rather typical of the underhanded manner in which Apple finds ways to take money from unsuspecting customers. I was so desperate to play that I was willing to pay again, just to be free of those ads! However..... when I looked for a way to pay for the game, none was evident, which means the ad revenue is way more than what you get from me when I pay! Well, I’ve had enough. This customer is not satisfied. You’ve taken my money from me and continue to force me to watch ads. Unless you restore my paid up status, I will no longer play this game.
